  • Thanks for sharing Miles, i have to say cloudy, overcast ,wind ,that is screaming power reaction baits for sure. Lol.I guess with fishing for post spawners you want that slower presentation.Nice bag of fish!!!

  • I love fishing the Carolina Rig, and I won a tournament on Kentucky Lake fishing a Lizard across a pea gravel bar,and I caught a 7.11 lmb, and a 6.6 smallie 😜🏆 and those two kickers locked me in 🎉 I fished a club tournament today and my partner was C-rigging, and we were on a rocky point sitting in 15’ and dragging through 6-8’ sweet spot. I had a ZMAN Fatty on a tungsten shakyhead 😜 and put 4 in the live well, but there’s nothing better than ticking rocks and getting bites😜🎣🍀🍀🎣🙏😇🙏

  • Can't beat a Carolina rig! I actually throw a hybrid of carolina rig/ texas rig. I use 2 bobber stops. One on each side of my weight so I can peg the weight any distance from my hook & change it on the fly. Or I can peg my weight to my bait, or slide the the top peg up the line so my weight can slide freely like a regular texas rig. I don't know what to call it? But I've been doing it around 4ish years & keep a rod dedicated to it all year. So versatile can use any weight, any baits. Besides big swimbaits, & some frogs. That rig has caught me the rest of my biggest largemouth. Using it with big worms or big soft plastics like 7" flukes & the big bellows gill

  • I was doing something similar with my jig last week and found a few. Dragging it was a drag but, it's the only way I could get bit. Maybe I'll give this a try as it's been really tough sledding lately!

    • @@SonarFishing It didn't work out with all of the muck on the bottom. I just kept getting hung up and, I suppose the bait was nearly invisible within that stuff. My fish bite better when they can see the bait and, they like it hopped or even stroked off the bottom. Thanks

  • There's no doubt about it that I've caught more fish and more big fish on a Carolina rig then anything else... It's the 1st real technique I learned as a kid on Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn but I've caught fish everywheres else I've been as well. That's probably why I keep 2 rods rigged up on my front deck year around with one. Great video as always keepem coming brother

  • Does it work for spawning fish

    @justenoughfishing@justenoughfishingАй бұрын
    • It does, but it isn’t my favorite presentation for spawners. I like something where the weight is close to the bait.

  • Will braid work for the main line? I only have one 7’6” heavy rod with an 8.3:1 gear ratio reel but I usually have 30 pound braid on it.

    @jonbullard7074@jonbullard7074Ай бұрын
    • i prefer braid. takes the stretch out of the mainline and really ups 'feel'. i struggled with fish swallowing baits a lot before I switched to braid as mainline. keep an eye on your line though. tungsten weights can quickly fray the mainline. and losing heavy tungsten weights hurts the wallet.

      @kurtbecker9609@kurtbecker9609Ай бұрын
    • Only in grass , Braid is horrible around rocks and wood .

      @bobbybass1944@bobbybass194425 күн бұрын
    • I really would suggest agains braid. It doesn’t do well around rocks and wood, and also has very little stretch at all, which makes it more likely to cause you to break your lighter leader material.

  • Or another fish is biting and spits it out just in time and when you yank to set the hook it snags another fish

  • I don't understand how to cast a Carolina Rig.

    @techtiger38@techtiger38Ай бұрын
    • It’s more of a side cast. It’s very important to allow the rod to load up with the weight of the rig throughout the cast. It definitely takes practice.

      @SonarFishing@SonarFishingАй бұрын
    • One way to think of it is like throwing out an anchor. You’re not going to throw it over your head, you’re going to rotate it from the side, let centrifugal force keep the line tight as you rotate towards your target, and then let go. If that makes any sense.

      @SonarFishing@SonarFishingАй бұрын
    • @@SonarFishing it does, it doesn't feel natural. I can see how you can land big fish with it.
