On this episode, Seth is joined by Marketing Director, Neil Davies and special guest, Donald Trump Jr. at the Dallas Safari Club show. The guys start the conversation with how Don was introduced to hunting and shooting sports at a young age and how he dove into the science and art of long-range shooting. The conversation wraps up with Don’s involvement with the Field Ethos brand and his dedication to conservation around the world. We hope you enjoy the show!

  • For those that don't know or remember it was Don Trump Jr. that was able to kill the pebble mine project which would have devastated the Bristol Bay and surrounding areas had it been approved to be built. He went toe to toe with his father and ultimately persuaded his dad to can the project. A huge win for sportsman.

    • Has he went toe to toe with his dad on red flag law and raising the age to buy firearms? How about making the ATF more powerful and emboldened??? Just curious because I’ve yet to see Trump acknowledge he was wrong much less apologize.. All I’ve seen of Don Jr. is asking me to donate to his father’s campaign so his father can be one shooting away from advocating I be one crazy liberal away from unconstitutional backdoor confiscation.

  • Unrelated to the episode, but can you guys discuss sometime how the backstop in which the rifle is shooting against effects velocity. ie… lead sled vs light into the shoulder vs hard into shoulder or loading up the bipod. And consistency of shoulder pressure and how it creates variability. May also explain why many shooters can’t replicate box listed velocities, compared to your test barrels and setups. But I don’t think a lot of shooters consider this or understand its importance as much as they should. I’ve noticed noticeable changes in velocity. Maybe a podcast on shooting form or position. How shooting from a bench or prone, and taking that dope to the field, where the situation or conditions force you to deviate and how it could effect down range accuracy.

I think the deer population in several parts of the country is textbook on this subject. I always joke that we don’t have to worry about cattle becoming extinct. And may God bless and guide the Trump family. You guys at Hornady aren’t so bad either.

  • Show Title: "Donald Trump Jr. | Hunting, Shooting & Conservation" but I just noticed an American flag in the background of the video thumbnail. Does the flag represent hunting, shooting, or conservation? ... nope I hope the responses to this video have prompted editorial discussions within Hornady on the mission of this podcast.

    • American flag is divisive? Lmao 😂

      @dethmgnt4257@dethmgnt4257Ай бұрын
    • @@dethmgnt4257 Incorporating the American flag into media can carry profound connotations, often tied to patriotism and national pride. However, its presence should be contextual and meaningful, especially in thematic content discussions like those on Hornady's podcast. While Donald Trump Jr. is recognized for his patriotic stance, the flag's visual inclusion here does not align coherently with the show's stated focus on hunting, shooting, and conservation. Rather than enriching the dialogue, it appears to serve as a backdrop for brand identity or ideological signaling, which may inadvertently foster division among viewers. As a responsible media producer, Hornady should be mindful of these symbols' usage and strive for a unifying rather than divisive atmosphere within their podcast's community. However, it’s obvious these higher concepts and big words exceed the capacity of some people’s comprehension.

  • Let me clarify my earlier comment. The legitimate shooting community has a brand identity. The name Trump has a brand identity. Hornady has a brand identity. As a proud possessor of a Hornady "40x40" hat, I don't want to leave it in the closet because it is associated with a brand as controversial as that of Trump. The shooting community brand is controversial as it is. Adding to that controversy by associating it with an even more controversial brand does a disservice to the community. We as a shooting community need to keep our heads down. That's all I was saying.

    @user-rj6td1nn8u@user-rj6td1nn8u2 ай бұрын
    • There is no such thing as the shooting community keep their heads down. The dems are coming for the 2A community every 5mins. If you want to continue to enjoy that lifestyle then you may want to accept that controversial people are doing more to fight for your rights then just keeping your head down and hiding in a corner. Either you stand for something or you stand for nothing.

  • I’m disappointed with Hornady. While I understand the importance of diverse viewpoints and open dialogue, the inclusion of such a polarizing figure is causing significant conflict among your viewers, including myself. Hornady has been known for its quality content focused on shooting sports, hunting, and outdoor gear, which I have always appreciated. However, this particular episode seems to deviate from the core interests and values that initially attracted me and many others to your platform. I believe it’s crucial for Hornady to remain a neutral space where all enthusiasts can come together without the divisiveness of politics overshadowing our shared passion. I hope future content will better reflect the inclusive spirit of the shooting and hunting community.

    • I stand with @glockmarksman on this one. It’s not about being offended; it’s about keeping our community welcoming for everyone. We’re here because we love shooting sports, not to get caught up in political squabbles. When we start bringing in controversial figures, it shifts the focus away from our shared passion and can make some folks feel out of place. To those saying we need to “toughen up” or making jokes about “commies,” come on, let’s keep the eye on the ball. We’re all here to enjoy our hobby and learn from each other, not to gatekeep or push people away. @glockmarksman is just asking for us to remember what brings us together in the first place. Let’s not forget that respect and understanding go a long way in keeping our community strong and united.
