Let me know in the comments which cars you want to see us buy and what Copart or IAA auction I should visit next!
Have a salvage auction Corvette rebuild or salvage story of your own? Be sure to tell us!

As an HCC auto insurance adjuster, I love seeing this side of the industry. I’m so use to totaling out these cars everyday. It’s so interesting to see this side of the field. It’s honestly my dream to eventually into the parts side I use to do it few years back with mustangs for fun but never took it to the next level always wished I did.
Insurance scam with that CTSV. Hopefully someone goes to jail.
All too common
How can you tell
They probably just had a built motor and pulled it out and put in a cheap motor before insurance takes it. Pretty common for people to remove mods when they total a car that's modified
@@leviortega1587 do they decline the claim if it is modified
his gonna say that was the engine at time of accident.. and they want push it further even tho we know he pulled it out because that engine never worked in that car at all lol.
I stumbled across your channel 2 days ago and I've been watching nonstop. I have to say this, though. Watching you guys live the life I wish I had built for myself (career wise) is bitter sweet. I didn't realize until too late that running / operating a salvage operation like you do is what I wanted to do. I'm almost 50 y.o. and while I'm blessed in other ways, life had other plans for me. I wish I had thought ahead enough when I was younger and had options, you know? You guys are blessed, even if you don't realize it yet. Keep up the good work. If I had any constructive criticism to offer it'd be... I'd like to see some 4x4 trucks. I know you're heading into exotics but the diesel 4x4 market is crazy. Maybe not from a parts perspective, I don't know but maybe throw in a 4x4 build someday? Someone should teach Carrington that carburetors aren't scary too. Appreciate you guys, sincerely. -Jeff Ps: when looking at a V8, If the center two exhaust ports are close together and the first & fourth are spaced (like this: . .. . ) good chance it's a GM small block.
The grass is always greener trust me! I do have an idea for a future rebuild, and it’s not a car, but it’s also not a 4x4… maybe towards the end of the year! Carbs are always gonna be a no from me 😉
Most men (like myself) are somewhat hyper - I love the way you move quickly from car to car so we dont get bored!!!! EAST AND ENJOYABLE TO WATCH.
26:28 😅 Its just a bird, buddy 🤭
love that 59 olds ,wow that would be a great cruiser
I’m a believer now! Been a V8 guy most of my life. Drove an EV the other day and instantly fell in love with the instant torque and power. They pull like a freight train. I know it’s not all sunshine and rainbows , but holy crap man those things are super fast and fun to drive.
The stripped Viper body could be the start of a drag car.
Was just thinking the same thing.
When you got to the last row of cars I was bummed out. I like to watch all your videos but as much as I like watching you build cars and cook bacon on top of them I could literally watch you walk around the auction like this all day long. Good video good job try to go to the auction all you can it is very entertaining thanks.
These walk arounds are good … keep them coming.
Just found your channel, love the corvette content! You all make it look so easy! I grew up in an auto body shop, used to crawl around the scrap cars in the lot - this is right up my alley. You could just do corvette rebuilds and i would be glued 🙌
Thanks for watching!
Love how you captured the thrill of finding those C7 Corvettes!
I love a G Wagon so, thank you for still looking at them ❤
Great vid. The Hoosier slick was random but the Easter egg was the damn macco paint job rear wing which was actually worse than macco lol
The Mustang with the spray paint all over it might be a good buy if it goes cheap. You can get that paint off, as long as no one scratched or keyed the car it would be a easy flip.
ty for showing this. I was looking at that cayenne online haha. I got scared of that front being off. I want to tackle my first high end rebuild but def prob a bit too dangerous for first.
Definitely a good idea to get an easy one under your belt first!
Great vid, keep up the great work
Huge GTO fan been looking to get one and have found a few and 1 that was twin turboed making 700 whp. Definitely a car that will hold up over time and will one day be as sought after like the 60s and 70s
A clean C7 ooooh weeee 😍
Lmfao the bird
Nearly lost my life..
Cool lot! Take that viper and hang it off the side of your roof like The Races Edge, only makes sense considering the amount of S2000s you have inside. If only you guys had some SR20 motors to put in em, but race wars is around the corner so they are pulling a premium.
Loving these longer videos !
I like watching longer videos too, so that’s what I make!
Thanks love your content. EV power video yes...
