You are going to destroy my marriage. Now I want goats. My wife says I get too many bad ideas from that Oklahoma guy on KZhead 😁
That's funny !
I’m in Australia and I’m loving these videos. Everyone I watch makes me want to give up the rat race buy some land and raise some goats.
Goats are actually the worst.
@Daddy do you like evil alpacas and not goats
@@BigGirthyRod pop l lol
You are a really funny guy! It's entertaining to watch and listen to your facts about goats!
Great video! I compare our goats to toddlers. They want to play and have your attention. They are picky eaters. They fight with their friends over treats. They explore the world with their mouths. "Hmm, that boot looks interesting. What's in there?" or "You've done something new with your hair. Let me check it out."
Goats are loving animals. Even my buck Shadow is a good boy. They are very smart and can be trained.
mine are a pain in the tush, destroying things
I love Bears input! You are so patient with him, love it :)
Love goats. Second tastiest animal behind ducks. Good channel. Good quality production.
we have a pair of house trained goats ... these are myths ...They don't stink and they love everyone ...They are nicer than most dogs . The one that won't leave you alone is soooo cool ...Awwwwwwwww
At 4:45 Bear is eating some goat food as well. Gotta love it !
Back in September, I went to a county fair for a country music concert...but ended up spending more time in the animal barns checking out the cows, sheep, chickens, horses and goats. I think I spent more time in the goat barn than in the other barns. There was something about those goats that just captivated me. Especially the Lamancha goats....they didn't have ears! Most of the goats came right up the the pen gates to be petted, to check me out, to rub their heads on the palms of my hands. I realized that night that goats are really just 4 wheel drive dogs. They have amazing personalities if you take the time to get to know them, they are social, they respond to humans and love the interaction....but they can climb the freaking walls!
I agree.
Almost spit my coffee laughing when you dumped a bucket of cans for the goats!!🤣🤣
I have been loving my goats. And I think that they like me. We bottle fed three of the four when we got them. They try to "taste" us when we go into the pens with them. And they will get behind me and push and nudge me. Usually they just want some attention. A good petting and talking usually takes care of that.Of course, sometimes they are trying to get the hay that I am trying to put into the container for them too. They have been so much fun. I have not regretted getting them yet. Not even when we were in the negatives this winter. I do feel bad for my two girls because they both lost their babies. So I am trying to breed them for late summer/early fall babies.
Your goats are beautiful . Thanks for sharing 🌷
Goats are amazing animals to have, especially Kiko goats! I always laugh about these, especially on the tin-can myth. Some people, lol.
Looking at kiko goats for meat and milk. Thanks for busting myths
Thanks for this video. You made my morning better just watching you interact with the goats and Bear.
they love peanuts and we kept a mineral block for ours
Good stuff! We love our goats! People ask us these things all the time. Haha.
The more goat videos I watch, the more I want to add some more to the farm!
I had my work goat tied to my tractor and he ate the wiring to my lights lol but no tin cans. My buck head butted me once during breeding season and without thinking I turned and threw a punch right in his nose and he hasn’t tried since. Instead of mowing our lawn with them I’ll tie them where I can’t get a bush hog works real good.
*LOL! YOU SERIOUSLY GAVE THEM CANS! That's HILARIOUS!*
Loved the video. One smart mama Goat. She knows where the good stuff is. LOL
I have kikos too and yea people that don't have goats always think they eat everything..but goats are pretty dang picky on what they eat too..but I love them
It's is amazing what people will believe. That's why it's good to do videos like this and the ones that different farmers do. Thanks for sharing as always.
I had goats in my yard for several years and you're right, they make terrific pets. I believe the myth about eating tin cans comes from goats eating the paper label on the tin can. Of course, they can't eat metal. One of the things I enjoyed was putting a leash on a baby goat and taking her for a walk. Try to do that with a day-old dog or cat. P.S. I only had female goats. You're right about the smell.
Bear wants some love too & a video all about him
By the way, I absolutely Loved growing up around all those silly goats. Glad for the experience of coming from a family that wasn't afraid of the hard work that farming takes, knowing the rewards are many.
Great video! I smiled so big when she went after the treats in your left shirt pocket. That's always where I keep my goat treats too and the does will sometimes stick their nose in my pocket too, and that's no myth :)

Watch the 4:50 mark, Big Bear lets one of the goats know who's BOSS !!
That was excellent Daniel , enjoyed the wisdom !
Love your videos mate. Bear is a bloody laugh
Love the Bear!
Great video. We love our goats. Glad you set the record straight. Tim
Great video.
You have inspired me to do a bit of gardening. On The patio in a raised box. Today I Sowed some mixed greens, radishes & mint.
