  • It looks like, on that first lighter, it's designed to be opened with a coin, rather than a screwdriver. A lot of portable products, which need maintenance are designed to be accessed like that. Since people are more likely to have a coin with them than a screwdriver.

  • The second lighter, the one that burns to the side, is a pipe lighter and that tool is used for packing and picking the bowl of the pipe. To pack or loosen the tabaccoo.

  • #2 - The lighter with the sideways flame I would guess was designed with pipe smokers in mind. It would seem to be ideal for pipes.

    • @@SnowFiresinger are you sure? Only a few countries use Fahrenheit as their official scale: the United States, Belize, Palau, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. Fahrenheit is still sometimes used in Canada, although Celsius is more common and is the official Canadian temperature scale

  • On that 2nd lighter, while yes a screwdriver technically. Its only for the lighter. The base is actually a tamping tool for pipes

    • You’re going to have to be specific. A lot of them open. If you mean the first lighter, it’s called a trench lighter.