That red 964 Porsche 911 would fetch 6 figures if fixed up properly.
👀
Most definately
What about making a Macan off road build for the channel
I had a 300C with the Rolls front grill. They are pretty rare. It was a fun cheap car.
I worked with Copart for a while back in the day. I always noticed Mercedes and BMW's that looked perfect being totaled by the insurance companies. It has to do with the depreciation is what I was told. I actually picked up an old C280 for $800. It ran just fine. It did need a new radiator and some hoses, that was it. Had it for 3 years and then sold it for $2500.
That makes a lot of sense
love it....more of these
The comedy in this episode is great
Just took delivery of my new M3P and I love it. I am as far from a tree hugger as you can get. However performance vs the dollar the EV is there specially the Tesla.
Plaids are so quick. It’s wild I would like one sometime just for that acceleration
These are hilarious 😂
05/06 GTO, they're the same shell as the British Vauxhall Manaro VXR and the Australian Holden Manoro
That viper would be a sick drift build
this fast talker showed quite a few hot cars to consider
My master plan is to retire from the salvage business at 35 and be an auctioneer at a farm equipment auction in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. Think I have a shot?
Love that hellcat :)
Just a thought. It would add to your camera kit, and editing, but how about a probe camera for under bonnet shots. Through gaps. Under car shots even 🙃
The red 911 is a 964. 3.6 twin spark engine on 16” Cup wheels. Yes, they did make an auto (called a Tiptronic). BTW the 964 is the model used to create the Singer. The Black Targa is a G Body car, so poss a 3.2 or 3.0 motor. Later ones had the G50 five speed box. Both are money pits, but the 964 would be worth saving.
Thanks for the good info! I think I’ll find myself in one sooner than later…
@@scraplifegarage I appreciate you love of big cars with huge cubic capacity engines, but my 964, with just Power Steering and ABS, putting out about 290 bhp through a 5 speed manual whilst weighting in at about 1450kg is such a blast to drive and it’s actually reliable when looked after. Plus who doesn’t love a Porsche 911. I am very interested in seeing how your Turbo turns out. A brilliant car, but unfortunately not an Aircooled Porsche. Best wishes from England 👍
Great lot walk.
Thanks man!
Only the 2006 Pontiac GTO came in a spice red metallic. There’s parts that I require from you guys for my GTO but you guys don’t keep those items. I’m looking for a low mileage differential with upgraded half shafts I’m also looking for the underbody shield that goes underneath the trunk that is not broken or missing the flap. I’m looking for the windshield wiper arm covers as well. They are specific to the right and left windshield wiper. I’m also looking for the passenger side trim panel that goes on the seat. It’s the one that has the seat Controls attached to it. I don’t really need the controls just the cover since mine broke. Even though it breaks my heart each time I see a GTO being crushed. Although that makes me realize my GTO will be worth more money in the future. I’m also looking for the C7 ZO6 axle back or the C7 ZR1 full exhaust.
My opinion on EVs is that things will evolve like they always have. People will still find their own creativity and the fun in future cars. I'll still miss the old way though.
need to buy that 964. always a bigger fool for a squashed beetle 😍
I may have been the biggest fool on my 997
VR Driving game setup for the Viper
that 32 ford hurt to see especially seeing that it looked like a real body and not a reproduction fiberglass body
Oh man the SL is a car that is worth a lot of money. Very sought after. The only thing is Mercedes owners expect perfection but I think you should get it!
27:23... LOL, you said "red interior". Was white interior UNTIL after the fatal crash.
The Olds is beautiful
Damn, he really called the 4.6 a v6.........y'all 4.6 guys really going to get that slide? 💀
the stickers on the last white daytona, were aftermarket. the stock ones are remove-able aswell and thats probably what he did, it looks like a genuine daytona to me just with the back decal removed.
36:13 immediately knew it said "fuck you" lmao
Torqueless wonder lol
Just a fact of life
@@scraplifegarage Well, responding to your question.... That's one thing you can't say about EVs!
@@markfr8543 very true!
If no one has said yet the 501 daytona hellcat comes with a white vinyl set while regular daytonas come black and it has a number plate on the passenger side where it would say charger, challenger, hellcat, etc
Love the channel
Appreciate you!
I have the corvette blue whit the gold rims
Do the Hell Cats come in manual too ?
