  • So the Toyota ditches the V8 for a turbo six and then proceeds to get way worse gas mileage than a V8. 🤯

    @hawkman996@hawkman9962 ай бұрын
    • There are some trade-offs, now the Sequoia is actually decently quick and is tunable because of the turbo.

    • Actually, according to the EPA, it gets 22 mpg combined, which is much better than the old V8. And I don't care what Sam got. I'd trust the EPA and manufacturer's testing more. All of my vehicles have gotten very similar to the EPA ratings.

    • @@ytsux9259 I trust real world figures. All my vehicles have been different from epa numbers. Hell my Durango SRT got 19 mpg regularly and that was a performance suv. Don’t get me wrong I’d pick the Toyota out of the 3 here. I just don’t like the spin that losing the V8 for a turbo 6 is more fuel efficient.

Forget about the rest - this is a pure NA V8 with none of those overrated gimmicks and us definitely less mechanically worrisome in the long run, proving to be more durable with the longevity of these 6.2L and 5.3L V8 engines. @g4do@g4do2 ай бұрын
    • You can't tune an engine like a sports car if it's going to go in a truck. You don't need that much torque in a light coupe and you can rely on the power however you need the torque to move a big ass truck. So naturally that's why torque/hp compromise occurs while tuning vehicles of different class. Same with the Toyota v6, in the Ls500 it makes the power equivalent to the total hybrid system hp of the sequoia but it's way less on torque.

    • @abdullahbinshahid3199 still doesn't make sense for the Denali/ Escalade/ Tahoe 6.2 liter to have 420 hp 460 lbs-ft for as long as it has . Durango , Jeep Trackhawk, Expedition all have upgraded performance over the years , and not just engine performance. General motors needs better performance to compete with their competitors. They haven't even tried but are charging more money for their trucks as if they have did more with them . I'm a fan of how they used to compete, not what they're currently doing. I mean look at what they've done to the Blazer !! Why ?
