Shatner being deep and philosophical and the rest of them popping champagne just shows you the absolute best and worst of humanity all at once.
In shatner you see the wisdom of age and the maturity of being 90 years old ! He not only is the oldest person to go into space, he is not a professional astronaut as John Glenn was. His discription of going into space was the best I ever heard and I remember the Apollo program !
Ah yes, people who survived something pretty high risk having different emotional responses. Definitely the worst of humanity. Grow up my child.
also zero respect for their elders,
Generational difference... Someone having a profound understanding of life... and then a bunch of idiots celebrating themselves and want to post on Facebook as quickly as possible
Absolutely glad Shatner went there.
The difference between wisdom and youth: profound revelations vs. champagne and screaming
Precisely my thoughts!
indeed they did not fully take and grasp the experience and the whole meaning of what they went through and i was like shut up(over the screaming) im trying to hear this lol
@Gunnar Nelson i actually found more respect for him in how he was interacting with shatner ,a piece of his humanity was shining through a bit there so i dont agree fully with you
He's Canadian.
Na, I found it pretty cringe that he just start talking. Everyone adrenalines pumping, and he just turn the attention to himself. You'll have plenty of time after to discuss your feeling.
Hearing the wonder in William Shatner's words while others are celebrating as if it's a bachelorette really makes you realize that he's the only one who really gets what this experience means for humanity as a whole and confirms that in his heart he really is our Captain Kirk! It's a shame we could barely hear him as the others were screaming and laughing so much.
It’s a beautiful representation of the wisdom of age vs. the carelessness of youth
@@elijahgavin6706 Youth?..most of the people there were 40 + , I think it shows something else.. to do with character, yes his advanced age would make it more profound for him but they should shut up and listen to him .. all of us should..listen to our elders , then party . Came off disrespectful.
Shatner trying to explain his experience while bezos and everyone else acts like children lol

Sad that Bill had no one to welcome him back, but this is a big part of reaching the age of 90 and seeing all of your closest friends pass away before you. I think this underscores his emotions and comments about the fragility of life on planet Earth. Bill, we were watching you and welcoming you back virtually. Glad it was a smooth flight and something you will forever remember.

Bezos, who already went, looks like he has no idea what Shatner is talking about.
Everyone can hear music but not everyone can truly listen. Sure, Bezos went to space, but like a duck hearing a Mahler Symphony, he wasn't really listening. He was simply a passive bystander. Shatner had his antenni fully deployed and actively soaked in the experience. While everyone else was goofing around in 0 G, Shatner was "listening".

@@CosmicTeapot That's a great analogy of a duck hearing a Mahler Symphony. Maybe Bezos was all prepped up for a dumb loud 'woohoo' ceremony for the cameras and wasn't sure what to do when Shatner started. Either way this was a brilliant move to put Capt. Not going to lie, I was driving in the truck listening to him and was crying like a baby. James T Kirk finally got his own space voyage. I believe Shatner's age also has a lot to do with how much more emotional he was than his crew members. When you're Shatner's age, you've seen it all, so experiencing something so miraculous is going to impact you more profoundly than a younger person---especially as it relates to life and death. He is such an awesome human being.
I know we make light of the fact that we just sent Captain James Tiberius Kirk into space for real. But his reaction is the most genuine for us. He knows at 90 he doesn't have the same amount of time left in this life than his crewmates. For them, their reactions were genuine for them. We may not think that, but as they get older, and they have grandchildren, space travel and tourism might be commonplace. But they'll get to share that the guy on the hundred-year-old TV show that Star Trek film #36 or something is based on rode with them on a rocket when it wasn't so common. How cool is that?

Hello 👋 i hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the world 🙏🌍 I'm originally from Canada currently living in Key West Florida and you where are you from if i may ask?
How amazing Shatner’s words are here. We love this earth and we cannot lose it. It is what connects us all and keeps us alive. We must respect and care for our home. It is mine, it is yours, it is all of ours.
God bless William Shatner: He said more about going to space than all the other astronauts combined, Take it to heart world.
Send more actors/poets/musicians/writers into space, and less champagne-spraying entitled rich people. Bezos could do humanity a giant favor by giving creatives constant free access to these flights, like save 1-2 seats each flight for artists. We need to hear about the earth and space from those who can articulate it well, like Shatner.
This, this right here is the best thing I have read today. You just the the internet my dude. o7
Well we could all listen and watch the likes of Neil deGrasse Tyson who is extremely educated and very articulate talking about science and how we know what we know about earth, the stars, climate, vaccines. Unfortunately nearly half of all Americans have closed their ears to all this stuff and now anything there is evidence for they don’t believe but then believe stuff where there is no evidence. It’s staggering but true. Republicanism and evangelical Christianity are strangling the education of many, many people… but they ‘know’ they are right so why should they listen, study or believe? The earth is flat, we never stood on the moon, evolution hasn’t been shown as fact but creationism has, masks don’t work, vaccines are magnetised … and on and on and on…
Those "artists" would be people like, Bidens son, or another rich insane person.
@@patrikpass2962 feck that.
@@roppa789 Im an atheist, and i think the vaccine mandates are insane. You should read history, i suggest about Hitler or Stalin, and the stages to dictatorship. It's not always about religious paranoia, sometimes people with power try to grab more power. Its your responsibility to care about your friends and family first, that will automatically care for the community, its not your responsibility to love the government in every situation, if you do, its just a matter of time before someone abuse it. And since we a dealing with medicine, you should be pretty damn sure before you alienate people who do think.
Wonderful experience for Shatner. At first, I thought he wasn't going to get the chance to air his feelings with Bezos more worried about the bloody champagne, but finally.... 💝

Seeing Shatner humbled and nearly speechless, what a treat. I'm happy to see the captain really go there. Brings back memories of what Kirk said to Captain Christopher in "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" in their last meeting on the Enterprise bridge.
William Shatner is completely moved. Regardless of the reason, what Jeff Bezos did for the world's number 1 Captain Kirk, was nothing short of amazing.
Thanks Gene Roddenberry, for made the people dream with this moment.

We need to thank Lucille Ball while we are at it.
@@magnetar2427 Yeah, its like no one notices that the Star Trek themed is a rearrangement of the I Love Lucy theme.
@@springbloom5940 I think it was more a reference to the fact Star Trek was produced by DesiLu.
Thank you for sending OUR Captain into space… the final frontier!
I'm so happy that our Captain Kirk ( William Shatner) was able to have this experience! He spent most of his acting career taking us where no man has gone before....he deserved this journey.
William Shatner: It requires to have an actor to describe the experience which never actually happened. I'm proud.
I’m so happy for Shatner. He deserves this! Yet I’m heartbroken that it’s Bezos who is listening and cannot come close to comprehending the profundity of what Shatner is saying.
'Listening'? Not really😂 mans ignoring the guy that's pouring his heart out to him. I want to see a whole interview from Shatner because unlike bazos I actually care.
Absolute shame that they could not have let him finished his thought before they got the champagne. Would have really wanted to have heard his full expression uninterrupted.
Fun fact: In ancient times people watched the space move, they got tired after 24 hours and called it a day.
Alzheimer's ridden, fake President Biden's an International Weakling and Laughingstock
I see what you did there
Ok boomer

Most popular President ever! 😂😂😂 kzhead.info/sun/mMilgpeBoHqDiI0/bejne.html
The patience Shatner showed to all the ignorance is very profound. Amazing what he experienced....his awakening.
As weird as this whole thing was, it was also kind of beautiful seeing how emotional William was. I’m happy for him.
