Welcome back again! this week we are showcasing our W140 S70, 7.0L V12. To us its one of the cherries to the collection so we hope you guys like it too let us know in the comments!
There were approximately only around 18 to maybe 30 S70's ever made and this is one of them. What makes this one even more special though is that it has Recaro seats all around and everything is blue on blue from the exterior to the exterior. Enjoy watching!

In my opinion this is the greatest sedan of all the time. The technology and comfort on this vehicle was ahead of its time.

Thank you for showing off this beast! I really miss the 90's, when almost every auto manufacturer actually poured money into development and tried to squeeze every gadget/feature possible into even the mainstream cars. I couldn't afford the W124 in the early 90's, so I bought a 92 Toyota Corona CD (T170). That car was built solid like a tank and even had a chilled compartment in the dash! Sold it to a friend after 8 years & took over ownership of my dad's 85 W123 230 saloon. Both cars lasted well into the 2010's. The Toyota was scrapped after an accident and the W123 developed too much rust to repair economically. I can only dream about the W140 back then, much less this S70!
Nice to hear your story, and yes they don't make them like they used to! Too bad th W123 didn't survive but at least it sounds you' ve got good memories from it!
I never owned a Mercedes product but bought a S430 and let me tell you how solid the smooth V8 is and the luxury amenities it still holds a hell of a lot of presence in many many circles of the upper echelon and even on the lower sides. It has Panaz and yes I know Lexus and Acura still have special lastng value and luxury but you cant ignore where luxury started and who truly undetstands it from the beggining. Respect and beautiful machine

Excellent video and enjoyed the banter. My 89 midnight blue with lush creme beige interior AMG 560SEL is a tasty colour combo as well and runs the AMG 3 piece forged Aero rims of course. M120 bored out is epic

Great video thanks. What is most fascinating about the car how well it handles. A savvy driver can conduct high speed transportation extremely well. It does it effortlessly and you won’t believe it without looking at the speedometer etc ..

Well...I guess one probably hardly can get more "top of the line" than a W140 spec'ed in such exclusive configuration. W140, to me, will forever be the coolest S-Class. Thanks for the video! PS: serious question...is there a version more exclusive (in terms of engine/color configuration) than this one? Maybe like, an S73 AMG in an even more uncommon exterior/interior color?
To our knowledge this is the craziest combination for a S70 W140 but we can never rule out that the other approx 17 original AMG S70's aren't as special spec'ed as this one is.
@@benzcollectorsneek Awesome! 😁 And it seems like the 70 and 72 (from what I researched about it) models are rarer than the 73's. Very little info about them on the web. The power/torque difference between them is also very small, from what I read. I find fascinating these little details, actually. 😆

My relative of mine who’s a Mercedes specialist serviced one of these, one of 7 in RHD if I’m correct. Black wheels, interior and paint. Ended up selling for €99,995 I think.

Nice one. I am not a fan of the model itself - i.e. the looks of the car itself - but the AMG options make it interesting. Who was the initial owner of this car? A sheikh? And which one?
The car was delivered in Germany and went to Japan for some amount of time but we don't know who owned and ordered the car
@@benzcollectorsneek Just a few random guesses, but it's probably not a native Japanese businessman as back then most of them bought Japanese luxury cars as a symbol of patriotism. Could be the owner of some foreign MNC, or if it's a Japanese private individual with that kind of money, it's likely someone you don't want to mess with, if you get what I mean.

It's because of the material used to coat the buttons from the factory, it degrades over time causing it to wear out and be sticky.
