While out asking random people to sing in NYC, I met Sydney! She walks up to sing, we get to talking before going into her song. That's when I notice the family Sydney walked up with are communicating through Sign Language! I was intrigued by the experience and after reaching out to the family I learned this...

That "deaf mom" is my niece, whom I love dearly!!! She and her husband Trevor, and her kiddo's have a special place in my heart xoxoxo
I'm a mom of a 19 yr old that also sings Billie Eilish covers. I'm also a musician and singer. Let me tell Sydneys mom, YOUR DAUGHTER IS AMAZING. She has SUCH a beautiful voice! Keep going Sydney!

Just went to look you singing
subscribed, you should upload more. you and your daughter have great voices
I just went to your channel and listened to you and your daughter you are both amazing singers
@theartistbonez1930 just saw this. That was so kind of you and made me smile. Yes, it's been awhile since I've uploaded after joining a band. Sincerely, ty. ❤️
Love what you have done in this video. Not "just another singer in the street" video (as great as they are), but using it to focus on deaf disability and a role music can play in their lives. Credit to you for using your platform so positively
I think that song that Sydney sang is really her ANTHEM. This was such a special video to watch. She's so young and has a beautiful voice. Keep singing Sydney!
She sang from her soul
Cried my way through this one! Sydney chose a perfect song for her voice and she sang it beautifully. Really love when people who have done very little public singing find the courage within to step up to the mic. What a sweet family story. My grandma was deaf and I worked in the deaf community in my early career, so I was especially moved by this whole video. Thank you all for the interview and additional context.
Me too! Why am I crying 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️!
Same! Beautiful story, song and family. But in the end it was her amazing voice that had me in tears. She sang like she wrote it. Keep singing!
Totally crying right now! So beautiful!!
This channel is good if you suffer from dry eyes.
I am deaf and my daughter is hearing and she has done choir in junior high and high school. I was SO proud of her! And your daughter is so amazing, beautiful and has a beautiful voice! Hope you can keep on singing, Sydney! Silence is golden to us, that we adapt, changed and used our other senses to make up for the hearing losses. Thank you for this wonderful video! *waving hands in air in applause*
Awe, that was wonderful. It's great that you were able to get the back story and 'chat' with them after Sydney's performance. Beautiful story and beautiful family!!
Thanks, my friend for highlighting Sydney and her family! I grew up with a father who was hearing impaired due to a condition called otosclerosis. He was able to “get by” with the hearing aids available at that time. A few years ago, I began losing my hearing at an alarming rate. This was during the pandemic and it took 2 years for the doctors to diagnose me with, you guessed it, otosclerosis. After surgery, I am joyful that I can hear Sydney sing! ❤️🌲🐿
❤
I hope you can continue to keep your hearing throughout the rest of your life!
Jeez Louise! That had to be panic inducing! So glad you have a happy result & think goodness for technological advances. Belt out a song once in awhile 😃
Thank God Almighty! It is AMAZING how much our medical industry has improved over the years.
How devastating! I can’t imagine how you felt. I’m SO happy your outcome was good! Thanks for sharing. - from a singer who developed vocal cord paresis
I'm crying 🥹 That was so special & so beautiful. Reggie what you do is truly unique. You connect us ALL ❤️
Wow this is an Amazing Story, how Sydney's parents can feel the Vibration in the Car Rides and while she Performes. Great Performance Sydney has such a beautiful and calming Voice 💯💯💯
Vibration is key, folks. Your own words from your belly and chest can carry vibrations. Dump trucks hold vibrations. Concertos hold vibrations. Actions carry vibrations. WE ALL carry vibrations. Bless this so very much. I wish i could ASL sign to you, "I love you, for you, and how you love others.". This. You were made for THIS.
🤟🏻 I love you.
Reggie you have a heart of gold, you spread love and happiness. Greetings from South Africa
This made me cry. I have a deaf cousin, and couldn't imagine how a silent life could be. I hope people who are candidates for the chochlea implants can get them, but they are so expensive.
I cried too bc Sydney's voice was beautiful.
This is a great insight to a community that does not get acknowledged often. The deaf culture is basically, silent amongst the larger culture. Thank you for this thoughtful video Reggie and team.
Sydney has a beautiful voice. That was very nice. 😊
You could hear the beauty and control, even though she was nervous, in her voice and pitch
What a phenomenal voice, and a really loving family. Thanks for doing what you do!
We can all feel the rhythm got me crying.
I applaud that young lady’s bravery to sing in public. I hope that she continues.
OMG! *I love this video, the family, their story, and her voice!!!*
I totally relate. I'm an old Deafish man with adult CODAs. I have a progressive hearing loss, so I have always loved music. Captions and easily accessible lyrics mean a lot to me. This video is awesome ... just like you.
I fell in love listening to Sydney sing. The selection matches her persona so much. She sounded very good. Very good tones in her voice.
Nice mini-documentary and very kind of you to sub-title it, so Sydney's mom can follow what's been going on.🙂
Sidney's voice is beautiful! I took sign language classes at our local school for the deaf. I was at intermediate level. We do offer sign language at our church for 1 of the 2 services. I love it. I hope Sidney keeps singing. She has such a lovely gift. Love her and her family. ❤
That was special. What an amazing family that exudes kindness. Sydney is a brave little gal who obviously has been raised by some amazing parents. Thanks to Sydney and her brother along with Mom who were eager to share their story.
She sounds absolutely beautiful. Reggie played this with such care. I worked in the deaf community for years. Signed song interpretation can be so gorgeous.
"Coda" is a remake of the 2014 French film "La Famille Bélier"
WoW! What a story & Life Lesson here. BEAUTIFUL ❤
How cool of you to be able to give that family that special memory together. 💜 Love from St. Louis
What attracted me most about your videos was that I could see right off the bat that you are a very observant, caring, passionate person who loves to converse with all types of people. I really wish I could be more like you. You are amazing! Keep it up! Much love!❤❤❤
She has a future in singing with a little more doing it out in front of an audience.
That was very touching to watch and Sydney is a great singer. They seem to be a very tight and loving family. 🥰
What a beautiful and sweet voice you have Sydney! Keep singing!
❤ such a beautiful young lady with so much talent an awesome beautiful family may God bless her and her whole family and for her to continue enjoying her life and doing what she does best she doesn't realize how many people she's helped buy brightening everyone's day and thank you Reggie sending lots of love your way we're still listening from Connecticut❤🙏🎶🎉💯❤
Beautiful cover🫶🏻 This song has gotten me out of clouded head space so many times since its come out. I listen to it at least 5 out of 7 days a week and cry, but end up feeling a sense of relief and peace of mind knowing that so many other people relate/ feel a strong connection to the meaning behind the lyrics. Keep singing girly! Again, BEAUTIFUL cover🥹
great video and Sydney has a beautiful voice! So good that you could interview them as a family after Sidney sang with you! I feel sad that her Mom can't hear her sing, but, her Mom's attitude about it all is a beautiful one! She doesn't sound sad, but, rather focuses on how proud she is of her children's and her father's musical accomplishments! Her Mom seems so beautiful inside!
My heart melted with joy when I saw her mother's smile that looked like the whole world is not enough for her 🥰❤❤ Thank you so much Reggie for such amazingly thoughtful video 😍
Sydney was great This post was beautiful thanks Reggie. You are so in tune with everyone and their needs. You are a really lovely kind considerate guy. The world needs more Reggies

