He should be banned from the NHL that right there is exactly why the NHL didn’t review these dirty hits enough. The only suspension that looked like a long one was a 20 game suspension after he drilled Oscar Sundquist by doing an illegal check to the head. The NHL banned Raffi Torres since he kept doing illegal hits. They need to do the same to Wilson because if they don’t he’s gonna keep doing illegal hits that’ll make everyone upset.

Wilson angles his whole body upwards towards Carlo and then piledrives his head into the glass, in effect, whiplashing Carlo's head. Carlo grabbed both sides of his head because his brain must have been rattling around. It was an unnecessary, malicious, intentional, cowardly hit on an unaware player who was playing the puck. Wilson was not playing the puck. He went straight for Carlo's head. Then when Carlo dropped to the ice, cheap shot artist Vrana gave him a crosscheck to the back when Carlo was down and out. I always thought the Capitols were a classy team. I never thought they would end up being Vancouver.

@@georgebenevides Didn't stop him last year. He's in his early 40's dude. He's not 78 years old. The guy is the tallest player in NHL history and has the fastest slapshot in history. If he has so much drive to keep playing that he was willing to leave the Bruins behind, he would still be more than happy to drop gloves for a teammate. He has always proven that he has pride, respect, and honor for the team he plays for, and he will always defend that team no matter what. The day he feels like he physically can't be a 6'9" 250lb NHL defenseman that can't defend his teammates when he has to, that's the day he throws in the towel.

lmfao, you're blaming the dude that got HIT, not the person HITTING? if youve played hockey, and you go in for the hit, you know what kind of hit you wanna give. raising elbows is intentionally to hit the head. Carlo wasn't low enough that a simple shoulder check wouldve been a hit to the head. Wilson came in at high speed, raised elbows, and lifted off his skates. Thats intentional.

Jack knew it was not a roughing penalty! Sheesh! Why are people (deliberately?) misinterpreting what he was trying to say? What should have been called was a spearing penalty, which is a double-minor penalty, but the REFS called it ruffing, which is a 2 minute penalty. Jack was being incredulous that the call was roughing, when they should have called spearing. Another instance of biased refereeing. They can make or break games and they do it all the time. 😠

Wilson had an egregiously late hit on Jankowski a week ago (that Jankowski still hasn't returned from) and Wilson got away without any discipline (source: kzhead.info/sun/pKWFYNB5hn1qeWg/bejne.html) So why wouldn't he keep doing these things? And it's a joke that, because Jankowski is miraculously "okay" despite the dangerous and quite illegal hit by a person with a long history of dangerous and quite illegal hits, it's now somehow not suspension worthy. There’s a reason why he wasn’t suspended nor fined that game against the pens, even with his history. The league is no fan of his. Offered an in-person hearing, that means a minimum 5 games suspension but given Wilson's rich history of head shots maybe the NHL will grow a set and suspend him minimum 10 games, which would still be too light for a player with his history. Problem is he can play Hockey and the NHL loves the Caps so he'll get maybe 3 games.

Because the league needs to cover their ass and appear tough on hits to the head because of all the lawsuits. Possibly the refs saw what no one is really talking about. His head went down almost the exact moment wilson came in for the hit. It is Tom Wilson though, and he puts himself in positions to hurt people, even if in this instance I don't think he calculated catching his head that cleanly.

When I see the hit in slow mo it looks like Wilson deliberately tucks his elbow in and leads with the shoulder, primary content was not the head. I barely see a penalty, let alone 7 games. He hit the top of the B and moved up. Carlo dipped his head way down, otherwise, it was going to be should and top of the chest. Also, Boston is well known for having the least impartial commentators in hockey, don't listen to those clowns.

Initial line was for clean hit. Carlo slightly alters body angle, raises glove and end of stuck in front of Wilson’s face which cause to him turn head to protect his face, initial contact in the shoulder, subsequent follow through causes some head contact with the glass. Offered an in-person hearing, that means a minimum 5 games suspension but given Wilson's rich history of head shots maybe the NHL will grow a set and suspend him minimum 10 games, which would still be too light for a player with his history. Wilson makes a living out of doing this on a game-to-game basis. At least he got 7 games for that hit.
When I see the hit in slow mo it looks like Wilson deliberately tucks his elbow in and leads with the shoulder, primary content was not the head. I barely see a penalty, let alone 7 games. He hit the top of the B and moved up. Carlo dipped his head way down, otherwise, it was going to be should and top of the chest. Also, Boston is well known for having the least impartial commentators in hockey, don't listen to those clowns.
Look at it again. Wilson came in, stick and gloves high, and slammed Carlo's head into the glass. Totally avoidable. If Wilson meant to shoulder check and dig for the puck, his stick blade would have been down near the ice, not over head.

Initial line was for clean hit. Carlo slightly alters body angle, raises glove and end of stuck in front of Wilson’s face which cause to him turn head to protect his face, initial contact in the shoulder, subsequent follow through causes some head contact with the glass. Hockey is a fast game. Shame Carlo got hurt but that’s not suspendible.
High hit by Wilson. Cross check to a downed man by Vrana. No penalty. Wow. And you wonder why everyone in the league wants to fight Wilson.
I hate these god awful commentators but that's a clear hit to the head. Classic Wilson.
