Things I cut out of the video that are still interesting:
1. Colby's first loss at UFC 194 headlined by Conor McGregor VS Jose Aldo. Many people argue that McGregor paved the way for Colby to become who he is, acting as a 'mentor' of some sort. I decided not to include that because it's a speculative argument and of course, has been denied by Covington.
2. Masvidal's first fight when he came back was against Darren Till. He knocked him out. He then fought Ben Askren and won the BMF belt against Nate Diaz. I cut out Till and Diaz to keep the pace high and because they weren't as impactful as the win over Askren overall.
3. I almost called this video Covington VS Masvidal: From Bros to Foes. Kinda had a ring to it.

Because bro that’s been proven to be 100% false he said they told him they were going to cut him because he was basically boring or whatever which I mean already sounded completely ridiculous you don’t cut top 5 contenders ON A WINNING STREAK LOL it just didn’t add up then come to find out he actually started the shtick in the fight or two before that one which made me think it cousin be true that they threatened to cut him but not because he was boring instead because he had just said alllll that shit and Brazilians seem to get butthurt when you go on them or their country lol and Colby wasn’t selling he was nowhere near a big draw even after doing all that talking cause we all knew it was just an act so I’m thinking they’re looking at it like dude we have to have security for him when the fights are at certain places, he started problems with almost everyone on the roster, etc, etc…so I feel like it’s the complete opposite reason as to what he’s saying unless it’s just a 100% fabrication which is entirely possibly lol

Masvidal did a whole lot for him at the beginning of his career. Hell we seen it in this video when he told Jorge “I wouldn’t be here without you.” Which is why it’s really ironic hearing him tell Masvidal that he only cares about himself, and it really doesn’t make sense.

    • It’s an act. All of it except for what happens in the ring. Like we all know, the best way to get ‘clicks’ is to elicit any strong emotion. These fighters want to retire young and live a comfortable lifestyle. If they have kids, they want to be able to provide a lifetime of security for them as well. It’s not about filling seats for a particular fight. It’s about retaining current fans and gaining new ones for the UFC brand. That’s where the money is. Sponsors will fall into place. There are business and PR agents at work, talking behind the scenes and making it entertaining. UFC is a business above all else.

  • Imagine being in Colby's shoes before all the controversy. Following your dreams, putting everything you are into becoming the best you can be, working your way up and winning fights while staying humble. A man of principle that gives credit to those that support him. A man of honor. How is he rewarded? By being told he was being tossed out like yesterday's trash. It's no wonder that he decided to flip the script and make a 180-degree turn-around. He has made brilliant use of the science of triggering people and it is one of the saddest examples of the human condition that I have seen in modern sports. But think about it and take the science to a broader perspective. If this strategy works in this example, where else is it being used to exploit social perception? EVERYWHERE! Social media, main-stream media...politics! Everywhere you look you can see examples of The Complex Science of Triggering People being used to manipulate, separate and compartmentalize humanity into pre-arranged groups that are ripe and ready for exploitation. This science has shined a spotlight on the human psyche and exposed us all to being little better than Pavlov's dogs. I hope that Colby's adopted persona is all an act and that he and Masvidal are still good friends. Imagine if they planned the whole rivalry. Now that would be brilliant. Just saying.

  • Great video. I think it started as an act, but when you act a certain way long enough, people start to treat you like that character that you're playing. After being treated like the character he was playing for so long, and reacting as that character, I think he's actually started to believe it. When you argue a certain point long enough, whether or not you believed it to start with, you will eventually start to blur that line and become that other character in certain aspects. It's sad to see what happened though, knowing this isn't the route he initially wanted, but wound up being pushed towards. At the end of the day, it was his decision to take it to the extent that he did. Congrats to him on his career, seems like he worked hard for it, but I can't respect his decisions.

What I can see happening with him is he gains the world and realizes it's not worth losing his soul and he repents for things he did because for some reason I feel like Jesus has much bigger plans for him. I also wouldn't be shocked if the relationship with he and masvidal was rekindled through Christ all things are possible and I know Masvidal understand that truth.
