Hot damn, 1,000,000 views!!! Big thanks to all the artists and my friends at NewRetroWave for making this mix possible. Whose down for Vol 4..?
Cant get enough of this one. Such an epic atmosphere created from start to finish through the selection of songs and their precise arrangement to maintain it through the ebb and flow of its entirety.
im down with it, these tunes get me through the work week.
Any chance you could make a list of JUST the songs that sample from films, like the Phantasm and Fog theme?
Thanks yo! I remember when I figured out the ending with the DWTD and the ELEVN tracks I was pretty happy to end it with that bang. Also, right after that Raydar tracks pretty much breaking the mix down and starting it back up again. Good times, I'm really happy this mix caught on. I'll start work on the 4th soon :)
You say that like you achieved something... all you did was put other peoples work up xD
They need to make a Club that plays strictly this genre! Yessss
Make it happen and I'll be the DJ :)
Lilly Fahey they do. Most goth clubs play synth. City club in Detroit has nights once s month so does Smalls
80's retro club would be badass.. if you wear any clothes made after 88 you get kicked the fuck out
dark sun .....Athens
There are Clubs that play this genre, or at least parties where it is played. Mostly Goth-clubs with 80s synthwave parties. But strictly? Probably not.
I'm not even nostalgic, I am just in love with this sound
I used to be really into nostalgia.

Nothing like that 80s synth wave.

John Carpenter and Daft Punk had a child together...this is that child's lullaby. Nice
Thom T's oooouuu this comment
Is his name "Carpenter Brut"?
Yes
Smokin precis comment!
Daft Punk has nothing to do with it. Thousands of bands sounded like this long before DP ever existed.
10 seconds in and i love it already
niv skillsurf that's me for but that a degree of a king I win
Yea, cause you can totally tell if you love an album after listening to ten seconds out of a one hour album.
its a mix, not an album. And i have listened to this thing from start to finish about 10 times now so yes i do love it thanks for questioning my comment
That opening mix song goes really hard though...

The 80s isn't just about a movie or a collection of pop culture elements. It's a state of mind.
wolfmanjacksaid Ever seen the movie After Hours? It’s like that.
It’s a span of time between 1979 & 1990
@@markallan5928 great film. Thanks!

I dare to say: IT'S the best to date!
The BEST one hands down

This music is what automatically plays in my head all the time, no matter where I am or what i'm doing. It gets pretty annoying when i'm in bed trying to sleep.
it gets me pumped to work out, in the zone to do work, relaxed to sleep.

OP did a fantastic job of transition from one song to another. The transition to occult and the transition to screams and whispers made both songs better in my opinion. Great job, man!
This is the music genre I didn't know I loved.
Oh man, already excited for this one, did get into this genre not long ago, so happy to see this in my sub feed. Fuck yeah! :D
It's crazy all the good stuff that's out there right now. People like to talk about how much music sucks and how there's just no good stuff being made, but really there is more than ever right now. Everyday I find new genres and artists that just blow me away. It's an exciting time to be alive, let's just hope we stay that way :)

I was a little kid in the 80s, I used to ride my bike with my friends and go everywhere, we played Nintendo, at home I would draw dragons, cyborgs snd aliens. This music evokes some of those memories of an enchanted childhood, as an adult I often have this kind of music on when I am doing art.

Wow. As a child of the 70's, this really brings back memories.
I keep coming back to this... really hit the nail on the head with this one
Right around Halloween time I sent an email to the NewRetroWave channel asking if they would like me to do a mix for them and when they said yes this was what I came up with. It's a pretty awesome channel with a strong following so I knew that I needed to come correct and I was quite pleased with how it came out. I plan on making Halloween 2017 a big deal on this channel, maybe like a hell week or something like that. Nightmares for everyone :)
I'll have to check out that channel, can't wait for that spooky 2017 mix
Hehe, me neither. I started working on it today even. Halloween might come early :)
Monix Nameson Hey what is the name of the tv show of the character of your avatar pic?

