    @imthemainspaz@imthemainspaz7 ай бұрын
    • Well. In this precise situation it makes zero difference. The car is on a slight downward slope, and all the driver does is to keep the wheels moving slow enough to not dig in but fast enough to shovel sand under the tyre ‘lifting’ it out of the sand surface. The ‘theory’ is that the bouncing acts similar to rocking the car to gain traction but honestly, in sand, it’s more about not digging in with the wheels and knowing (by feel) how much wheel slip you need to get out. The age old saying ‘as slow as possible but as fast as necessary’ is most true when driving off road on sand.

      @ArosaMike@ArosaMike7 ай бұрын
    • it makes the car lighter momentary when the body is traveling upward. So there is less tractive effort needed for the wheel to roll out of the ditch. However, depends on how deep the car sinks, it doesn't always work.

      @Align700nitro@Align700nitro7 ай бұрын
    • @@Align700nitro tractive effort is not an issue in sand unless your in some ancient Jeep with absolutely no power. Anything with more than 200hp will be able to spin the wheels in sand and ‘jumping’ it like this will contribute nothing. The only thing that gets this car out of the sand in the video is the fact it’s on downwards slope and it has a driver with reasonable experience driving on sand.
