Bratton Hillfort Wiltshire was the area of the very first excavation of a hillfort in Wiltshire in the 18th Century by a forgotten schoolmaster with a passion for history and knowledge. I walk through the area to gain a feeling for the man and his finds !

Lovely video I had many a happy childhood picnic up there in the 50's but I didn't know about the longbarrow.

Mole Hill archeology, I'm sure there will be a PhD or two in there somewhere. Sounds like an interesting chap, and hopefully inspired an inquisitive mind in his students. Thanks James

Just down the road, we do a circuit walk quite often, nice to see the horse is staying white after it's recent renovation, just a shame the road ploughs through it.