Awesome.
Love your videos! Always love to see goats, lots of good information too!
Bear likes to be up in your face when you're doing things just like my Kraken!
I always love your videos. This one is probably my favorite though. God bless!
You get lots of love from your animals, you must really treat yours well and from what your videos show, you do.
Interesting. Enjoyed the video.
Very informative and helpful I'm sure to new homesteaders who are just starting out! Bear just wants to love you. Since he lives with the goats, he doesn't get enough of Daniel time.😊
Thank you, that was very helpful.🌄
I enjoyed your video.... like the way you talk.... I am from Europe
When i was a child I asked my mom do goats really eat tin cans? because you saw that a lot on television, you know cartoons and old shows like the little rascals and such. She told me naw, they like the paper and the glue.
When I had goats 6 on 2 acres all they ever wanted to eat is the plants that mom had planted at her house .. lol cause when they got out that's where I always found them...
Thanks for clearing all that up! LOL
Need a "what's in your pocket" tag. Great video, made me laugh. Thanks!
Goats are great to have when you have cows that is what I did. After the cows ate the pasture I would tun my goats out into that field after I moved the cows and the goats would eat all the weeds they loved it.
Great video! I hope this goes viral. Also escaping goats. Some people have escaping goat problems while others farms have huge herds and none go free ranging. Why? Are all your goats meat goats?
I think some goats are just more prone to wanting to roam. Yes we just have a meat goat herd.
I have an English Bulldog & she lays down around the chickens wen there out
Awesome video 🤗😍😎
I like this about goats, I’ve always wanted some.
Good info. I find their picky eaters. Eat what they want. Just subscribed.
4:45 Bear showing the goats who's in charge
The only mean goat that I saw was BEAR. When you put the little bit of food out for the goats and Bear always wants in there to. He run several of the goats off!
Great video Daniel. When is the next live stream?
Probably tomorrow evening.
Felisidades me gustan tus bideos como combibes con las chibas
I prefer to use a plastic feeding pot or sink other than metalic cos it can hurt them when they fall on it
How do you establish yourself as the leader of the herd ?
Great video, the goats eat anything myths come from cartoons I think. If you could make a more extensive video on what they can eat and can’t in terms of plants that would be great! I know they eat poison ivy, but what other evasive plants can they eat, kudzu? In ny we have Japanese knot weed
Well dang thanks. I have chickens coming, geese coming Ducks coming a pig coming and now I have to get a dog house cause now I want goats and I think my wife will tell me I will have to sleep with them hahaha great video. They are some neat animals
Wooo that multi colored one (at end that was in pocket) she is so pretty.
1:41 that guys is like SUP
I love the aren’t you hungry?
Awesome video. I love all the info on goats. Quick question. I was thinking of having goats and pigs on my property. Like doing a rotational grazing pasture. Have the goats go in and hit all the brush and then have the pigs go in and root up all the rest. Do you have any thoughts on having goats and pigs together in the same barn or shelter. Was wondering if it would cause problem on a social aspect and on health. Thanks again for sharing.
I've never had them together like that so I really can't say for sure.
Thanks for replying. In having goats out on the pasture are there any suggestions you have for the plants that might harm them? I know of rhodadendrums any others?
Love goats🐐
I noticed on the few homesteading channels I'm subscribed on that u guys don't have many fruit trees or maybe u just don't show them u definitely have the room for oranges pears peaches lemons cherries plums etc etc etc
Well the deer and goats are extremely rough on fruit trees.
Goats are like little kids into everything I watch my goat head butted my horse to get her to pull her head out the food bowl it’s kind of funny .
Yep! All myths!
And hey, where is Houston!😋
Really want your dog ha!
Daniel. I'm really enjoying your videos since I found your channel! Out here in Colorado and Wyoming, people will raise large herds of goats, then "rent" them out to do invasive weed eating. As you know, they like the weeds better than the nice green grass, and I don't think the seeds are viable once passing through their digestive system. Have a great day!
Maybe Myth number 6 could be, Goats always get their horns hung in the fence..... No wait that one's already busted.
Pretty sure the tin can thing wasn't meant to be literal, but don't you think the saying came about because a hungry goat can feed on a pretty wide range of foods? Like you pointed out, they'll eat everything from grass to trees, right?
All your vids are about goats it is ok because i loooooooooooooooove goats
Man I was really hoping on of your myths to bust was that goats are NOT escape artist. Mybe that's episode 2 of goat myth busters, lol
That 1870's Homestead I was warned of that when I wanted to get goats but I’ve been three years with them and never had an escapee unless some breeds are more prone to that behavior. I have alpines.
