Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Some games do rely on mods but in a good way For example: Kerbal Space Program relies heavily on mods because the mods literally change the entire game, Factorio also relies on mods cus they also overhaul the whole game. The guided missile mod imo needs to be a vanilla feature, I know guided missiles are possible in the game with tons of logic but they are hard to do and kinda suck, and manually guided missiles are possible with the RC glitch but also kinda suck
I think my ideal game would have SM's logic and building system with Trailmakers destruction and flight physics. Gearblocks and Logic World get close on their respective parts of that but nothing has quite gotten that "perfect building game" down for me yet.
@@DigitalJedi Yeah each building game excels in certain categories but fails in others Trailmakers: Excels in the variety of vehicles you can build and destruction mechanics, fails in map design and logic systems and its grid based building system is somewhat restrictive. Scrap Mechanic: Excels in logic and mechanical systems with welding groups, fails with vehicles variety cus you can only really make cars and boats are possible but kinda pointless, and aerodynamics are non-existent Main Assembly: Excels in graphics and build grid flexibility, fails in the actual quality of how the physics are simulated Kerbal Space Program 2: Excels in graphics and map size, but you can only really make spacecraft and planes, rovers are possible but kinda useless. Flyout: Excels in simulation quality and build freedom, but lacks a campaign mode and multiplayer and only aircraft are possible. From the Depths: Incredible well made and extensive weapon system, ranging from customizable machine guns to railguns and plasma cutters and missiles with customizable payloads. However it has terrible graphics and its maps suck. Somebody needs to make the perfect building game. Something with good graphics, good simulation quality, multiplayer, good maps, allows you to build any vehicle with a non restrictive building system, a campaign mode, destruction physics, and good combat systems.

I have a friend in the military, this is scarily accurate. They try to cut the budget wherever possible meaning they regularly use old/outdated equipment.

Idea from 14:27 Remote control: Disconnect the seat from the vehicle but then drive both vehicles and attack each other. Would be interesting to see how the crew overcomes this setback and potentially uses it to their advantage

I made a rc car hockey build a while ago, when the danger zone map was introduced. It consists of 4 rc karts and 4 control units for each of them, for 2 v 2 games. :) (It's on the workshop, should anyone care) Cheers!
@@TinaGloria2012 That used to be possible, although it wasn't an intended feature, so it might have been removed (but it doesn't seem so, since it worked for Scrapman).
It’s still possible to do, they could use the camera block at the same time to give them a first person point of view.
This just brought up an idea, you guys should do a Frankenstein vehicle. It’s two teams of two people. Each person makes half a car and does NOT communicate with their teammate. After that each team connects their car with their teammates, and does a battle race!
exactly, recommended that myself a few videos ago. would be a fun thing to see, and to make things more chaotic, maybe even have each person independently control their side so if they want to go right they both need to turn that way.

Since you realized that you can lose your seat and still drive, what about a tank battle, where you design the tank to break its seat off, and you fight in third person? LOL
If you can figure out that remote control glitch it could be fun if on person controls a vehicle while unable to see it and another is on it and has to direct the other peron to drive in the right direction, it could be a battle or an obstacle course. both I think would be a fun bit of chaos

If you remove the key binding from dynamite, I figured it nearly never explodes as EMPs trigger random inputs. Thus if there is no input key on the dynamite, it won't explode.

last round emp didnt trigger tnt becouse it wasnt binded to any button, im pretty sure. I think Scrapman actually tested that if im not mistaken.
I feel like the other guys had their dynamite set up wrong. If you dont put controls in it wont explode. So the last round wast really fair for scapman

Hey Scrapman. I got a cool game/video idea. It’s a race, however it’s a race with chaos by creativity. By that i mean your vehicles can have onboard traps to deploy, a fold out shield perhaps? Imagination is the only limit :>. Of course a gun is allowed by default so the ones behind have a chance also. The rules i have in mind: Blocks: unlimited Complexity: 300? (Not sure really.) Vehicle must have 3 features of anything you want. (2 if that’s too much.) Must have 1 gun. (2 if you want one to be a feature or something, :P) Multi terrain race. (I’m thinking around the treasure island for water, mud and so on.) Playing trailmakers, it’s always been a dream to have a race with all sorts of possible creations and ideas in play, i sadly just don’t have the friends to use this idea with. I’m sure if you refine the rules and such, it’ll be a really fun time! Especially a great video. :3

Idea: know how your seat got disconnected but the creation was still drivable? Maybe do like an RC airplane battle with a camera block or something on the nose (or not just fly it from your seat) and try to destroy each other's plane or their seat or something.

