Hello friends. Today i will show you Do Not Throw Away the Old Ceramic Hob \ DIY Amazing Project For Workshop.
In the video I will use an old ceramic stove. I will also use an empty old Freon bottle. I'm going to use a 900 degree heat controller and an old metal box. What came out is something great. Aluminum melting furnace. Aluminum is widely used in my workshop. I decided to make a furnace for melting aluminum. Aluminum melts at a temperature of about 750 degrees.
Let me give you a quick calculation.
2.9 kw is for the two hobs, the small one is 1.2 kw. 1,2kw is 1200 watt.
1200w x 2 hours. (in 2 hours melts aluminum) this is 2400 watts of energy consumed. 2400watts =2.4kw. This 2,4kw cost me $2!!
What is expensive and unprofitable? I make lathe blanks that I will use. A ready-made blank in this size costs 30-40 dollars... I have a lot of aluminum scrap. I hope you don't think it's expensive anymore, because it's not!
I have a lot of aluminum scrap and decided to make a lathe billet. I hope you enjoy the video!

    • Thanks my friend, 🍀👍☺️ This is a heat-resistant clay "soil" In addition to being heat-resistant, it also has electrical insulation properties. 👍🍀☺️

    • Fireclay is one of the most common refractory lining materials available but a far better level of furnace lining insulation is achieved by using a Kao-wool blanket as the first layer.

  • Hello developer. Congratulations on the work. A question: can you provide the specifications of the temperature controller used in your project?

  • You’ll have a lot less trouble with your arc stability if you use a tighter arc a short electrode stickout. Nice build.

  • You need a way to remove the element after you spill some aluminium on it and burn it out.. next time add sawdust to the clay that will burn out and leave cavities and much better insulation . Also sometimes it is better to fire the whole thing in a bigger container or mix the clay with cement so it goes hard without firing.

  • This molten metal will fall on the heater and it will be after fun. A little weak to it. A lot of work, the effect is so-so.

    • You're right, the efficiency of a gas furnace is better, I agree. The important thing is to do something with a few materials to do the job.

    • @@HandmadeCreativeChannel You can make an electric stove that will successfully heat the interior enough to even melt glass, but you would have to do it differently with other heaters. But better than nothing. Good luck.
