FIFA 12 Skilled Dribbling enables close control of the ball and allows you to get out of some really tight spaces.
It also give your player a huge acceleration boost on exit to help you skip past defenders with ease.
Skilled dribbling comes in really handy for beating those players that overuse the contain button.

@hooseman42 There's no actual skill moves involved. When running hold both triggers. This slows you down and draws in the defender and gives you small time to decide which directions best to exit to get away from the defender. Then release the triggers whilst going in the direction you want to exit. You can also flick the right thumbstick for an extra boost on exit. (You only need to hold the triggers for about 1/2 a second)

@lozzarini99 I've never played a set up match in my life. The demonstrations were against the AI on World Class and the online footage at the end were all competitive Ultimate Team games.

@MrJaapdeboer The timing's important. When you release the triggers you get a nice acceleration boost that can springboard you past defenders. Need to practice holding the triggers then releasing them and get used to how you exit at different directions.
no press l1 and r1, the default r2 is sprint and l2 is that close control dribbling where you move very slow basically hold the L button that you don,t use to chip and the R button that you use to sprint
@UltimateFifaTV You are so right! Timing is too much underrated by Fifa players...
If you've got 93 dribbling then your Pro will do the skilled dribbling animation automatically sometimes when you're running at someone but using the triggers you can be in complete control of it and not have to hope the animation kicks in.

Lol, I thought you could only do this with a guy with high dribbling, ball control, balance, etc. Basically, Robben, Ribery, half the Barcelona squad, etc. With those, you don't need to hold any triggers down, it triggers on his own once you get close to the defender. Timing's a bit tricky though. And the speed boost is just sick. It basically jumps you right into top speed.
It's the BEST way to take on players that abuse contain ;)

How do instantaneously go into the skilled dribbling side steps straight from a sprint?
i change the sprint button to R1, so to do skilled dribbling its L2, the slow dribble and the sprint button R1 for my control. So we just hold the buttons or what?
How do you do that stop and drag move @ 1:44 ? Or what is it called?
Can any player do this? for example, i'm aston villa on career and my main problem is getting past players in midfield. Could someone like albrighton do this or whatever?

Are you sure everyone can do skill dribbling. Cause when i try it with a rubbish team they dont strafe or anything
