  • The only thing I don’t like about Breaking Bad, is that you can only watch it for the first time, once. 😢

  • "I wonder if, due to the color grading, this is a dream?" Not a dream - a memory. Remember when Jesse described his second shop project? The box he constructed so lovingly...only to end up trading it for a bit of weed? Yeah.....that.

  • 37:04 - Did you notice how Walt waited until Jack began to talk, then shot him in the middle of his sentence - exactly the same way Jack shot Hank in the middle of his sentence. Poetic justice!

  • It's been a pleasure rewatching the show with you ! I loved your analysis, commentary on cinematography, camera work and sound. Chemistry is the science of change. This show is a modern Greek tragedy to me. Buffy, Breaking Bad and Better call Saul are my 3 favorite shows so very pleased with your selection 😊

  • When you talked about whether there were theories, that reminded me of a (crackpot) theory there was back then; A theory about this last episode being a dream, that Walter had right before he died in that car at the beginning of the episode; He's in the car, freezing, with the cops around him, it seemed over for him.. But he prayed, "let me get home", and from this point, EVERYTHING worked out perfectly; Cops didn't find him. Conveniently found the keys for the car. Managed to get home despite how the cops likely put a massive perimeter around the place. Managed to sneak by cops to see Skyler. Managed to get to Walter jr to see him one last time. Went to a restaurant, no one saw him. Lydia (pretended) went along with his plan, sending him to Jack as he wanted. He parked his car exactly at the right place (many things could've gone wrong, they could've decided to drive the car themselves, there could have been no way to park it right, etc.. even a small angle difference would mean no one dies). He managed to grab his keychain in time, like no one was watching him. They conveniently happened to ALL be in the house; No one doing a round, on 'guard duty', going to buy smokes or food or whatever, making a delivery, etc... They were all there. There was about a million things that could've gone wrong, and if ANY of them did, then Walt's plan fails. Either he gets arrested, killed, or he simply fails to kill any of them. But they all went perfectly right, some of them being nothing short of a miracle. So that led to some people theorizing that Walt actually died in that car and did nothing of that, and this episode was the dream, the perfect vision of how he wanted it to happen . So that's it, it's a bit of a tinfoil theory, but the idea grew so big, that reporters even asked Vince Gilligan about it during an interview! (But he rejected the idea)

  • I was wondering about the Lydia thing too, but if the information I found is correct, she's 100% dead; "There is no cure [...] Lydia would have had between 1-3 days before she died a painful death from low blood pressure and respiratory paralysis."

  • There are some theories about the name of this episode. Felina is the spanish word for feline, but it's also an anagram for finale. However the coolest theory I've seen is that it's also rearranging the letters of finale into symbols from the periodic table, as this show tends to do. Fe-Li-Na = Iron-Lithium-Sodium. Iron of course is a major component of blood, just as tears contain sodium in the form of salt, while lithium is used the the production of meth. Essentially the meaning of the episode title(if the theory is correct) is "blood, meth, & tears". Very fitting IMO. Ultimately, Walt is completely irredeemable for what he's done, but in a way that adds more meaning to what he does in this episode. He gave Skylar closure telling her that he did it for himself, he gave Marie closure revealing the location of Hank and Gomey's bodies, he found a way to secure Skylar, Holly and Flynn's financial future, and finally he dismantled the meth empire he built by killing Jack and his crew along with Lydia. And finally he gave Jesse back his life. None of these things equal redemption for Walt, but he still chose to spend his last day doing the right thing, which at least deserves some respect.

  • Sooo, El Camino and BCS next? El Camino is ok, BCS is amazing. Some people say it's better than BrBa. Well, certain stuff is done better, yeah (which is hard to believe haha), but overall - and this is my personal opinion - BrBa takes the edge. That being said, BCS IS STILL AMAZING. But the best thing is looking at both shows as one big masterpiece, no matter which show one prefers.

    • I think El camino first would be better cause BCS can spoil the end of el camino. I love all 3 but El camino the most cause i feel so hard for jesse and his life. he is as clever as Walt, Rough as gus, a trickster like saul and a firearm fighter like mike.

  • Well done Elie for knocking off another brilliant show with such rapidity and great content. Don't worry Better Caul Saul is off the charts just like BTVS with Angel, the writers were able to develop then characters so much more you will love it. Exactly the thought when Walter enters the palatial house of Eliot and Gretchen looking around wondering what could have been. The pathetic attempt of Eliot with the knife (definitely not Crocodile Dundee). Walt needs Eliot and Gretchen to launder his money for them, a clever plan. Walt making a point of using 'his money'. Great when he says 'I can trust you' and the laser beams appear on them. Of course it's part of Jesse's posse back again Badger and Skinny Pete with laser pens, a brilliant plan by Walter, well done Elie for thinking of them here, we always believe you! Bryan Cranston is brilliant here, and you can see why Vince Gilligan cast him after his brilliant performance in X-Files episode Drive. We get the Jesse dream sequence, and then Walt back in the Diner on his birthday with the bacon slices, and Hank again with the S1 episode in Walt's front room. The two we hate the most Todd and Lydia in the Diner, and Walt appearing, part of his great plan again. Of course they made it obvious with the Stevia going into Lydia's tea, Walt of course knew Lydia would double cross him again, Todd of course is a brain cell. Walt giving Sykler the lotto ticket with the GPS co-ordinates with the burial site of Hank and Steve, and admits to Skyler he actually liked doing what he did, and didn't do it for the family, and lets face it he was good at it. Walt of course is a scientist and mathematical genius, and knows if he positions the automatic gun just right and at the right time he can take them all out. Great satisfaction when Walt shoots the evil Jack through the head, after saving Jesse on the floor, great satisfaction too in Jesse strangling Todd. A superb scene with Jesse holding the gun to Walt, but of course he says do it yourself. Perhaps the greatest satisfaction is when Walter speaks to Lydia asking how she is is feeling, a really good revenge on her, and well deserved. Jessie driving away in manic laughter and crying and then Walt back again looking at the cooking equipment with the cops closing in and dying there and then. A brilliant final episode to a great show. Now Elie you know we have never put you wrong on show recommendations, you have seen the brilliance of Vince Gilligan, and I remember you saying on your Buffyverse reactions you had the X-Files on DVD, go watch it you will not regret it just like the Buffyverse and Breaking Bad it's just a matter of getting started. Well done again and look forward to your Better Call Saul reactions.

  • Better Call Saul is occasionaly phenomenal, although it is slower. If you follow that show it's because the producers and writers trust you to stick around for the story. Btw, the cinematography in BCS is just amazing. It takes a while and isn't as consistently good imo, but around Season 2 it gets as good as BB.

  • Sorry and congratulations for finishing this show. If you can believe it, the writers didn’t actually know when they wrote the flash forward at the beginning of the season how they were going to get there. At one point regretted writing it because they couldn’t figure out how Walt was going to end up on the run with a machine gun lol. I thought they had everything planned out in this show since all the pieces always fit together so perfectly, but they just write it as they go. The only season they planned the ending to is season 2.

  • As good as this episode is, I agree with you about the lingering camera shots in the diner. I mean, they didn't need to even show us Walt returning to his house again as in the first episode of this season. That did feel a little patronising tbh. Also, I don't know if you've already seen this, but the episode title Felina can be broken down into chemical elements Fe (Iron, found in blood), Li (Lithium, found in meth) and Na (Sodiu,m, found in tears) ie. Blood, Meth and Tears.
