As an overseas citizen myself; Trump was a laughing stock around the world. He pulled out of several international agreements and overall conducted himself in a very unpresedential matter: Trying to kiss chancellor Merkel, arriving late at his visit with the Queen etc. He was liked in China and Russia because they knew he was an incompetent leader and so was easier to control.
You MUST be joking. He was hated by many of the US's allies. Absolutely not respected. Cities like Hamburg literally rioted over his visits (2020 G20).
