I made the epic final battle scene from Avatar in Minecraft Hardcore!

Avatar is one of my favorite movies. I figured to celebrate the new sequel coming December 16th I would make the most EPIC recreation of the Avatar anyone has ever done in Minecraft!

  • Thank you for watching! If you have any questions, please fully read the description and this comment! Here are Shovel241's socials, this build would not have been possible without him! Shovel241's KZhead - kzhead.info Shovel241's Instagram - instagram.com/shovel241builds.mc/ This video took me over 250 hours to record and edit, if you enjoy it, please consider subscribing to help support me and the channel! If you are wondering why in some of the timelapse shots the day cycle isn't changing, that's because I have a mod that makes it look like it's always day time during the replay mod shots. Thanks for reading!

  • since the islands are super high up in the clouds, the clouds condensate on the islands when they come in contact of each other, the water from the condensation eventually pools up into an area like a flood plain or hole and makes the waterfalls, also you should name the dog naga after Korras dog from avatar

  • 7:43 Rainfall, the same way water gets to the top of most mountains/hills. The water cycle is just water falling, evaporating, then falling again, and it looks like that island is inside of clouds rather than above them, so the water can still reasonably get there!

  • You said you wanted an explanation on how the water gets to the waterfall. Basically, the vines are super water absorbent, and that's how they carry so much weight. The water travels from the ground where it touches and also from rain all over the island carried by clouds the islands touch. The vines pick up that water and carry it upwards, and it eventually makes its wat to a water reserve (a lake like thing) that water then flows off the island back dispersing again to be recycled back up.

  • You questioned why the waterfalls appeared on the edge of the floating mountains, and I'll tell you why: There could be a number of explanations for how the floating islands of Pandora came to have waterfalls. The most logical answer is that the Hallelujah Mountains are regularly engulfed in fog, as you can see from the movie sequence. Similar to how a soccer net may get wet after a fog, the dense trees and bushes on top of the floating island may have retained the water particles in the air. These waters might build up, and given the persistent fog, it is simple for them to do so on top of the islands to accumulate enough water to generate a stream, leading to a waterfall.

  • Absolutely insane, you gave us so much motivation just by this one huge project. Also theory about the wafer falls: if they are high up, perhaps the water which evaporates from the surface of the ocean lifts up and catalyses into water, which falls onto the islands and via caves inside the islands finds its way out.

    @iliaku@iliaku Жыл бұрын
    • I think it has to do more with the constant fog that surrounds the islands. Just like grass and plants get covered in dew after a foggy night I think that because the islands are constantly being surrounded by fog there is enough water accumulated to create a body of water in the islands and the waterfalls are a result of it. But I also agree with you lol

  • The minerals that cause the islands to float also have the property of rapid moisture condensation. This moisture works through the other minerals via capillary action, and pools in concave areas. The floating rocks aren't gyroscopes though, and while they have strong inertia, eventually they do tip over enough to spill these collected pools. Eventually, the waterfalls stop when the pools run out of water, but will repool elsewhere on the rock in a surprisingly small amount of time, and then you get a new waterfall.

  • I know I’m late but the waterfall sources are most likely the result of rapid condensation! Being so high up in the air means there would be a *lot* of atmospheric water, which would collect on any surface available. Being that the plants are hella leafy and the ground seems to be mostly stone and moss (in the movies) it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to believe water would collect at low points, eventually eroding away those little waterfalls. They seem to be relatively low speed and rather thin- but that’s just my best guess!

  • So there’s probably like a a river or a lake connected to the waterfall up there, and then the rainwater can go down in the waterfall. It just has to have a massive amount for the waterfall going down for such a long time and the island looks pretty big so it could work. Give me my island.

  • What about an Avatar dimension? Make this procedural? The islands are connected, but you could do that the same way roads between villager houses work, or just spawning multiple islands in with each other in one mesh for a more simple implementation than the first idea. Combine that with having a friend make the ground-floor, adding a ton of new animals, birds, fish, and especially flora, and a new blue villager, and you've got it! Unobtanium would be the obvious maine resource, as well as a new rideable mount, that you need to fight difficult mobs to get to. Plus a cool skybox and that big tree

  • so i think the waterfall works the exact same way normal waterfalls do in the way that water gets up there, water vapor turns into precipitate all the way up there and then it flows through the easiest path which ends up falling over the side, but i have absolutely no idea how it falls off of the floating mountains. i think the mountains are made up of floating rocks and all the foliage and water just exists on the floating rocks i hope i explained this okay ish? also this video is insane, tons of work with insane payoff, amazing work

  • Explanation for the waterfalls: basically there is a massive sea underneath the islands and the planet (Pandora) is quite warm so the sun evaporates the water from the sea, condenses it into water droplets in the atmosphere and precipitates (rains) the water down onto the island into the lake/reservoir on the island. It is also worth to mention that vines are very water absorbent so it picks up water from other islands and makes its way to the reservoir. You can also see that the island is huge so it has lots of surface area and the waterfall doesn't reach the ground. instead it evaporates quite quickly make it almost fully self sufficient. this is how it works and my name is Alfin Galil. Thanks for giving me a chance to have something named after me and you have now got yourself a new subscriber.

    • The minerals that cause them to float also have the property of rapid moisture condensation.
