It's not a dev-kit. It has no low level interfacing; it's as closed down as you can get. Can't even get an image into it via a wire, only in a particular way, via particular software of particular images If you have enough batt life on a Monday, during a full moon . The smartphones arent bad given that the base model is around £700 and is a superior device to the vision pro in every way bc it actually has a use case but the computers are still scams though the only good thing about them is the build quality and efficiency but for any mac you can get a superior desktop PC for the same price

If I was head of Apple, I'd hault production, fix whatever issues are currently being experienced, give anyone who bought the Vision Pro a Free Repair, re-release the Vision Pro Headset at $1,500 for the base 250GB model and $1,750 for the 1TB model (And yes, I'd completely scrap the other model in favor of MORE storage), and if it means we're selling at a loss it'll be worth it as it's more affordable and we can do a short campaign of releasing the re-released models at $1,400 and $1,600 for the launch month to get people interested. I'd also fix a LOT of Apple, but the Vision Pro is something I wouldn't want to give up on just yet

The price is silly, of course, however I think the real problem is that it does not have any purpose, To the best of my knowledge, vr as a whole is kinda questionable, however it has some good games, and thats about it. You can't really business with vr, even the Apple thingy lacks functionality and versatility, maybe if you only do meetings all day long. There are no apps for it, no things to do with it. If there is a cheaper alternative, that could help, purely because more people would be interested in making software for it. However unlike pcvr, it is unlikely that Valve will drop halflife 3 on the apple vision pro budget. And with it being even less likely that Apple will allow user to just upload and develop apps themselves without excessive meddling, there will simply be nothing to do on the apple vision pro. Its cool tech though

The quest 3 is made with vr gaming being the primary function. The vision pro is made for something that you don't even need the headset to do. Why would someone spend 3500 to wear a toaster on their head to do work or watch videos and television?

Well if you could use it for existing vr content people would buy it cause from my understanding it has better displays if anything. But you can't.
Thing is it IS better than every other "consumer" headset by a LOT tech and display wise. But since it's locked down in Apples ecosystem and they forgot to make it useful or fun, it's just a very impressive and expensive paper weight.

the whole "streaming your desktop" thing is something i can already do with my oculus rift effortlessly w/o lag and WITH perfect audio. it makes being on calls while playing games so much easier & i can use my pc remotely in the middle of vr stuff.

The smartphones arent bad given that the base model is around £700 and is a superior device to the vision pro in every way bc it actually has a use case but the computers are still scams though the only good thing about them is the build quality and efficiency but for any mac you can get a superior desktop PC for the same price

If I was head of Apple, I'd hault production, fix whatever issues are currently being experienced, give anyone who bought the Vision Pro a Free Repair, re-release the Vision Pro Headset at $1,500 for the base 250GB model and $1,750 for the 1TB model (And yes, I'd completely scrap the other model in favor of MORE storage), and if it means we're selling at a loss it'll be worth it as it's more affordable and we can do a short campaign of releasing the re-released models at $1,400 and $1,600 for the launch month to get people interested. I'd also fix a LOT of Apple, but the Vision Pro is something I wouldn't want to give up on just yet
There's no issues to fix, it is simply useless. What it was meant to do is not worth its price at all. The lack of audio in screen mirroring is just a beta feature that they can implement with an update. Who is going to go around with this in their head just so they don't have to look at their phone?

The price is silly, of course, however I think the real problem is that it does not have any purpose, To the best of my knowledge, vr as a whole is kinda questionable, however it has some good games, and thats about it. You can't really business with vr, even the Apple thingy lacks functionality and versatility, maybe if you only do meetings all day long. There are no apps for it, no things to do with it. If there is a cheaper alternative, that could help, purely because more people would be interested in making software for it. However unlike pcvr, it is unlikely that Valve will drop halflife 3 on the apple vision pro budget. And with it being even less likely that Apple will allow user to just upload and develop apps themselves without excessive meddling, there will simply be nothing to do on the apple vision pro. Its cool tech though
Gaming is a huge market, bigger than office implements. But this simply does less for more money. The only thing it does "more" of is with some gimmicks. But we are in 2024, you can't just sell a product based on a cool gimmick.