WOW!!! Sydney, you did awesome and have a very beautiful voice. I hope someday you lose count of how many times you’ve performed in public because you do it sooooo much. Go for it girl!!! 💕 😊
Thank you dear parents who have such talent in their DNA, passed on to the next gen. Thank you Reggie and the lady who ushered the girl to the mike and us , virtually...😊
Beautifull history. Cheers from Poland for girl, her family and everybody.
Heartwarming video. Sydney you were wonderful ❤️ Reggie you are very talented. Thanks for sharing.
Such a beautiful, sweet voice and wonderful family! 💕
Her deaf mother, being there, seeing her beloved daughter stand before a crowd and share her fantastic musical talent and thought it was an amazing moment! Her daughter's talent brought back fond memories of her musical family. I know American Sign Language and I was touched when I saw this video. Jennifer San Francisco Bay area USA
This was so sweet! Sydney has such a warm, pleasant voice and we loved watching Melissa (Ben)and Trevor beam in support fortheir daughter/sister. So touching ❤ That pass- the -baton young man is a natural comedian btw! Funny!
That was so incredible--and that you followed up with her family. Sydney, you have a lovely voice, keep singing! And studying!
She has such a sweet voice. I enjoyed it.
OMG! That was just beautiful. So calm and sure of herself. Love it. Good luck my sister.
W0W! Miss Sydney sings like an Angel! Such a Beautiful vibrator. Thanx for sharing.
Sydney you have the sweetest voice thank you for singing. Reggie I love your videos ‘they make me feel good’! - especially when you don’t know the song, listen to a few bars & then play it. Thank you for sharing your talent & bringing happiness to the streets. Greetings from S Australia
People tend to forget that music is made of vibrations, and it's one of many things that connect us - Music transcends languages, and as you're learning now, even hearing abilities. Subwoofers, bass, etc. can often be popular amongst the deaf community - whether deaf or hoh, they can feel music as well as a hearing individual can. This is what makes the channel what it is. Stepping into new encounters with an open mind and seeing what comes out of it. Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about Deaf culture and for taking the time to share it with us. I hope you continue with such opportunities.
Aawe..this was a heartfelt one for sure 👏🏼🎶👏🏼🎶👏🏼
Amazing! ❤❤❤ She has the most soothing voice and gorgeous tone. The sky is the limit for her. If she gets the right vocal coach, she’ll be making records for us all to enjoy.
omg reggie I cried happy tears all the way through that video. sydney is very talented and slayed that song. my best to her family. amazing.
What a beautiful voice she has! That song resonated with her! Be happy! You are beautiful and blessed with a voice! ❤