This is by far my favorite retro synthwave mix. Thank you!!
Still feeling the 80's as a 43yr old in 2022! If I said I never thought the 80's sound was the sound of the future back then, I'd be a total liar - And yet, here we are - And I'm amazed at how much "Synthwave" has become a thing. Pure. Distilled. 80's. Takes me right back to being a little kid getting blown away by smoke machines, neon & strobes whilst on family holidays abroad or wedding discos, etc. The 80's are alive and well!
I am 30 I wish I was there with you in the 80s
Thats because humanity peaked in 1979........
Usually come here for the trip hop but daaaamn this shit is dope. thanx for introducing me to something new! love you channel!
Thanks. I think a lot of people find this channel through those trip hop mixes, but there is really an incredible array of music here. Each year things change quite a bit here and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble I can get into in 2017. Let's hope for lots :) Thanks for the comment!

''A Retro Darkwave Horror Synth Special'' those are all words I need in my life.
Excellent beat maching. Few people would appreciate how difficult this is to seamlessly pull off.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLANT MIX!!!! and thanks for the fantastic discoveries along the way!
I remember the first time i watched Terminator 2. I was 11 Years old and i stoled the VHS cassette, at the night, from my brothers room. He was Playing Eagle's Nest on Commodore, and did not noticed, that I was in his room to bribe him. I finished watching this movie, and all i say was "cool" i switch, the SCART Cable to my SNES and played Alien 3 because i cant sleep before 4 o'clock at night. Good damn old times!
I was probably 11 too. At my friends house because there was no way in hell that my parents would let me watch that. The only thing I really remember is that scene with the milk jug and the T -1000 talking in the voice of his mom. Oh, that was awesome. Best action movie ever!!!
I was 12, and I remember the Commodore 64 and Amiga, too. Alien 3 was also a fave on the Megadrive.
But the birds awake at like 5:00 to 5:30 AM.
Those were the days huh? TBH, I regard Terminator (1984) and T2 (1991) as representing their respective decades distinctly... interesting that people associate T2 with the 80's. I see why but just in my head, I view it as VERY 90's.
In the summer I was at my grandparents (as every summer) in a small town and my older cousin wanna watch "It". Unfortunatly I was sleeping in the living room (with the only TV-Screen) and so he watched it, while I should sleep on the couch.... well that was the plan... It was 1987 or 1988, so I was 8 or 9yrs old. At the end of that movie my Cousin was going to his room and said: "Can´t you hear IT... It is coming trough the stovepipe". Nevertheless to say, I couldn´t sleep the whole night...
This is what you listen to as you ride down the street of the city at night on your crotch rocket, with your crew. The city glistening in the distance, passing you by, speeding through the tunnels with orange lights filling your vision. Following the curve as the rush of adrenaline fills your body and slowly takes you over to a dangerously addicting level.
too much Akira son. get out more
Even with ear plugs and helmet-insert over-ear speakers, you're still not doing yourself a lot of favors, and that's why those Harleys with the speakers on them are always BLASTING whatever they're listening to.

get earplug headphones, I had a built GSX-R 1000 with full yoshi exhaust that was loud as shit and I could hear my music at 150mph on the highway. I now have a victory vegas 8-ball, again with full exhaust and hear my perturbator playlist fine.

I'm not normally a fan of this, but I like listening to this while I work, as opposed to (and especially in comparison to) my co-workers.
If you ever feel ignored or miffed by your coworkers..... Next time you are at work do this: While playing this mix, place a set of black leather gloves neatly on the corner of your desk, then rotate and face the door. Scoot down in the chair just a bit. Tilt your head forward about 30% while staring into the abyss and maintain a look as though someone is holding something foul-smelling under your nose. No matter what anyone asks when they walk by, only answer by saying "NOTHING" in a dead-pan fashion. You won't believe how much this will change your workplace dynamic!
Thanks dude!!! you managed to get myself a warning from HR... fcking shit.!
@2jetskis I did this and got a 25k raise and a 2018 M4 as a company car.... I think it scared my boss or something? Highly recommend.