You buy the gto i would be a buyer of the complete 6sd swap for my 05
I like your video 👍
Love old 911s! How the turbo s2000 going?
We were just messing with it tonight, I think that video will be coming pretty soon
In the minute 1:48 its a Corolla´s bumper
Bring a Nocoboost. AAR uses one all day long.
I didn't think I'd like these videos but great work Lee! I'll watch the EV video but I won't be buying an EV for a while. Need to grow the charging infrastructure before I'd consider. Keep up the great work ScrapLifeGarage!
I figured the cowboy hat would get you interested!
@@scraplifegarage - haha! Even without the cowboy hat I'd watch the video. Gotta support you and the other guys. Plus it's good background noise while at work ;)
Hey bro great video 🔥🔥🔥
Sorry about the ride! Hope you got into something just as cool!
@@scraplifegarage life happens sometimes bro its all good as long as everybody was ok thats all that matters & i definitely did, not sure if you had time to check out my IG but i had to bounce back with something just as crazy 🔥🔥🔥
Porsche Targa worth more. The red interior is stunning
those bentleys are very fast cars, they weigh a lot but still fly.
Do you ever come a cross Ford Shelby super snake pick up truck
169.... Giggidy
Nice
Please post what's wrong with the Olds and what it sold for????
Pssst! Those red seats in the black 911 are big bucks. Sport Seats
I thought they were 996 seats swapped in or something. They are BEAUTIFUL.
How can I get in touch with u about purchasing one of your cars?
quick AMG tip. real AMG cars only have 2 numbers.... ie sl65 sl55 sl73 I have not seen any AMG cars with 3 digits. that being said with todays values I would always decode the vin for older mercs because many people change the emblems.
thats coolant
You walked right past a C5/6 Camaro. I'd like to see you check into those when you can.
Absolutely! I tend not to check as many of them out as we see SO many at the shop. They start to lose their appeal, but when we find one special I will certainly take a look
Hi, where can i contact you about the sponsorship?
E38/39 wheels on the M3. Style 37.
I think they work well on the car
@@scraplifegarage Mist of been machined to fit, centre bores are different on E38/9 [Nerd mode off/] 👍🏻😁
@@tomtht3355 you’re more than welcome to nerd out in the comments, there’s no limit to the obscure automotive knowledge I’d like to learn!
its a 2018ish Toyoda corolla bumper
Koenigsegg is all I'm saying! love the content ✌️
I don’t know that I’ll ever see one of those there!
@@scraplifegarage 4.6L Ford V8 and Rotrax supercharger for around 850HP…give or take!
The BMW m3 has 7 series wheels on it
If the 95 Mercedes’ was an SL 600 amg v12 that would be special
You guys are lucky because in alberta Canada at iaa you can’t view cars and that’s not fair for us
Coupe’s (especially without sunroof) are always more expensive than cabriolet or targas in the Porsche world.
That makes sense, it seems that way in most of the performance car world
I love how he calls a Bentley a Royce
What was that yellow car?
the C 7 Corvette was a bio-hazard toward the end around 27.00
Porsche coupe most value of all else models....always
I would've trucked that viper and made it a rat rod
why no batty pack??
If I wasn’t living with chronic Lyme disease I could do that. For several years as a side hustle I was parting out riding mowers. I was getting them sometimes free and other times paying up to $100 each. I honestly didn’t make much money doing that when I considered the rented storage space I did it in. The only people making reasonable money doing it focus on parting out John Deere’s and or commercial mowers. Looking back I think that our throw away society is being wasteful with how cheap so many products are made. With cheaply built products the turnover of each type of product is faster. Then look at all of the shipping costs, recycling and trash and landfill costs.
