Furious Alonso Slams FIA After New Evidence Found!
Ferrari really thought they were doing something by dropping Sainz didn't they? The return of the smooth operator following a smooth operation when his Appendix blew out mid-race weekend in Jeddah saw Ferrari take to the top step, with the Spaniard adding another win to his repertoire, not only making the Scuderia look pretty foolish in the grand scheme of things, but once again displaying a coolness in races that his teammate just cannot seem to replicate beyond one lap. The Australian grand prix threw up an absolute smorgasbord of racing splendour, with the heights of impressive drives being balanced out by technical errors and yet another high profile incident in the last lap of the race. Some G’s moved in silence like Lasagne, like Yuki Tsunoda and the McLarens capping off tidy weekends with impressive points hauls, while those that were most vocal after the race sounded like doomsayers, claiming that the issues were out of their hands and had every sense that the world was against them.

  • Russel has issues with concentration at the end of races - him against Bottas when in Williams - Singapore - Melbourne - Alonso did nothing he’s not done for his whole career - the newer kids who learned on simulators that consistency is what fastest lap is about don’t understand that slowing and variable speeds or cornering angles is what a racer does to keep a faster driver at bay… Russell proves he’s not a real racer… He should be afraid that Merc choose Alonso

  • This penalty is ridiculous. Cars have drivers for a reason. It is the driver who drives the car and applies tactics, strategy, and maneuvers according to his judgment. Alonso was clearly far enough ahead of Russel for Russel to react, which Russel failed to do. The ruling of the stewards implies that the stewards know better than Alonso how Alonso's car should have been driven. Maybe the stewards should drive the cars? Perhaps they should have driven Russell's car and avoided the slide that led to the crash? This is a farce.

    • I must admit i watched the footage in slow motion, and it didnt immediately spring to my mind that Alonso had brake checked him, it looked to me like a car issue, purely as George seemed to take a double bite at the steering wheel and it didnt stick. Which to me suggests he did lose some downforce.

      @DS-cf1zc@DS-cf1zcАй бұрын
    • Tricking the driver behind you have been a race tactics since the beginning of racing. Almost every time it just served to upset the cornering a bit for the driver behind you forcing them to take a less than ideal path and lose momentum, sometimes it has resulted i that the driver pulling that trick was overtaken, but in this case Russel crashed. Just accept that it happens. In earlier years it was often called "a missed gearshift" and then it was fine.

  • Imo GR should have been ready to 'race' FA. If he saw the car in front coming closer why didn't he brake a little or get off the throttle too and keep the gap. Using race craft, your skills and wit is part of racing. Sad to see the penalty FA received i don't agree with the decision. Moving forward they could add indicators and brake lights to the rear of the car and headlight to the front so they can flash the car in front. That might help 😅

He created turbulence and then Russell crashed.... I would have accepted Russell's argument had it been that Alonso ate a ton of beans prior to the race and was ripping farts the whole time (disturbance in the air). • Carlos has shown that he can think for himself. Several times when the Ferrari strategist gave him calls that would compromise his race, he overruled them: -At Silverstone when he got his first win, the team wanted him to try and hold back rival drivers while he had fresh tires and Charles, in front of him had old ones. Charles did not go in for tires off of a yellow flag situation (the team made the call too late iirc, as he had just past the pit entrance) -At Monaco where Sainz nearly won (were it not for some Williams drivers ignoring blue flags on key out laps), the team called him to switch to intermediates, he held out until the track dried enough for softs. Charles was caught in a bad choice from the team to do a double pitstop. Again late call from the team when they told him to stay out, he was already in the pitlane. Caused him to drop from 3rd to fourth behind Max. -And then you have Carlos' masterclass win last season where he controlled the race from the get go.

  • Red Bull cant rid of Perez soon enough. I'm so weary of his never ending excuses. He's been there 2 season's longer than he deserves, and Christian needs to stop coddling him and cut him loose. He's unquestionably behind the wheel of the best car on the grid, and has been for three years, yet he still keeps underperforming for the Team race after race. Red Bull fans deserve a lot better than what we're getting with the second car. Some drivers peak and then fall back sooner than others, and it's crystal clear that Perez is no Alonso !!

  • The people who say that Fernando did nothing wrong need to study the data in detail. He lifted off, braked and downshifted waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before the normal braking point, then went back on the throttle and even shifted up before braking again (lost over 0.3 s to George in a few moments, upsetting his braking/cornering massively). Look at Fernando's telemetry in laps 50 to 57. It was unsportsmanlike and potentially dangerous (and led to a crashed car sitting in the middle of the track). The penalty was 100% deserved. It was just as unacceptable as rapid weaving from side to side would be.

    • George was so scared he forgot to brake! 🙄 That's BS, George wanted to run thru corner faster than he could during the circumstances. He could brake, but he didn't, he made a mistake.

    • @@dzonibravo7867 The data proves Fernando drove in an erratic manner. Just like you cannot suddenly brake hard in the middle of a corner to confuse the guy behind.

    • @@jakubkrcma my point is that Alonso didn't brake chech George, because George didn't brake hard. And he didn't brake hard because there was a space! Russel was fully aware that Alonso was slowing down, he had the chance to react and to make decision and he did wrong. George even admitted his mistake after the race.

    • @@jakubkrcma Alonso has been racing at this track in F1 since his debut back in 2001. He knew when and where Russell would try to mount a run on him. He also knows where and how to defend. The telemetry shows he did something different on that lap. That is what all good drivers do when they are defending, keep their rival guessing. Russell himself said he didn't expect him to do that. Yeah, that was the point.

    • You have to be kidding me. He is one of the best drivers in the field! Put him in a Red Bull, give him time to learn the car and adapt it to his style, and I'm not quite sure Max would be on top at the end of a season. Now, based on skill, Carlos replacing Stroll is a no brainer, but obviously that isn't going to happen.

  • It is not a coincidence if Alonso is the oldest driver on the grid… This example could not be more accurate to demonstrate the expression : What separates mens from the boys…. Beside Russel crashing alone start to be a trend… The reality is Russel was carrying a lot of speed and was too greedy… Had he slowed down a bit when y he saw the car in front coming fast specially with the quality of the brakes that a F1 has….. Time to pay for professionals stewards and get rid of clowns like Herbert…
