The flowerpots do not take up that many resources.
He just pulled that number out of his ass. Even if there was 10k of those pots, they are not rendered unless you see them.

its all loaded on the map load, it doesnt do much to remove them. not even 5 fps, you can use the map editor if you want to confirm
thats not how maps in cs work... you can null walls so you arent rendering the entire map at one time.. so the flower pots arent all being rendered at the same time.. @@un7ucky

Unfortunately not everybody has the money for a better pc. A big reason for the number of players was that you could run csgo on a potato.
not everybody can just upgrade 😅, especially when prices are so high plus the fps is just shit. my PC can play it but I no longer get more fps than my 240hz monitor which kind of annoys me cuz I don't have that smooth experience I did on csgo. csgo I got like 500 fps and now cs2 I get between 150 and 200.

@@kamolzaaliite I had the same issue. had 300fps in csgo and about 100 in CS2. My drop was higher because i am cpu bottlenecked pretty severly now. I have about 60fps in tarkov and about 80 warzone. The difference is cs is a competitive shooter, the other 2 examples aren't. I now bought a pc upgrade to play cs2 in the lowest settings. That is kinda crazy.

@@espendennis there no official hammer editor files for inferno, meaning there is no way to test the map with or without those specific props. The only way to try - is to decompile the map, which messes up optimization anyway, so no. He pulled the numbers out of his ass.

@@espendennisNo. If removing a couple pots gives you a 40-60 FPS boost, then you have a major CPU issue. Also, if you aren’t getting 100+ FPS minimum on CS in 2024, you’re highly due for an upgrade.

That's not how hard coding works, it just means its part of the code, not the console, its literally as easy as them changing 1 number and some configs, but there's low end hardware that just shits itself on 128 tick

The problema witn optimization is that community is comparing cs2 (2023) performance with csgo(2012) performance, when csgo is 11 years older. Its like comparing super mario bros (1985) performance with super mario 64 (1996) performance obviously the latest game will have worse performance in the same device than the oldest. If we want cs2 looks current and similar to other 2023 games we need to sacrifice performance. Community should compare cs2 performance with current games performance, like rainbow 6, elden ring, sea of thieves or the finals. The minimum ram the finals need, is 12 gb and the minimum ram cs2 need is 8 gb. The gpu the games above need are gtx 600, 700, 800, 900 or 1000, that have 2 gb of vram and cs2 need a gpu with at least 1 gb. And the cpu the games above need are i5 4000, 6000 or 7000 and in the minimum specs of cs2 you can see that you need an i5 750 or something like that. The only bad thing you can say about optimization is that cs2 could have a csgo-graphics mode.
if valorant can pull off feeling smooth at 70fps so can cs2 but in cs2 playing at 200fps feels like playing at 50, it's horrible and there's zero excuses for valve's incompetence
Thats bullshit, the graphics and physics in the game are so outdated and bad that any 10y old pc should run it at max capped fps in the game, I have games with 10x better graphics that run smoother
Cs2 has dogshit optimization. Sometimes it still feels like it's in the beta. All they did was reskin some stuff and add CRAPTON of unnecessary clutter and mechanics. Also rainbow 6 has some really great optimization. Any low budget gaming laptop can run it without problems and it has way less bugs than cs2. Devs could definitely improve code, but they seem to take the easy route or idk what else they might be doing. Probably talking about new skins.

i get 60-110 fps with my rtx 3060ti 16gb ddr4 1tb ssd 6 core 3.2ghz cpu.... and it's not the gpu issue i tried my gtx 1660ti and same issues just with now stuttering. Every other game I play is normal

I agree I have 3 friends that still have pc's that even can't launch CS2. Even if they manage to launch it rarely it is on 10 fps and half of the main menu doesn't load@@PythonCS
@@PythonCS well yeah, but look at the past when csgo first released some people couldn't run it. cs2 is just repeating the same history but to a lesser degree. Besides the old source engine was already being pushed to its limits and showing its age, can't play with the same PC from 2013 forever y'know. Although cs2 had quite a rocky start it's for the best for longevity of cs. In who knows how many years the complaints of a new cs game will always be the performance.

