In northern Scandinavia the kuksa/kåsa is traditionally made from the round out-growths that you some times find on birch trees. The kåsa usually has this traditional beak at the front just as you made it and the handle sometimes resembles a abstract head of a grouse so that the whole kåsa is reminiscent of a grouse. The really fine ones don't have flat bottom but are round all the way on the underside but will still ballance nicelly on a flat table. The round bottom is also easier to ballance on the ground when you are out in nature while a flat bottom needs a flat area to sit right. Nice video, I enjoyed watching this.
Love it... Spent the day out bushcrafting and woodcarving then came home, lifted weights, and am now sitting down eating a hot meal watching someone do what I did all day in a completely different part of the world. There is something so satisfying and therapeutic about watching a fellow woodsman and craftsman do their thing. Excellent work and video, definitely subscribing!
When you stopped to put the bandaid on your finger, I felt like you were saying "Take care of your tools, and remember, your hands are the most important tools of all"
Thank you for your watching and comments. Take care. :)
dude you just hypnotised me, i couldnt stop watching from start to finish
Thank you for keeping the old craft alive......
That was so peaceful and enjoyable to watch thank you.
Really sharp tools 👍
Excellent video. It's a refreshing distraction from world events.
Cool seeing a Korean using Swedish, Swiss European tools/methods to carve a traditional European cup. The Brother did a fine job. Cultural appropriation. NO! Simply a guy finding merit in another cultures ways and following them. Carve on Bro! Thumbs up!
Thank you for your watching and comments. it makes me happy. :)
I know right!! I can’t wait to watch the rest of his videos!!
Пп
culture appropriation should be exclusively used to stop people from mocking another culture. If you respectfully take inspiration, or just use it because it works for you, it's never cultural appropriation, it's the most basic way people learn from each other, like they always had
@@Mulleh another weird Swedish coincidence is that we have an outdoor activity/school for children, 7-9 year old, called "Mulle" :) sv.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skogsmulle
this is what I call a perfect kuksa...congratulation, you have good skills👏👏
Thank you for your comments. :)
It would be a perfect kuksa, if the kuksa is made of burl. "Pro" kuksa is made of birch burl. Otherwise its just a wooden cup like this "kuksa" here.
Thanks for the video! The bandaid was funny! Nice to see I'm not the only one getting cut up on the wood, better than being cut by the tools!
One of the best demonstrations I've seen, thanks
Nice tools and a skilful hand to use them, most relaxing thing to watch.
Ahh this was so wholesome. Fantastic care for tools, quality of visual craft in camera angles, acknowledgement of first aid and spider frens. I also stick my ax in things and then tap them to cut! I learned so much from this. I am inspired to start carving my spoons again. Thankyou.
Thanks from Russia 🇷🇺🇯🇵
Indonesia sangat menyukai bakatmu 👍
This turned out beautifully!
Fantastic carving ability. Really enjoyed seeing someone with that caliber of skill get a bandaid. Realities of work! No complaints from me.
Instant follow! I like your skills, how you treat your tools, how you handle them. How you handle the wood. How you smooth things out. I think you already did a great job only yousing the axe and the first gouge! The end-result is very nice. You shoot the video from such nice angles that we can learn so much from them! Thnak you very much. Now I have to see all your past videos. Looking forward to them and also to your future ones. You're a true master!
I'm so happy with your attention and comments. Thank you so much! :)
Thank you, Master Kim. From one master craftsman to another: it has truly been an honor watching you at work!
I'm very happy because of your comment. Thank you so much, Douglas! Happy carving :)
WOW! im speechless! that was incredibly impressive! you almost carved out that entire cup using just the axe!
Thank you for your watching and comments. :)
I love watching craftsmen and woman. Anyone that excels in there craft regardless of what it is to this level is something to admire.
Your axe is scary sharp!!
tremendous workmanship, congratulations.
Beautiful job. One of the best ive seen so far on youtube.
....
Thank you , Dean. :)
Amazing, I kept waiting for the sand paper and some sort of power tool, that was awesome to see someone take that kind of care and time into something as simple as a piece of wood and make it into a beautiful, functional, piece of art. This was the first video I've ever seen of this channel and I will definitely be back for more.
Dear.. Thank you for your watching and comments. Take care! :)

True craftsmanship here! Amazing how you work the wood & very inspiring. A beauty of Kuska you've worked out with your skills
My God, those tools cut through wood like it's butter...
Thank you, Jamie. Enjoy carving life! :)
@@Mulleh Heh, I try. Still working on precision, but I'm getting there!
@@jamiebrooks457 I'm still working on not cutting my hands off
@@laurenceranking810 it's way easier to avoid with hand tools like this! As long as you're careful around axes, adzes, chisels, and gouges, you're pretty unlikely to hurt yourself seriously
The thing that impressed me the most was the flexible ruler at 3:20
Yes you did. :) I recommend that you get one of these flexible rulers for the Kolrosing. Thank you.

Thank you, Skip Gue. Have a great weekend!
Such smooth surface without sanding at all 😍
If you have a very sharp edge and a bit of skill, you can do it too. Thank you Lina. Take care!
Fantastic video - I'm going to drag out my carving tools, sharpen them and start making a cup. Nice to see some good axe work as well - I have been trying to teach my friends to use an axe more than just for chopping.
Thank you for your watching and comments. The axe is so great! :)
Amazed of his attention to details! Really nice work :) Joy to watch such mastery

Thank you for your comments. :)
Incredible work.
Bravo. Beautiful.
Nice work!
Muy buen trabajo! Excelentes herramientas.
Thank you for your comments. :)
Amazing work ! Best wishes from France
