      @wiegraf9009@wiegraf90092 жыл бұрын
    • @@wiegraf9009 it took considerable effort to get them to _start_ listening to pop at the rates they do nowadays. It's all corporate strategy and subtle brainwashing and no that's not some kind of conspiracy theory, it's a known fact that pretty much every pop song is written by the same two people and produced by the same few teams. They use carefully targeted psychological tricks to get people hooked. The same chords, the same motifs, the same "themes", the same dreadful lyrics even sometimes. All because the brain likes familiarity, it makes it feel calm, thus making people more likely to seek more of the same thing out in the future AND in addition to that they don't give you a choice, which is why the same 5-10 songs are on repeat on the radio at different times of the day, that forces you to listen more, that programs you to like it, its basic psychology. If they're already putting that much effort in, why not add a little more just to kill the competition? I mean look at what happened to rock and classical. The only genre currently competing with pop is hip hop, and it's mostly because they use the same strategies, which is why I keep hearing trash like 6ix9ine instead of actually good rap like Eminem or Mike Shinoda and the like.

      @VisionsOfSpy@VisionsOfSpy2 жыл бұрын
    • @@VisionsOfSpy I try listening to the top 40 at the end of every year just to see if there is anything interesting that has come out in the pop world and I'm almost always disappointed. Not saying I like it, just that it's familiar like you said.

  • One way to make it on Got Talent: 0. Have an emotional story 1. Begin playing a classical piano piece until a judge or scripted audience member yawns 2. Stop for dramatic effect, allowing the judges and scripted audience to gasp 3. Kick the bench in a sudden fashion across the stage, and play the piece 3x as fast (bonus points if you dance whilst looking really intense) 4. Move on to the second round. 5. Repeat the process over again next round and be booted off from being boring.

I never saw it. He must’ve been one of those rare people who came to audition with actual talent and classical music. I can only imagine the amount of yawns in the audience, and the disrespect the judges must’ve gave him. Classical music is a thing yall, and it’s really cool if you just take a moment to actually listen to it instead of yawning. Give it a chance. Annddddd, I remember one of the kids who came on to play violin, and who ended up making it to the finals, the judges had said after his performance of a pop song (he was actually pretty good - he was also like 12) I expected you to come out here and play some boring music like ode to joy, but this was so much better. *cue applause*

Piano is way more than just the notes; there is so much going on you have to apply to those notes you press. You come to the interview w your suit and resume, but you get the job w your personal expression, character, qualifications, experience, and how you articulate.

Then as soon as they get out of the intro they get cut off to get told they were boring. The whole thing threw away any chance of showing talent just to exploit them as people for the drama they created by only taking one of them. To actually _play_ the instrument takes years of practise and a dedication to the art that these shows gloss over and treat as less then nothing. I stopped playing many years ago, something I regret now and just don't have the time to spare these days to relearn. Actually I can still play my clarinet but I can't read sheet music anymore so I am limited to mostly Stranger on the Shore as it is the only song I played enough as a kid (my mother liked it) that the muscle memory is still present!

I understand it's for entertainment, but yawning just as the man started was incredibly disrespectful and it is disheartening these guys with raw talent aren't getting valid recognition. • The judges asking the violinist to audition again without the pianist is really scandalous, especially since she was standing right there, being told the reason the performance was bad was because of her. It was even reinforced again when the judges gave the now violin soloist a standing ovation even though her performance wasn't even better than their collaboration. If I was in her place, I would have come back up on stage and smashed their heads open. This sort of behaviour is exactly what schools try to discourage kids to do, yet the judges act like they are the ones who are right. To even have something like this on national television is absolutely unacceptable.

  • a wonderful era where non talents are promoted and the symmetry, the beauty, the mathematical background behind great pieces of music (that is especially easy to see in the duration of the notes for ex) harmony, the emotions given by playing playing a major scale - happiness, playing a minor scale - sadness, alternating between the to of them - a dialogue, playing something quieter - shyness, hidden message, playing something loud - stormy feelings, agriness, making pauses - getting nervous, curious about what is next, leaving time to meditate before the next part of the music piece, seeing how a music piece evolves just like our life story - introduction, exposition, development than recapitulation - as first thing appear to be in some way, then you get a more profound understanding of them, then life surprises you to see variations of the same story but it sounds so original you almost forget the pattern and experience something you percieve as unique. and many many more.. now we mix harmony with beatboxing and symmetry with almost naked people showing off when a musician should be humble and give us the even more humble auditory of part, a small piece of what is called beauty non.talents. next time maybe they should try playing the piano with their own flutes oh, wait. looks like sb already do it I miss the times where I was playing the piano. I played it for 6 years until I had o stop cuz big exams are coming and my parents transfered me to a normal school. I wish I could reverse the time now..what a wonderful time, to play a piece of 4 pages and feel so proud of what your fingers can do on a piano. I wish I could had learnt more about music theory and didnt stop playing just because my parents told me that if I keep playing and not study I will die of starvation like all musicians do. I didnt want to play in front of people, but I wanted to play for me...it was beautiful I thank TWO SET VIOLIN for making me remember things about the music theory I thaught I had forgotten. They also can add a layer of clapping and shouts to make audience reactions sound bigger than it really was. It's not fake all the time, but it definitely is enough to make the show not thrust worthy.

I went there because they were scouting for 'Talented kids and musicians' i was unsure but my mum wanted me to because she thought it would be a good experience. Turned out it was set up, We had to practice parts over and over again, and people were smoking and talking bad in front of us(kids from 4-18) swearing. The only good thing was the accommodation. I was re-watching the videos (and watching the ones that I didn't see at first) and I was tired and haven't gotten a nap, so I yawned. But if I wasn't tired, I'd be appreciating the music and the musicians. We do so much effort to what we do and most classical musicians are just either yawned off or go unnoticed (unless you're famous). And as someone who does both music (guitar and planning to do piano sooner or later) and a lover of classical pieces, it just makes me sad and dissapointed to how they treat some of the musicians.
