It always amazed me what you can do with the Starcraft 2 editor, you can make a game in a game. Love the freedom it allows, it's one of a kind in the industry. I think Blizzard should work together with community modders even more to explore whats possible! Aside from that, it's pricey compared to the cost of the fullgame, but that's quite normal practice for DLC unfortunately. Basically 8 of those fun maps equal the price of the SC2 Standard Edition. Personally i am not target audience for paid maps in a fullprice title, but i am sure the fans will happily donate.
My wallet for Aiur!
Sell my soul for Aiur!
Oh f$ck yes! TRPG Diablo4 confirmed. Like if Final Fantasy and Diablo has a baby
well that is pretty awesome. Definitely gonna give it a try
this looks great
i would buy this as a separate game.
Altron i think you have to buy it anyway XD
Good, cause that's kinda the idea.
They should make their own version of Kerrigan Survival. :D
Cool but TOSH FOR CO-OP WHEN?
uh starcraft you might wanna look at your description from a customer prospective. its showing me ark survival evolved.
This is pretty much like when someone offers to pay you in visibility for your work. If these guys did get payed to develop these maps or else they could get like 90% from the sells income, I would be ok with this scenario. Otherwise, $lizzard-Activi$ion did it again.
"a share of the sales will go directly to the developers who made them"
Yeah, what share? 5%?
They also allow the developers to build the entire game with starcraft 2 assets, blizzard basically did more then half the work for them in terms of development.
The split is definitely in my favor
Visibility. And art assets. And game engine.
when are you going to make starcraft MMO ?
It is in the arcade already. It's called SC Universe: Beyond Koprulu.
Why so much hate? This deserves a little $$, and it does not affect game balance AT ALL. Small micro transactions that add content is not just forgivable, but welcomed. Besides, SC provides way more content that any other game at the same price. Great work into the game and Thanks for constantly improving/ introducing new things!
i bought & finished it. It was rly nice, but very short so..
I can't drop or give the dog tags to Medic Leone. Any hints?
Do you have all 5?
Omg. No. :D But In the meanwhile I made a play-through! Well done Sir well done!
I could buy this, looks really well polished
Out of curiosity does it have multiplayer?
Daniel Dameron Probably not, but it's very possible.
I would be laughing if they made this Starcraft mode like the Final Fantasy series.
I was salty, but look at this!!!
is this Single or Multi?
Andre Chan Single
Throw in some cheevos and im in.
Where's that standard shill voice you guys use in every other promotional video when you need it?
Con ese arcade hubieran hecho el Diablo 2!
Very cool!!!
not sure how i feel about this from what i understand in a statement made by blizzard i am paying blizzard who will then give a portion of what paid to the people that made the maps. so why don't we just buy the maps the the people that make them so they get the full amount instead of blizzard trying to cash in on other people work (in a way yes i know in there game but did blizzard make the map no)
well these map creators are using blizzard platform to launch the game and that blizzard has somewhat advertised it on their behalf. without blizzard being the middleman this would be a new game on a new engine which many of us would not know of.
This is pretty much like when someone offers to pay you in visibility for your work. If these guys did get payed to develop these maps or else they could get like 90% from the sells income, I would be ok with this scenario. Otherwise, $lizzard-Activi$ion did it again.
You guys are right blizzard did not make the maps. I'm not in favor of paid mods but blizzard DID make the character models the audio the UI and everything elsme. Making games is expensive and they clearly don't make enough from loot boxes in OverWatch and Hearthstone.
Advo they need to make money from starcraft 2 too, they cannot rely on other game to sustain starcraft 2 maintenance cost.
It's also using blizzard's IP
So basically paid mods. Well lets see if Blizzard are as unlucky as Bethesda. Or if the community is as forgiving.
Sarik Rana The community have been always asking for microtransactions... In this way we support the development of starcraft, remember that Blizzard is a company that pays to its employees in order to maintain StarCraft, it is not charity...
Karlo Marcos Reyes the community has been asking for micro transactions?? That's a first. Also the charity part is laughable. Spoken like company PR bs. So EA also had to add MT to pay it's employees. I wonder why everyone got mad over nothing.
If I was still playing SC2, this would be a good reason to leave.
What's wrong with being paid for your work?
+Господин Юрий Modders didn't have to be paid before and made hundreds of brilliant mods. Now less people are going to be inclined to play your mods with a paywall for a game you already had to pay for.
Ok this looks kind of cool.
Comonnnn blizzard!!!!!! Make this happen for real!!!!
Great movement for Blizzard. Maybe someone would say Dota is also a mod or map for Warcraft 3. Nevertheless, it worthes a large amount of income proved by the market. If the same level work comes from the mod developer, I'll give my 5 dollars or even more. If the mod values 5 dollars, buy it. If not, wait the next one. Check steam for RPG maker indies. Do you really think it looks better than the sc2 mod???
So right now people compare blizzard company with EA ?? What seriously ?!! They are not the same blizzard deliver quality content to it's community unlike EA who just messing around.
The Diablo team would like to have a word with you. Battle for Azeroth would like to have a word with you.
mmm not like I would like a sanctus reach with starcraft universe, not rpg, army vs army turn based
I have bought all dlc's to starcraft 2 and now blizzard wants the rest of my walet. I dont like it Blizzard
You need it? You like it? You want to support that developer? If the answer to any of these question or all of them is no then... Ok, do not buy it, no one is telling you to do it. PD: from a person who has all deluxe editions of blizzard titles :P
UR JUST GREEDY!1210409410413434 questioning the allmighty will of Blizzard is not acceptable!
that weren't dlc's that were complete new games
Direct Strike, not so much. This? Yea, I'd buy this.
Blizzard: Starcraft is a small indie company.
Oh god. Blizzard is now doing paid mods
DrScaphandre i dont know how big this map/mod is, but i think it will be worth the money compared to call of duty 65 or battlefield 54
RoyalRumble It’s $5 for four hours of gameplay. Don’t defend paid mods.
DrScaphandre where can i find info about how long it is?
RoyalRumble Reddit. This is what the mod maker himself said.
DrScaphandre ah ok. Well we will see what it is. I can be angry about it later. Blizzard didnt disappoint me yet, so no reason to be suspicious. (Im not talking about destiny its not a blizzard game, and not starting a discussion about that piece of junk :))
Tactical? I see not movement and positioning. Looks more like a classic turn based combat system :(
Rui Castro Look up rogue star on the arcade. It was made by the same modder as this. Rogue star, ARK star. They are basically the same game (though rogue star was really short. Obviously ark star will be much bigger). It's fire emblem and/or xcom series but in the Starcraft universe.
paid mods? oh, i forgot, you are just small indie company, sorry
Technically *I* (the developer) am a small indie company
It didn't work for Bethesda games because steam was keeping 70% of all the money. Here, Blizz might not do the same and we don't have the nexus mod manager to substitute
second!
Paid mods in Blizzard. What a slippery slope, wack.
Paid mods is not okay when it's Bethesda games or anything of the sort but when Blizzard does it, it's okay?
RaveBeef na this is just the start, so fans are being fanboys, just wait and you will see the same reaction as Bethesda once they realized that paid mods are a scam
don't listen to Blizzard's idiotic butt boy army, their damage control is weak at best.
What are you even talking about lol, most people on this comment section are bitching about it.
dumb fanboys defending another milking company , just don't support that.
Nice to see another company taking advantage of micro transactions, and becoming even more deplorable. You have lost all of my respect.
first!
turn-based. no thank you
