One Shania coaching session & she's a different singer. Her enunciation, tone and projection are so clear and powerful. That help was exactly what she needed to reach another level with her beautiful voice.

She is near the top, although if I had to pick an American Idol winner right now I’d pick Jack Blocker. You know how previous winners come back and perform and you think, if they were competing against the Top 24 tonight, they’d sweep. It kinda shocks you back into reality and makes you notice who is up there at that caliber and who kind of isn’t. Kabrienne is still some years of practice from being that polished, but Jack and Will specifically are ready to be pros. And, well, Will is.

This was crazy good And don’t even @ me, I correctly predicted all of the Top 8 before it was announced. This was an objectively high-achieving musical performance, whether you personally liked it for your taste or not.
I have to admit I'm bummed Kayko was cut. I'd (easily) sacrifice one of the 3 remaining country singers to keep Kayko.
And you're right--very strong vocal performance---though not my taste.
@@lisagrad8734I like Kayko a lot as an artist and I think he shines most when he’s performing his own music. In some ways he’s not really fit for a singing contest-we can admit as he often does that he’s not an exceptionally skilled vocalist. So it makes sense to me that he was cut, especially because the verses of his performance last night were unacceptably weak. The choruses and the breakdown were good, certainly passable, but yeah, overall it was weak in comparison to the stronger contendors.
But Kayko's dynamo stage presence and delivery makes up for his singing weakness. I actually thought he sang quite well overall.

She is on the right path - she needs more rest and can trust your voice. Sometimes less is more - and there is more room for nuance. In some songs it felt like she wanted too much - but her calm voice also has nice vibes that have an effect. She has to learn to trust herself and her voice.
