Spend months successfully riding an electric bike through Eastern Europe without a helmet. Then go back a year later to tempt the skull busting-vegetable-making-gods again without a helmet even after talking about bumps and rocks and parts of his bike falling off as he rides on every dangerous rode and downhill deathtraps. And because he cusses God Dammit every other sentence. No one wants this story to end bad but Nate just thinks he knows something those who have experienced life do not know. I mean, he will ride without a helmet but freaks out by drinking water because Diet Coke is so much safer. WTF

Hey Nate, super happy you made it to Romania. I want to help you, so here is a small guide for you to be able to enjoy our beautiful country. 1. Start with Buna ziua (Good day), finish with La revedere or Ceao (more informal). Saying also Multumesc (thank you) gets you a long way. 2. Romania will be a lot like Bulgaria from the point of view of electricity sockets. Rule of thumb, always ask if they have a socket ( Aveti prize de incarcat?). 3. DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT leave your bike unattended. 4. South of the country is different from Transylvania. You should zip through the south and maybe spend a day or two extra in Transylvania. It is worth. Sibiu, SIghisoara, Brasov, Viscri...must visits. 5. I don't know where you want to cross the Carpathian Mountains, but the Transfargarasan is breathtaking, and alternatively Transalpina is amazing too. The river at the border is called Danube, mountains you will cross Carpathian Mts, and if you go to Balea Lake you will climb on your bike to 2000m +. I'm regards to the shopping at the gas station. I could understand if it was in USA but this is Europe. Towns and cities are smaller, very frequent and usually on the main route. It's a consequence of long history and origins before car culture. So it shouldn't be difficult do grocery shopping in other places