Brian Philbrook I have 2 Nubians coming in a couple weeks, just terribly nervous about them escaping while we are at work. We will be using premier one electric goat fencing, so hopefully all goes well.
That 1870's Homestead good luck. I made my own fencing using posts and fence wire. I have six strands which seem to work good. My fence is just around 5ft high.
I try to encourage my Nigerian Dwarfs to 'escape' = meaning "Go browse those shrubs on the hill" or "There is still lots of green grass down by the creek" - but they don't. They are really hang around the house goats. They will go for walks with me in the evenings - everyone including the goose and some ducks come at least part of the way. But escaping to go off, they just don't do. Now they will 'escape in" if I leave a gate or door open. They will try to get in the shed or on the porch or even in the house.
I have Nigerians and they have never escaped! In 4 years.....the gate didn't get shut good once and they did get out but when I got home they were all laying down chewing cud right by the pen! I prob couldn't get them to leave if I tried! I've also never had a goat get stuck in a fence either.
That's funny!
Lol Bear is eating goat food!
I am a goat lover but I like pygmy goats better than any other kind of goats that I have had in the past. Your goats was showing you some love today. Is your goats pure-blooded or are they crossed?
I have some full kilos and some boer kiko crosses.
Arms Family Homestead. Boer goats are for meat, and I ate some goat jerky and I have to say it tasted pretty good. I just rather raise goats as pets they are so comical.
I always heard growing up that goats would keep snakes ran off around your property. Have you noticed that to be the case Daniel?
I still see plenty of snakes around here.
What kind of treats are you giving them?
I sure miss my goats
Can you share the myth or truth about goats eating poison ivy? I would like to know from someone who knows like you Daniel?
Yes they do eat it.
Once a goat literally did eat a hole in my skirt while I was talking. No joke. 😂
What! Did you not here about the goat that the farmer brought into Mayberry when he had to come into town for some business? It got loose and ended up eating a stick of dynamite. The whole town went on alert from that, even the mayor had to put on his bomb squad gear. It turned out okay though. They found out that if the deputy played his harmonica that the goat would stay calm. The Sheriff and his deputy finally led it out of town by playing the harmonica and all was well.
Hey guys thanks for your videos. I have a Question. Do you guys have a Buck? If so how do you house Him away from the does? Does he have a friend?
Yes we do have a Kiko buck and he stays in our old cattle coral with his own shed. He has several of this years young bucks right there with him too.
Thanks for the reply.. The reason I ask is I have 2 Saanen Goats Buck and doe. My doe is carrying kids, Now i want to separate them, I know they need a friend, I was thinking about putting in 2 pens side by side, until she has her kids? Is this a good idea? I will get another buck in time have him chopped? Thanks again for the reply. Love to your family
Yes I bet they would do just fine if they are that close together.
Thanks again for helping... Not much good info online. Have a good day
Hahaha! Bear! He seems rotten!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The really do not stink? Or is it that you are accustomed to their odor? No experience here, but when we drive past a farm on the highway, the stench comes right through the closed windows. You had me laughing when you were sniffing them and acting all "goaty"
Daniel don't go measure but how long are your Kikos horns?
I would guess most of the older does have horns about 8-10 inches long, but the buck has some huge horns and he's only 2 years old.
Goats will eat a lot but they know what to not eat (they do try to eat cloths though)
have ya caught any wild pigs yet??
Not yet.
Do you feel like goats are escape artists? I’ve considered getting a milk goat for the Homestead as I just don’t have room for a cow, but everyone I’ve talked to says they’re really hard to keep on the property. I sort of prefer animals that want to be here not ones that are always looking for a way out, LOL. What are your thoughts?
My Nigerian Dwarfs never leave. Might be because I am on 10 acres surrounded by open land and creekbeds and not people - so they don't see other homes or people AND I only have 3 of them. When I am home the gate to their yard and shelter is open and they don't wander off anywhere and come running if they see me.
I don't feel like any of my goats are escape artists. Now my buck will rip a fence to pieces to get at a doe that is ready to mate. I did have some pygmy goats once that were pretty hard to keep in but that was only because they are so small that they can fit through just about any hole
I have had pygmy goats at different times, I only had two at a time and got them when they were 8 weeks old. I raised them petting them and making them 'pets'. They never tried to get out. I will warn you that they are a herd animal and you need TWO at least because a solitary one will definately try to get out to go home! Best of luck!
I have had goats before and if they get poop in the feeder they would not eat the feed.
i love bear what cross breed is he? shepard and lab?
Anatolian shepard and and other neighbor dog.
Wolf gets jealous.
Your just to funny
Do you have variety of breeds? or just one type? If this is a dumb question, i know nothing about goats ;)
Mostly Kiko but some are boer kiko crosses.
