  • I was considering the Nuphy Air as my first mechanical keyboard but after much research and thinking, I went with their Halo65 instead and really happy I did. Very high quality and plenty of connectivity for it’s price. I’ve also did few simple mods to make it much more silent, with the biggest difference coming from changing the switches to Gamakay’s Phoenix (linear, silent). Would highly recommend their keyboard. The second keyboard I got, mostly for gaming is Wooting 60HE, also full modded with moderate budget

  • I agree about the Logitech MX Mechanical, it is a very good starting point for mechanical keyboards, not at least because you do not get the fancy lightning effects and that you easily can switch between three different computers.

  • Thanks for the great video. I’m a Mac and PC user and switched a couple of times between the Mx keys and the Magic Keyboard. Loved the functionality of the Logitech especially with the backlight and the opportunity to connect different devices. But to be honest I’m always coming back to the Apple keyboard because I’m so used to the typing experience and love to have the same typing when mobile or desktop. 😊

  • It's hard to explain, and I'm glad there are other junkies out there, I am a crazy keyboard/mouse junkie! This past fall I bought a gaming PC & wanted to try a mechanical keyboard. I started off with the Keychron K8 TKL, but after using it a few days, I realized I missed the 10-key pad. So I picked up the Keychron C2 104 full size keyboard. The Keychron products are build like tanks and have tons of features. The issue? I couldn't use that keyboard for 89- hours a day at work. I've always loved a "clacky" keyboard but the keys on the Keychron are just too sharp on the edges. My main keyboard for work is the Wave K350. I've had this thing since 2012! Insane. It's lasted long then a dishwasher we bought. I've kept it super clean & made sure to vacuum it out regularly. Anyone else find some of the mechanical keyboards a bit too harsh for long work sessions?

    • I have a Keychron K3 with brown switches, which is a very similar keyboard in my opinion. I love Logitech products and use an MX Master, so would love to change to the MX Mechanical eventually; the battery on the K3 is abysmal as well. There's only one thing bothering me - the MX does not seem to have media keys? I use the Play/Pause, Next & Previous keys extensively and can't really live without them. On my keyboard they are located left of the volume keys. Is there any way to change the functionality of the keys in the Logi software?

  • I know form factor and availability and aesthetics play a huge role in choosing a custom keyboard, but at the sonnet's price range in 2023 I feel like there's just other options I would go for. At that configuration you can afford a singa board (if you win the raffle) and in terms of an available package I think I prefer the envoy for its price and sound.

  • As a keyboard nerd, I tried a lot of keyboards. For a buget around 150, there are other better alternative. As a low profile, keychron k3 pro is an excellent pick. For those are more interested by comfort and reducing RSI you can pick the amazing keychron v10 (105$) or xbow nature (150$). With more budget like 400 $, you have great keyboards like dygma raise, moonlander and glove80. Personal advice for a good keyboard not too expensive a keychron v10 with kailh silent pink switches.

  • I just got an M2 Pro Mac Mini coming from a fully spec’d (other than Retina display at the time because that was $400 lol) late-2015 iMac. The iMac was long in the tooth and just booting up and unlocking the thing was a slow and tedious process that made using it undesirable. I went with the Magic Keyboard in Black with the numpad with my new mini because I am a teacher that wants to input grades in the numpad, TouchID on the keyboard is non-negotiable for me, I love typing on the Magic Keyboard, and I LOVE the aesthetic of the black version. Overall though, sitting down and having my desktop awake and unlocked within 2 second because of TouchID, and doing EVERYTHING I want without any delay is unbeatable.

  • This was a really nice quality video: clear, well-produced, and balanced. I'm in the market right now for keyboards since I despise the one that is on my current computer: the macbook. I use the separate apple magic keyboard (since I got it from work) but there is no room for key travel, as you point out. I grew up using laptops in the late 90s and early 2000s and really miss the feel of the mechanical keyboard. My first computer was an IBM laptop that I got in 1995 as a gift. All things considered, I am inclining towards either the Nuphy75 or Lofree (which you should consider reviewing if you haven't already). I wasn't aware of the mode sonnet, but I'm afraid the key distance may be too much for a transition from a macbook.

  • I'm using the Ducky One 2 SF for my office, but I'm on the hunt for something new with a number pad. I want something that has the same feel as this ducky. I am leaning towards Keychron K4 Pro wireless. I really like the way red switches feel and sound when typing. I have tried a few different keyboards and I have noticed that when I use a regular office full-size keyboard I lose so many WPM. When I switch back to my 65% ducky I gain it all back. After watching your video and a few others I feel I need to keep looking for a low-profile mechanical keyboard with a number pad. I feel I can get even more speed from a low-profile keyboard and still get the number pad and mechanical feel.

