What brand of shoes were in this video?
I have a question...what kind of conditioning oil works for the shoes?
We want to translate into Arabic
The leather on my worn shoes look exactly like on the video. I hope I'll be able to fix them
Thanks for the tip to not use the toothbrush I put in my own mouth... I grabbed my wife’s toothbrush instead.
You better hope she doesn't reads this. 😂
classic mistake
Brilliant
Just don’t kiss your wife now 😅
😂😂
"Using a toothbrush, preferably not the one you use in your mouth..." LOL! Classic!
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🇵🇰
Wouldn't want them germs on my favourite pair of shoes
I've got a pair of Florsheim Imperial wingtips, black, that I bought in January 1982. These were made in the USA then and they are amazing. I still wear them, and they still look and feel great. I've had them relined and resoled a number of times. I remember my dad being incredulous that I would spend $100 on a pair of shoes back then (yet Dad NEVER bought cheap shoes, lol!) I told him that they would be the last black shoes I would ever buy, or ever need. That was true until a couple of years ago when I broke down and bought some nice Allen Edmonds black smooth oxfords. Cheap shoes waste your money and hurt your feet. Quality shoes are better for your feet, and with care, can literally last you for an entire career. My Florsheims proved that to me.
Quick tip for the iron crease removing method: Double check your temperature setting!! Had a mishap, scorched and badly discoloured my old boots (though the creases were reduced). Luckily I had some leather dye about, did some mixing to get as close to the original colour as I could and redyed. Actually ended up being a richer colour than originally on it, so overall happy days! Just don't forget, check that temperature gauge!
that is on you for being clumsy i’m sure he told us to put it in the cotton setting temperature
@@investigate711 Yes, which is why I said to double check. Measure twice, cut once and all that
@@investigate711 isn't the cotton setting the highest one? or is it just my iron that doesn't get hotter
Second this. May want to use a lower setting than cotton. Luckily the scorched part was just the along the inside arch of my shoe.
That's right. Infant I lost two pair of shoes leather lost it's shine had to throw them.
Nice brogues, Antonio! I use 'Brasso' to work off scuff marks and also remove excessive polish build-up. Works equally well. This trick was taught again by one of my orderlies when I was in the Indian Army. Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Antonio, I have been looking for answers to these questions for years. Thank you!!!!
This video was very informative. I bought some really nice shoes from a thrift store with mild creasing. I tried your technique and it really helped. Shoe trees have made the creases disappear. Thanks for the info!
Thanks Antonio! I’ve always wondered if I could repair shoe creases and now I know how.
Oh wow! Thank you. I've been looking for this info for years.
Lovely! Needed this. Thanks Antonio!
Just when i needed it!! Thanks Antonio!
Antonio I will follow this process step by step. Great you share all these tricks!
You've just gained a new subscriber. Fantastic video and some interesting techniques that I've never seen before.

The best channel I have seen ❤️
You're one of those channels the videos which i like first and watch next.
Thank you very much, at the point where you iron the shoes I stopped your video, and found my old Cole Hahn boots that had horrible scuffs from hot water and did exactly the same. The boots now look like new . 🎉

Great video, Antonio. Terrific explanation and detail. I was going to ask you about the Marine Corps influence on you and you addressed that at the very end. LOL. I NEVER saw anyone make their shoes glisten like a Marine.

Show trees are sooo important!
I have been using these methods for ages and I have pairs of shoes that are still in a very good condition. People often ask if I had bought a new pair, seriously ! Sometimes though , if the shoes are in a really bad shape, it might even be cheaper to just buy a new pair :) .
Very useful video!!
Wow! You've covered stuff here I've not seen elsewhere. I'm finding it hard to get newspaper these days, so I use shoe trees, instead. When hotels make local newspapers available, I use them instead of shoe trees at night when traveling.
Well done Marine
Great video, I'm going to need more creams
Only have one pair of dress shoes but I have a few pairs of Nike’s and Jordan’s and I will definitely be trying this out
Could of done with this video yesterday, I have just got me a new pair of shoes. Another great video
Great video Antonio Any suggestions for Suede ?
Instead of the wash cloth + iron method, I use the steam from a kettle. Works great if you know how to do it properly. With this method, I already got dozens of shoes back to shape. Even my shoe maker was pretty impressed when I showed him what I was able to achieve with old shoes most people would have thrown into the trash bin. But for really good results you definitely need to invest more than five minutes of work. ;) And something very important, because I think that's a big flaw in this video: ALWAYS use leather conditioner (and wait a day or two) BEFORE doing anything else! Especially steps that contain water or steam. If you are working on very old and/or dried leather, it is very likely that it will be destroyed with water or steam if it hasn't been treated with conditioner beforehand!
Surely if you apply conditioner before washing the shoe, you're just going to wash the conditioner off?
@@ntuthuko3175 the leather “drinks” the conditioner up. Imagine putting moisturiser on your skin and waiting for five mins. It’s like that.
@@sean1e100... and then going to take a bath - you forgot that part, which is the crux of my comment.
@@ntuthuko3175 actually that's preceisely what I was getting at. You wouldnt wash moisturiser off if you got a bath / shower after moisturising, because it's penetrated and absorbed into your skin. If anything the oils in the conditioner help with pulling water further into the leather once it "bathes". Washing something "off" would imply that that the conditioner sits on the surface and then the water washes it away, which it doesnt... in short, you dont need to worry about it 👍
@@sean1e100 Alright that's interesting. Thank you.
I've just planted some shoe trees in the garden so hopefully I'll get a small harvest of tiny shoes next summer.
Ciao Antonio, video molto utile. Grazie !
Great Information Uh Rah
I like the Brown ones . you have all the stuff for shoes all the tricks
Thank you kindly for this Informative video
Toss in edge dressing and you're golden! 👍🏾
this is amazing, thank you
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks b. I got some shoes im going to try this out with
Man you are too good. Thanks for sharing😊.
My army boots are 9 years old and they still look really nice, i mostly wear them when i ride my bike, they are the first pair of boots given to me and i hold them like a relic!
This really helped with my school shoes ((: thanks for the video
Thanks for all the great videos on style. I have taken a lot of your advice, particularly on business attire, and it has paid off. Ladies in my office refer to me as the best dressed guy in the office and frequently compliment me on my outfit. Some even come by my office to see which shoes I am wearing. :-) Keep up the good work!
The toothbrush a charm!!! Thanks!!
This video is very helpful. Thanks a lot!
Welcome Art. We'll have more videos like this.
Nice video thank you !!
Thx ‘. Great content
Quite good as it is a fast version!!
Cool. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tip. I'm definitely going to try that toothpaste one.
Best damn video I’ve seen in a long time
Love it !
Awesome tutorial! And happy Marine Corps Birthday, by the way!
This is great video. Thumbs up
Maybe you should do a coop with AmmoNYC? Larry certainly knows a lot about leather and cloth cleaning and restoration and can explain it at a very deep level
Excellent video I had no idea I needed a shoe tree
Excellent.
This is an art
Thank you so much
This is amazing @realmenrealstyle
Awo wow! Haha this really worked Thank you.
Watching this to see how to get scuffs off my boots. Since I normally just use wax polish on them do I need to remove the wax polish before using the saddle soap or toothpaste?
This will come in handy for maintaining my Nam era combat boots.
Thank you know I know how to take more care of my dress boot
Good idea
Thanks Antonio
Genius!❤
Thank you