It was the same way in CS: Source when the new de_inferno was updated to the Source engine. All the physics and moveable objects dropped older PC's frames. Now, you can run CS:S on your phone. It sucks for people with older PC's, but this is the nature of graphics. I remember having to download FPS configs that stripped the world down until I upgraded. @@PythonCS
I run 120 fps in CS2 on a 900$ laptop, they don't need to optimize maps, they need to optimize the server.
why map rotation again for every few years, why not just put all the maps of counter strike all at once so we wouldnt get mirage like you said but also its not going to get boring since there is a couple more maps in game

4th problem: reload time : they made the reload time longer , the animation in the last the gun will go back in the hand but it takes more time and also even more time to shoot after reloading

I don’t think so pots are taking fps, as far as they are only assets for gpu, it MAY give some frames, but mostly fps depends on computing things and finding balance between good quality and good fps

Going to 128 tick would double the resource usage, double network costs, all for a slightly better feeling game, so they made an in between stopgap (subticks), so players can (theoretically) get better hit reg, while saving on network costs

subtick is cheaper than 128 tick and also more friendly towards low end hardware. last was the reason for 64 tick in csgo, at least thats what valve said about it.

I’ve wondered if 11 maps would work on premier so you could add Dust II, Cache, Train and Old Cobblestone. Eliminate maps like 3-4-2-1 They wouldn’t have to put that many maps to tournaments but the same maps get tired especially when those four should without a doubt be amongst those 7

Subtick isnt even really functioning completely right now and the parts that are work exactly as intended just 128 tick made it feel like you got away with more
The 3 problems that valve really needs to fix is: 1. Gameplay, including some guns and fps. 2. 64 subtick to 128 tick. 3. VACban
1) How did you test the the de-cluttering FPS improvements when inferno has no hammer editor files and the only way to test is decompiling which ruins the baked in optimisation to start with 2) good news, cache remake is well underway and will likely be coming in the next operation 3) subtick was a bit ropey on launch but seems a lot better after the last major patch with a bonus of removing the horrible effect of getting “CSGO’d” when the tick rate causes a shot to no-reg. 4) no mention of anti-cheat which is by a large margin the biggest problem facing the community
They need to fix the display port bug when using two monitors it’s the only game that thinks your using a different monitor than your main one and it makes no sense
The flowerpots don't take that many resources. As long as they all use the same model, it's just loaded into the graphics cards memory once and reused whenever you see one. The engine overall seems to be not enough optimized.

@@PythonCS I just think the details are not really the biggest problem. With how CS2 looks on the lowest settings it should run on higher FPS so I think there is a lot of room for engine optimization which valve has not used yet.

That's sadly not how optimization for video games works :/ Most of the props aren't shown at all time, so neither your cpu or gpu are rendering them. It would be slightly easier on your ram, but cs2 I think has the least problems with ram but the gpu and cpu, depending on the resolution you play at. There's also something called viewport culling which automatically makes unnecessary things "disappear" if not seen by the player. CS2 isn't that bad when it comes to optimization, it's just that a lot of people feel that way because they haven't upgraded their hardware in a while. While it's sad that performance has gone down, you really can't expect to play a 2023 game on 2008 hardware :/

@@PythonCS well now that's the question Of course you can make it better, it's just a tradeoff between quality and performance Counterstrike is made to last years on end without significant changes in graphics, and most of the performance draw comes from shaders and post processing effects. Now really, you could make it run a little smoother by shaving off a few polygons off of every model and tune down the post processing, but then, would it really be a game that would hold up its standards in 2028? Probably not And cs2 is not really harder to run than cs go was at launch Of course you need newer hardware, but you also needed newer hardware when upgrading to GO So the point is CS2 is optimized reasonably well and it shows that it's a game made in 2023/2024 At some point it's not the game's fault, it's the player's fault
@philipkriegel so true, cs 2 new VIS is a beast compared to cs go. Can't expect cs 2 to run good on old hardware with 2023 pbr graphics. That's why they even made a requirement to have rtx card if you want to create quality maps for it.

I have no idea how this stuff works, but what I do know as a player is that the tick system is SHIT. I've "missed" AWP shots where I know I had my crosshair on the guy, while I was standing still. I then every time have to watch the replay and pause at the moment of firing to confirm that I'm not bad but the game is trash. Valve fix that and add a proper Anti-Cheat as well

2017-18 was the greatest and worst at the same time. So many different unique and awesome maps to choose from. Downside was queue times were crazy because the player base was so divided from the options. Panorama cut all the maps out and I thought we were gonna get frequent community map rotations but nah.
When I queue premier I almost never get mirage. It is always inferno. If my team bans inferno first, then it’s a toss up between nuke or overpass. Let’s get train, cache, and cobble back please

there's classic counter, a community made mod for csgo. they use 2016 client and 2013-2015 textures, maps, models and sounds and people playing it

Cs2 is still really easy to run compared to most pc games. 3kliksphillip did a video on it and you would basically need to be using something worse than a gt1030 to be forced to upgrade . You can run this game on mid range hardware from 8 years ago. I think it’s time to upgrade if you can’t.
