I know bands make the most $$ touring and merch sales, but some sound way better in the studio. They were using backing vocal tracks. She just sounded rough.

Could be the phone and it looked windy also. I saw them this past September she sounded great.

the backing vocal track thing is a product of whether a band wants their live to sound closer to the studio track. bad omens, bmth etc also do it for parts of certain songs. like, spiritbox usually has a load of different vocal tracks playing at once in any given song, even the screams on like holy roller have mixed highs and lows playing at the same time. it's a tough decision at the end of the day. sacrifice sound for authenticity or provide the customers with the product they're expecting? on a side note, it's interesting you dont mention the guitar backing tracks, since having 1 guitarist in songs written for 2 guitars is very telling live lol

@@mofonofo Understood. There’s a lot of electronics used for shows. I just noticed that the ones used for vocal layerings, because she was having a tough time. Sometimes a rhythm guitarist is hanging out on the sides. I wasn’t really listening to critique, but this is one band I’ve never seen live. After the first song, it got better. It’s cell phone footage too.

It’s a phone recording. Not sure how that is a good way to judge.