This is so good so far!! I’ve been an ASL interpreter fo 20 years and I really appreciated this even more than all the other videos of yours I enjoy
Such a pretty voice - brought tears to my eyes ❤❤
What a special treat!!! I love this post-interview & watch reaction included with the original performance. I always love getting to know these people. That's what's special to me about all the people you meet, is learning where they come from and their connection with music and with people. I would absolutely LOVE to see more videos like this whenever they become possible!
Reggie is the best. I would love to walk down some random US sidewalk and see him doing his thing. What a sweet voice Melissa has. Well done little lady.
A lovely voice.
So touching. Lovely voice, Sydney! Thank you Reggie for these providing these opportunities that mean so much to so many. 💛 Hi from Vancouver, Canada!
Reggie this is one of your best videos it really goes to show that you are God's Angel and through music you bring out the best in people what a AWESOME Angel you are

You have chosen a path in life that leads you to some very talented and interesting people who open up and express themselves in ways they might not imagine doing but you have a way of making them comfortable a safe enough to give it a go thanks to you we are blessed with their gift of song .....keep sharing your passion for music ...Sydney sounded awesome!! looking forward to your next video Karl from eastern Canada
Beautiful voice you have, Sydney. Please keep singing!
Sydney that was a beautiful song. Loved your voice. It is a pity your mom doesn't get to 'hear' it as we do but she hears more deeply id say. And the fact she passed on music from her dad to her kids makes her happy. X god bless..lovely family.
Got me tearing up over here 🙏🏼
Don’t know the song but she did it right for sure
Oh, this is so really beautiful!!! She has such a beautiful voice!!! Blessing for the family!!!
She certainly has a sweet tone and angst to her voicemail/storytelling . I sense the song choice was rather personal.. bless her. A few more live performances and I’m certain she’ll be channeling her nerves into power and control😊🙏 So glad her whole family got to experience this moment AND on so many different and individual levels.
Such a beautiful voice and awesome family!
That's amazing. Love what you do, bro.
I honestly think that you 3 should write a song together and put it out on KZhead And watch it go Viral🙏🏻
Reggie I always enjoy your videos, but this one moved me to comment about few things that stood out on this one. I loved that this had a back story that you & your team really captured. Thank you for sharing their story so concisely & beautifully. I truly hopes Sydney keeps on singing. One day she should try out for AGT or the voice. You should turn these videos into a TV show. Anyone in TV land looking for a great show with a kind, uplifting vibe?
Every now and then, these bring a tear to my eye. I can't explain it, but these videos are beautiful.
Oh man, Sydney, THAt was sooooo lovely. 👏👏👏👏
GREAT piece Reggie. Taking the time to take it further speaks volumes on who you are! !! !!!
What you do is AMAZING Reggie , this is brilliant. Massive shoutout to everyone involved 😜✌️💜
He can play anything, it's amazing!
The mother seems to be visually impaired too. She can still see them signing. What a courageous person .
A special thank you to the lady with the colorful hat that gave this wonderful girl the courage to step up to the mic. Beautiful voice... Thank you for this experience!
It's strange how sometimes the dots join up in life. I'm looking forward to today's upcoming Six Nations Rugby match between Ireland and Italy in Dublin and the Cranberries song 'Zombie ' came into my head as it's been adopted as a match anthem by Irish supporters and I remembered a really good version that was performed on your channel by a lovely shy girl from Ireland, Nollaig O'Connor. Found it, enjoyed it again and then surfed your channel looking for other magical moments and came across this performance and it's backstory I'm nearing 67 years of age, retired, and just found out that I'm a Coda. I always knew it was a term associated with music but until today i never knew that it was a noun with that particular meaning. My folks are long gone but when I heard the backstory a lot of memories came flooding back and I cried. Keep up your great work Reginald. Thank you.
I have a deaf friend, Awesome guy. he's always with us on the festival's we visit. He says he enjoys feeling the music as much and maybe more as we enjoy listening to it. Bsides sign language he trained some incredible lip reading skills. Sometimes it's really like he can hear you.
Awesome she has a beautiful voice! Thank you so much Reggie❤
What an amazing story and beautiful family. No closed minds there. You are amazing and what you do is truly beautiful and sharing the gifts you have been given. Thank you 🙏.
Thank you all for a lovely video ,and insight into a beautiful family xxx
Meu inglês é limito e mesmo assim me sinto muito emocionado com esse vídeo. De longe esse é um dos canais que mais gosto no YT.
YES, Please keep singing Sydney. You are a natural born singer. You are inspiring!
