So in a way, it kind of does. Especially if it is in specific videos, like the dumb lip-sync videos of half naked 13 years old girls and young boys thinking they are "hot". Doesn't always ruin the song just makes people roll their eyes at it because they think "Oh, that's THAT Tik-Tok song." It's actually not well known, but twenty-one pilots is a Christian band, and many of their songs include God in asking for help from God, asking his fans to find God and more. This song is about Tyler (the writer and singer) asking God not to leave him behind even though sometimes he doubts, he's no good without him. Othe TØP songs with Christian meanings (om the top of my head) are polarize, The Judge, Screen, Heavydirtysoul, and hometown (This one is Tyler spreading the gospel to his fans), and that's just to name a few most of his songs are about mental health so a lot of them include God in different ways since he is a Christian. I don’t have depression or anxiety, but sometimes I think of happy memories that really make me sad because everything’s different, and then I just start praying. Talking to God really helps sometimes (for me).
This song actually helped me a lot when I was going through a lot mentally. It’s a beautiful song. I’ve heard it before but I heard it again later on into the years. God brought it to me at the right time.
I'll say this, I appreciate the fact that you attempt to relate as much as you can but depression can be truly crippling to a persons life. Unless a person has it people who don't can't ever imagine or know how it really feels. It's not just the feeling of "sad". It's way beyond being sad for a moment. It's a consistent feeling of everything is nothing and nobody's going to make it better you're just always down forever. I'm sorry I don't mean to rant, I guess I just get upset when people out there say oh I'm depressed over some stupid trivial shit when they don't know how hard it is to live with this disorder. It never goes away like normal people, the sadness I mean. It's hard to just "think happy thoughts" as people would say. I guess I could say you're lucky to not have been through the hell having it is..
