    • This thing is basically a Lexus without the badge. This Capstone is a really luxurious SUV it’s Yukon Denali, Caddliac Escalade type luxury. Same thing with the Tundra Capstone, it’s basically a Lexus truck. In the same way the Sierra Denali is basically a Caddliac truck.

    • Coming back… every single dealer in BC listed new and used tacomas minimum $94,000 for SR5, $108,000 for Capstone now, $115k for TRD Pro now. A year ago it was $134,000

  • man that thing is awesome. I have a 2010 manual forester and it's awesome, confident and comfy but I do wish for a generally more capable and larger/faster car sometimes. once this forester starts dying, then i'll consider getting something like the sequoia but that wont be for a LONG time since my fozzy is only at 78k miles. also the fact that this new sequoia gets just BARELY worse mileage than my forester is awesome

  • People can say all they want about this being a $80,000 Toyota but to be honest this thing is on the same level as luxury vehicles and it’s worth every penny of the 80 grand price tag, I don’t see why a badge should matter and I especially don’t see why it should determine the value of a vehicle

  • The fact that the second row seat doesn’t slide is strange. The new Grand Highlander second row seat does slide backward and forward. Also, I don’t know why we can’t have bench second row seat option in higher trims.

    • Yes get a sedan. If it is only you and your wife (rn) i would recommend a hatchback. Great fuel economy and driving experience. If you want something bigger get like a honda civic or some reliable car with mpg.

  • For those commenting about the 3rd row, high price hybrid drive train. Wife and I are on the fence about this Sequoia as well. I think we are going to wait and see what Toyota does with their Grand Highlander. It could be a cheaper Sequoia without the Hybrid drive train, and flat 3rd row.

    • That is apologist speak; the biggest issue is they went BACK to a solid axel - that is why the third row and cargo area are jacked and that is a cost cutting measure for sure.

  • Just bought this thing, and it eats gas like no other lmao. I got this on November 5, I have been to the gas station 6 times, lmaoooo. It's fun as heck, but there is body roll. I almost wonder if I moved too fast from my 2020 platinum highlander

  • This car is nice, the thing I don't understand or like is why do these manufacturers put all this plastic in these expensive vehicles. I saw a Mercedes GL 350 I think it was, the SUV back in 2020 and I sat inside and it didn't have any of this cheap plastic anywhere. Everywhere I looked was covered with leather or silver metal with matte finish.
