I’ve got a ryzen 7 3700 and 2060 RTX, I get like 300 frames and never crash… in Fact the reason I like cs2 so much is how well optimized it is and how good it runs
Valve forgot a few things in CS2 like anticheat for example

Valve didn't just "forget" to optimize the game, that's not how optimization works. Optimization must be considered and implemented at every stage in game development from the code to map design and is a continuous process. The game has been relentlessly optimized in its development, you can see a game's level of optimization by how well it can run on low budget PCs, and CS2 has actually done pretty respectably in this aspect. Random crashes like this are not to blame on optimization, but rather errors in the engine or driver, corrupted files, etc... Lack of optimization itself does not cause crashes.

I especially hate when people say ohh the optimisation of cs2 is so bad why cant I have the exect same fps as I had in csgo... Like brother csgo is released 10 years ago and looks like shit. Cs2 runs great on lower end computers while having more realistic machanics and a way better look. Obv it deosnt run great on a 10 year old machine but it still runs pretty good on ~5 year old machines that where budget when build @@rustez14
I agree with you, i play on laptop with a graphic processor ryzen 5 3500u with vega 8 graphics and my cs runs at 40 fps. It's shit i know but i don't care. If i can play inm happy lol. Those who are less happy are my teammate 💀
how much fps you're getting doesn't matter if your frametimes/1% lows are horrible, the game isn't that optimized.

mostly its cpu game problem not gpu since beta, my game keep crash until I add option launch: -threads 3 -dx11 (your Cores=Threads+1) CS 2 didnt use all threads (example: 7/8 threads)

The other day my game crashed 4 times in a single match of premier on nuke. I got screen freeze, black screen, game turning off on its own and screen freeze to the point I couldn't alt+tab and had to windows+tab and end task on another desktop. This never happened to me in csgo and I had over 2k hours.
I'm convinced this is more about what pros tweaked with their pc and game because I let my game run as it is and experience zero crash
this was a problem on nvidia's side and it was a driver related issue
i also experienced this while not even in a game,i was just changing my resolution and the screen went blank

Biggest problem is cheating lack is pretty damn rare unless the servers are messed up
Me and some Friends also had a couple crashes and other Friends had no crashes, BUT the only Thing we (with the crashes) have in Common is the RTX 40s Series. So the Crashes may only occur on newer Setups Just a wild guess
i dont know about the otheres, but jame's PC crashed because of a nvidia driver problems of the rtx 4080 super. I guess the next PCs will run AMD Cards.

once i was kicked out of game on last round when i was guarding bomb from tt, and that mf game said "you have been kicked for dealing too much damage to allies" but it was casual💀
They made an active decision to not bother, or it would have been fixed by now.
700 ish Hours CS2 from release, not a single crash. Computers should be tested properly and you should have a cloned PC for PRO league for backup if this things happen.

Jesus Christ how does cs2 not have a pause feature as in dota 2? Ofc I know there are timeouts, but those are only a small timed pause at the start of a round while in dota 2 you can pause the game instantly if someone has disconnected

And I thought the biggest problem in CS2 is the lack of 50% of content from CS:GO (maps, gamemodes, features like deathcam and shields)
i mean I ain't even lagging in cs2 its just Cs2 forgot how to multi-thread So cpu with more cores not being used properly that's why it crash in the pro scene this is normal for a new engine that is over 1 year old
Of course they didn't forget. The crash is very hard to reproduce. These things happen, not entirely sure what test process you're suggesting they needed to do to avoid this crash.

This definitely not the worst or biggest problem they have atm. The game is dieing, since they cant fix the immense problem with cheaters, and this problem gives more problems like cs influencers quitting till they fixed it

I have probably upwards of 4-500 hours in cs2 i can count the number of times on one hand i have literally only crashed 3 times they need to fix the anti cheat and they need to reset ranks tired of playing w boosted accounts who shouldn’t be in 15-20k elo who dont know left from right click

Ah, another biggest problem of counter strike. Yeah of course it are the crashes that are caused by missing optimization that doesn't influence my performance at all. And my pc isn't the best by any means. How optimised a game is doesn't necessarily correlate with crashes. I've played horribly optimised games before, and these didn't chrash.

It's not valves foult, it's that now you need an actual pc to run the game and that's apparently too much to ask from tounrament organizators (yes PGL, I mean you guys)
They should add a setting to toggle on old lighting and graphics of csgo. Like the features would be still the same but the game just looks like old csgo
Side Note: I went from AVG 95 fps in csgo to AVG 45 fps in cs2
Thats not how games work, and if anything would make performance even worse since it has to render 2 versions of the map at the same time. It would also give unfair advantages on some maps since props and geometry is different. Its also a different engine, so the lighting difference is implemented on engine level and not a map level.

Seems like an nvidia issue? I have amd gpu and i got no crashes or other problems at all. Feels smooth. And i dont have high end pc like the pros.

Well cago crashed way more than cs2 do. Csgo crashed just by changing some options, especially video options. Loading maps wtc
people complaining about the crashes and performance never touched any other game. CS2 has much problems with cheaters, missing commands, subtick and and and, but the performance and crashes are non of this. How often do you crash maybe you crash once in 100 - 200 Games, thats all and thats normal for a engine swap. You ever played Scum, DayZ, Ark, City Skilines2 or some other UE4 - 5 Games then you know whats performance issues and crashes when your game crashes every 1 - 2 hours and they dont fix this shit for years and your fps dropping below 40 in low settings with a 4080 :D

Either they should using 7900x3d rather than 7800x3d The CS2 is CPU heavy, so putting an 8 core is not a good idea
You clearly don't have a clue, even 6 cores is more than plenty for cs2. What you need is a high single core frequency.

ive only crashed once but still need some more fps when smokes are being spammed at the begging of the rounds
i dont really think that its valves problem most of the times.... the pcs that they use are trash on the events.... even if they have good hardware you need to make some changes to some of the settings...
