How's is no one taking about the fact that Kevin was brought back to do the voice over for the Mengsk and Deathwing trailers for StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm respectively. His voice over is the best reason why these trailers sound so good.
More than half the comments were about Kevin in the Deathwing trailer lol. He really cemented his legacy with HotS, moreso than SC2.

This Co-op Commander reminds me to Dawn of War, where you can equip your units with special weapons and reinforce morality with sergeants
The whole bit of the conscripts picking up the weapons of the fallen reminds me of Stalingrad Riverbank in Call of Duty 1. "The man with the rifle shoots! The man without the rifle follows! When the man with the rifle is killed, the man without the rifle picks up the rifle and shoots!" For some reason, that line stuck out for me.
For those of you who didn't see Mengsk showcased at Blizzcon, look carefully at the flying siege tanks in the background 2:18. They hit air units.

i personally am waiting for tosh but i have to say the play-style of mengsk is interesting. lots of poor trained well equipped soldiers and few yet high trained elite soldiers is quite the army.

This commander is actually based on two mechanics from Warcraft 3: Hero units and the human Call to Arms.
I do miss the individual unit talent progression mechanic from C&C. This is a cool callback.

@@sovietheavy5500 Yes, the infantry is practically the same as the Imperium of Man soldiers in Dawn of War, but Exterminatus would be a little bit more than 41 nukes, it could be thousands or millions maybe? I don't know, but all life in the planet is eradicated, not just a sector, it would be GG for both sides, but no one would be left to type "GG". Additional note: usually they use Cyclonic torpedoes, as they are so powerful even one may be enough to incinerate all life in the surface or blow the planet from its core

Which parts? I was mostly responding to the ability for new soldiers to pick up the upgrades and abilities of the dead soldiers. I thought that was really cool. I haven't played a CC game since Red Alert 2 and I wasn't aware that it was a part of that franchise, sorry.

You see... his calldowns seem kinda strong
They run on a kind of energy similar to Protoss Spear of Adun calldowns, but Mengsk's energy doesn't regenerate on its own. They're strong because you have to consciously work for it.

from the time when the co-op mode is released I always wanted to play as Mengsk, though I thought it'd be somewhat difficult to become true. well the dream is finally here. you can finally play as the old terran dominion itself.

I need to start playing this game again. This is absolutely insane. The last time I was interested in SC2 was when Stukov came out.
Oh look, they finally added in the Command & Conquer mechanics into Starcraft 2!!!! For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, in C&C starting Tiberium Sun, your troops can be upgraded to Veteran and Elite status. While Veteran status have no major effects, Elite status gives the units a major firepower and attack speed boost. Say in Red Alert 2, if you have 3 Elite rank Apocalypse Tank, it is enough to destroy an entire base. Plus, they can heal themselves. It is pretty overpowered but it takes a long time to get to that point. Apocalypse Tanks are overpowered units by itself next to the Kirovs. SC2 is actually C&C in spirit since Dustin Browder actually worked on Red Alert 2 and Generals, so it is a pretty good comparison.
Command & Conquer meets StarCraft. Leveling up units, flamethrower infantry...

Would love to see Warfield as a Coop commander. Edit: Another idea is Niadra, the queen that commanders the Protoss ship in HOTS. Her story is expanded upon in the comics, but she is left with no way to communicate with Kerrigan. She could be the equivalent of Stukov with infested Protoss and buffed up psionic abilities.
That could actually be very interesting! Make his tech kind of a callback to SC1 Terran, since he's an older commander, but maybe also make them similar to Protoss with the higher cost but higher strength units because it's an army of old veterans. Make Warfield himself a playable hero since he seems like a lead from the front kinda guy, toss in some appropriate special abilities and mega units, voila!
Glass Wolf That’s a solid design. Perhaps not as technology or speciality focused as Nova, but frontline units that are tougher and do more damage then standard M&M with beefed up tanks. And he’s definitely a fight from the front guy. Have him with his cybernetic arm with multiple attack forms. I really like that idea.