that v6 mustang said Fuck You 36:16
So I checked out they guy "Iggy"s ig page and he seems to have already replaced his wrecked c7 with another custom wrapped one on black wheels, doesn't look like he went with MTWs this time, maybe Forgiatos
Liliggy lives around where I live and I remember the day he crashed it
Gang Gang 😈😈😈
- Yeeeeeeeeha. You look good in the cowboy type hat; not me. - Only in TX would you see a huge condo/apartment complex overlooking the LARGEST salvage yard I have ever seen in my life. - Personal values for life in TX. #1: living across the street in a sea of sand with wrecked cars and trucks. Go texas (NO capital T for the obvious reason...If you don't know why the "t" you probably live there). I haven't had lunch, perhaps ME Bad. Last video I saw I left a note what you can call a Porsche (pronounce the e. or Porsch with no e sound). At 7:47 seconds you said Chevy and that is why you can call a Porsche a Porsch. A friendly connection to the Brand Porsche. Like I said calling my friend Robert Bob...we are close friends. I'll move on now. -Rollsly - very creative!!!!!!!!!!!! . BUT I would not call the interior TAN, it is BUTTER - Tesla. You said "they are disgustingly fast" Proof. I race hillclimbs in the Pacific NW with my '86 P-car and the King of the Hill (fastest car of the day driven by a man) all the time is a Tesla. We jokingly call it a giant cell phone on its side. The driver is a quiet, almost meek guy, but the front of the car can hardly hold his big balls. I saw him lose the car on a tight turn going beyond too fast and he corrected without backing off on the gas and kept going. What an outrageous "cowboy". Having said that I am with Mario Andretti when he (I think) said something like " when there are no more gas engines I want to be dead." Like have sex with a hot woman who can't make any sounds. Red Porsche To your question about RUST: It is a big problem with the older ones as they had different corrosion techniques for the body, also some years had special areas of leaking. To your question: hard top vs Targa. Hard tops = more $$$. Targa tops always leak until you find a pro that knows how to stop that kind of action. '89 has the G-50 transmission, which is much better than the years before To your point about the black Porsche: My thinking is it would be a fine car to restore if you knew how to replace parts. You ask whether or not houndstooth upholstery. Hell no, STUPID looking. A fad frenzy over this kind of stupid, stupid looking combo of colors and patterns...STUPID!! - G-body series 1973-1989 best fender look, no fried eggs - 993- 1990-1994 3.6L, 5 speed (crappy automatic) still has the great designed front fender/headlight maintaining the good design of the past with 80% upgrades including 3.6L engine. - 996 this generation dropped the great fender/headlight for the fried eggs look -ICK!! - Macan sucks like the Panamara That's enough geeking. Sorry to all of the non-loving P-car people. Swapping engines. I am surprised you didn't say an LS engine. YES to upgrade. The 997 GT3 with the 6 speed is my dream car. If I had extra money I would sell the love of my life RestoMod-Outlaw for it. Power, shifting, looks. YES!!! - Yes more videos. - I can probably see 3 more and then I think that is all I need and will move on but you have so much other stuff I will be around "Kicking your tires" for a while. - Sorry for the long and WIDE comments but it can't be helped...I have too much wiring in my head; perhaps "A garage without a Porsche is just a dark hole" - Walter Rohrl - Porsche Development"
A lot of IAAI videos of the running engines are fake. Just look at a few Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche 911 run videos and you'll notice the wrong sound. Also I've personally blasted them on IG for listing a Bentley that wasn't wrecked as an offsite sale that was actually wrecked and at a Copart lot.
I haven’t noticed that
they have there place to me
If I won the lotto I would lease a Plaid and as soon as it broke I would terminate the lease so I guess I would have it for maybe a week...
I’m a believer man!
More auction walk around videos! The other guy who does this is so cringe it’s hard to watch. Please make more videos like this.
Please do a video featuring pickup trucks
Where do I start on the Porsche's…. To answer your question about what body style is more desirable, it’s coupes in the lead (without sunroof is most desirable) followed by targa, followed by cabriolet (French for convertible 911). You have two different “models” in the video. The red car is a 964, it’s what “back-daters” start with when they build their cars, and they go for ridiculous money for a number of reasons (including the fact Singer and others use them as a base). You should really look into a project with that car as it will put you on the map with a whole new word of Porsche guys. DO NOT put a water cooled engine in that car ☠️ Put a Turbo on it or build a full race 3.8L. There’s no sound like a large displacement air cooled Porsche The black car is a “G-body” Carrera. The 1988 (and 89) examples had a G50 transmission which makes them more desirable than earlier 911s (all else held constant). That Targa has a very desirable can-can red interior with “sport seats” - they’re worth a lot of money. I found your KZhead channel about a month ago (it was the silver GT3 video that got me) and I can’t stop watching. Your content, and your business in general are amazing… I have a lot of ideas… I’ll figure out how to shoot you a message outside this platform.
Feel free to shoot me an email at lee@leecparts.com Thank you for all the great info