  • Nice spread. I’m using the two non-mechanical you featured currently The Magic Keyboard is nice for work as it has the Touch ID as I’m constantly using it to log into different application and I don’t have to reach to to my non dominant side to my laptop on a mount In my personal setup i have the MX keys full size that has both Mac and windows keys. I designed that space so anyone could plug any laptop in with one cable and instantly have access to the power and monitor and then have access to the MX keys and mx master 3 instantly with the unifying receiver in the back of the monitor hub. I would have preferred the mini rather than the full keys but it wasn’t available at the time and I don’t miss the Touch ID like in the work setup as the watch unlocks the laptop for me instantly I have been thinking about trying a mechanical, the mx mechanical would slot in nicely connecting it through the hub so I wouldn’t lose anything by swapping it in and connecting through the hub too

The main reason for it was its relative ease of typing, ability to raise the user's end and thus allow the arms to rest better. Personal choice I guess. The downsides are large USB dongle (RF only) and its wrist pad area that is not so easy to clean, and after a while the upper layer becomes tacky. Can be cleaned, but is not the same afterwards. • Mx Keys Max - Black. Best gadget I ever bought. Waiting for my Mx Master 3s. If you could do a video on the best webcams as well, that would be really useful. Also, new to the channel. Love the vibe.

  • I’m a huge fan of low profile mechanical, I’ve sold all my other ones. Right now I’m using both the Earto Crescent and Skyloong NT68 and they have far better performance and reliability than many other more expensive counterparts!

  • I have the full-size MX Mechanical keyboard, and I love it. I specifically got it since it is able to be used on multiple devices across platforms. I use it on my Windows desktop pc, my iPad Air, and occasionally on my MacBook Air! I also have the Logitech K380 keyboard, and I got it to go with my iPad Air, but I also love using it with the Macbook or even my iPad mini. The K380 is great because it's small and easily portable. I do also have the apple magic keyboard for my iPad Air, and it's great, but I like the K380 better for the iPad. My MX mechanical, on the other hand, stays at home, and it's great for typing papers or projects for graduate school or work. I loved the assortment of keyboards you showed, but no way I would ever pay $600 for a keyboard even if I could afford to do so...I just love the projects Logitech offers and see no reason to spend more...but that's why there are so many options out there so that everyone can find the option that they like best!

    • Thank you for your comment! I completely agree that spending $600 on a keyboard might not be a feasible option for everyone. There are plenty of budget-friendly keyboards available that offer great performance. On a related note, have you heard about the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a versatile tool that can help keep your desktop clean. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. Let me know if you'd like more information!

  • The aesthetic you go for is the best mate, I take a lot of inspiration from it when pairing items together in my setup. Do you have a preference between ISO and ANSI layouts?

    @Thomas_Bennett@Thomas_Bennett11 ай бұрын
    • Hey there! Thanks for your comment. When it comes to keyboard layouts, it really depends on personal preference. Some people prefer ISO layouts for the extra keys, while others like the simplicity of ANSI layouts. Ultimately, it's all about what feels comfortable for you and suits your needs. By the way, have you heard of the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a nifty device that offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for keeping your desktop setup clean. Check it out!

    • Is the magic keyboard same layout as 13' m2 macbook air? Which macbook do you have?

      @fasirehm@fasirehm11 ай бұрын
    • @@fasirehm I have the M1 Macbook Pro and it has the same layout as the M2 Air. The only difference between their layouts and the Magic Keyboard is that the magic keyboard has full size Left and Right arrow keys, unlike the Macbooks' half sized ones. The base Magic Keyboard doesn't come with the fingerprint reader but you can get a version with one.

My brother is also coding and is highly recommending the Keychron Q2 with Gateron Pro Brown switches this is a 65% keyboard layout. Would you recommend this keyboard or would I be better off with either the Nuphy Halo65 or Halo75 I thoroughly enjoyed your video and look forward to your opinion. Cheers

  • That Nuphy seems good, but one of the problems with this kind of keyboard is the angle....it seems not to have the option to adjust the angle for typing. I am interested in testing the MX Keys from Logitech. As a mechanical keyboard, I have the Magic Wand from Redragon and the problem I am facing right now is the keys, they are too high
