  • I wouldn’t really recommend giving up house seniority for council rights. If you are a duke vassal, give you liege more taxes, take the march contract, and get council rights. The march contract cuts the taxes you pay in half and gives your castles a bigger garrison.

    • Think of it as dynasty simulator over everything else. If you don't have landed dynasty member you lose. Developing a country is secondary. Unfortunately CK3 obfuscates a lot of inheritance, succession, and research mechanics compared to CK2; the first two are the core fundamentals for a dynasty simulator. But the mechanics are still properly there and not toned down, just hidden. You could try out CK2 and then once you get a hang you can do CK3. CK2 is free iirc.

  • Another begginers tip One of the best war strategies you can use in CK3 is to leave besieging armies in case you're fighting someone weaker than you. Most domains need around 300 to 400 levies to be sieged. So if you have 1300 troops and you're enemy around 800 for example, you can leave 300 soldiers in a siege while you use the rest to bully your enemy's army into oblivion. For quick wars you must look forward not only into occupying territory, but also winning battles and this method aims to do both. Late game you'll often find yourself fighting stupid conflicts against bullshit rebelions or unprotected small foes and the longer you'll spend time in those wars the more money it will cost you. Just be careful not to leave your besieging armies unprotected, it's easy to manage this strategy early on, but late in game you can develop it into leaving 4 or 5 besieging armies while you use 3 ou 2 main ones to hunt down your enemies, and at this point you need to really be careful to not make your troops sitting ducks.

  • 6:32 At the moment I play as Ashari ruler and I get very frustrated when my bishop (can't remember relevant muslim title name) has low learning and I can't just replace him because of Ashari doctrines. But I've found a solution. I give him barony-tier church and then revoke it. That way he got replaced with a new guy. Haven't tested it with Catholics but I assume it will work the same way. Also if you are Catholic and on good terms with Pope or have hook on him you can ask Pope to excommunicate your bishop so he will become a criminal and you can imprison him. This is also great way to make a lot of coins because bishops amass thousands of gold and have no heir so if you banish them you'll get all money he has.

  • Somehow I managed to survive from 867 to the Late Medievals, and my Family is wildspread as wildspread it can be. In the main family there are 226 members and also have 23 cadet branch. I really don't know how happened but I survived the centuries (this is my first time as an emperor, 🙃modified my culture 3 times,🤑 changed the succession laws to primogeniture 😍) I have a ton of money 120K gold and even all my 140K armies are standing the monthly income is 456. It seems I just found out how playing tall works. Though my biggest problem is the Empire vs Empire wars. My main title is the French Emperor, and the HRE and Al-Andalus are the biggest thorns under my fingernails. Both the Sultan and the Kasier has similar strength than mine, however somehow they overpower me all the times after 1-1,5 years. There are 300-500K armies in both side and to me it is impossible to win the biggest battles, my vassals and allies are somehow ineffective, when i charge to battle even to a smallest they left their sieges and lost their progress. Ok i understand they adore my charismatic, diplomatic character but sigh. It seems every siege must complete by my secondary trebuchet&levies armie. Do i need to chase them all the time with my main army or what? I think the HRE can be claimable through election and a strong intrique character, and murder all other candidates. And after that Al-Andalus. Against them i have a De Jure Barcelona wargoal but cannot use the Holy War against Kingdom option, though they are muslims and French is catholic. Even the pope's crusade failed against them.

    • Focus on domain limit. It used to be called demesne in CK2. Go for steward focus to hold more counties and other physical holdings directly and ensure you have good county control. Money would easily reach +10 per month. When you're starting off, prioritise having counties with more buildings already constructed, and grant the few building counties to someone else if you cross the demesne limit. Troops is slightly complex, read each retinue on what they counter and prioritize having more counter variety than strengthening only one type. You could win with a good commander with this spread against an enemy army 125% your army.

    • I'd say it's the easiest to learn game in the whole paradox catalog. The tutorial is also pretty good for a strategy game and I would recommend you to replay it if you still can't figure out some of the basics. Also, as a beginner, try to take things more like The Sims than HOI4. By that I mean, try to focus less on world domination and more on playing tall and building a family. That's because CK3 is much more enjoyable if you focus more on the roleplay element. You can have a lot of fun and create many intricate stories just by playing as a bottom of the barrel count. Oh, and don't forget to always leave the tooltip on! It also does a good job at explaining stuff.

I had to rewind at least 20 times just to hear and comprehend what you were saying becauseitwassofastIcouldhardlytellonewordfromthenextsometimes! Also, this is *DEFINITELY* not a “for beginners” video. At *best* you could call it “25 tips for semi-experienced players (100-400 hrs in). There’s some decent information, but not cool to be misleading. A “for beginners” video would be more like, basic, “how to” or “where to find” type things. How to get started, what to avoid in the first generation or two… that sort of thing. Not trying to be a hater, as a brand new player though, I’m just disappointed and confused by 80% of the content and 95% of the presentation. Food for thought, meant to be constructive criticism so I hope you don’t take it badly. You have a lot of knowledge of the game so it could definitely help *actual beginners* if you focused it on very early game/mechanics/general tips.

Read up about them, they were all diplomatic around France and never committed any offensive wars etc. Here's a bit about them: The Waldensian Christian movement originated in France during the 12th century. The main principle behind the movement is asceticism, which means its followers were to follow Christ in poverty and simplicity, living a simple life with little comfort. The name of the movement has many variations.