Fore warning, I have never played trailmakers... ever. One thing that I thought about is that the emp messes with the controls of the creation from what I am understanding. maybe the tnt wasn't going off from the emp because it needed a key bind to be set off. idk, I could be completely wrong, but could be something to look into. One point of reference is at 20:55 the tnt went off because they collided with each other.
Idea: create some sort of land vehicle and battle but in 0.50 Gravity and every round the gravity keeps getting lower and lower until it’s 0.10 Gravity. Just a cool idea :D
So it'd be super technical, but something I think would be fun would be to try to recreate a system that replicated the Mario Kart: Double Dash multiplayer system. So very similar to what you have done, but at the press of 1 button and a matching button press on your team mate, you go from being gunner for your team to driver of the vehicle or vice versa. It'd be super technical in how to make that function, but it'd be really cool to see and really fun to do as you can switch off if someone's just bad at driving, you can take over or vicely if they're failing to shoot the ground 11 out of 10 times, you can swap to be the gunner.

An idea for a 2v2 would be both makes a small vehicle of a predetermined kind, but then you connect them with invisible power couplers similar to the Drone Swarm battle a while back but with 2 peoples creations.
This sparked an idea: remote control teams battle. One guy controls the vehicle, the other controls the gun in said vehicle.🤪

Made an airborne submarine the other day. Initially made it with some wing pieces and tail pieces as a regular submarine, but then realized that I could slap on a large propellor and a couple of space thrusters, and it could stay up in the air. Maybe an idea to have an airborne submarine battle?

I wonder if a race between vehicles with caster wheels would be possible. Four wheels. Two caster wheels and two stationary or turning wheels. The players should be able to choose which wheels are caster wheels to make the builds more interesting.

MONO WHEEL Train ( the front compartment of the train like the main engine that will have a seat can have two wheels. And every single train car can only have one wheel following. Every train car will have one gun on it sort of like the train battles you guys were doing a while ago. And for an added challenge you should connect each train car together with the power couplers

if you disconnect a seat it can still control its original creation! make a bunker with a bomber attatched, seat inside the bunker, detatch airplane, and see who can destoy each other bunker first without getting your "HQ" bunker destroyed. maybe a 2v2, one bomber and one figther to defend the bunkers. both seats inside the same bunker!.
You went from way too many wheels to 4 wheels. Now there's 3 so naturally the next step would be even lower...so I challenge you to a unicycle battle.
I think another ruler for motorcycles is that you cannot reverse, but motorcycles don't have a a reverse gear. You use your legs for that. Or reverse should be at like 10% speed.

day..... 3? of requesting a "school sport team picking" competition. take turns picking parts out of everything available, and once you've gone through them all, you build a creation with your "team", only allowed to use the parts you picked. could be a fighty style competition, but could also be a race style, or a "triathalon" where creation must be able to drive as well as fly, etc. if a combat competition, the "team members" could even be the guns. one person picks minigun, the other picks rocket, etc. i am imagining having one of every part laid out, then each person takes turns picking one and that is removed from the lineup (and put in new lineup by them) to make it easier to keep track of.
How about a 2v2 challenge where the gunner controls the turret and the driver controls the firing and the driver controls the steering while the gunner controls the throttle or vice versa

I'm not going to shut up about this until you do it. 2v2 battle. One vehicle towing the other with the power coupling (at least 3 lenghts and low strenght so it acts more like a rope). The one being towed can not have any propulsion, and the one towing can not have any weapons. Win by destroying the opposing team or cutting the connection between them. You can use cars, planes or boats. If it's a success maybe you can try all three.
Make a plane train like PeterShripol just made irl.

Could you do a Roomba battle? Where you build an automatic robot and have them fight in the battle bot arena.
