Roger Stone was integral to getting trump on the ballot the first time. And Steve Bannon used his platform to stir the pot of hate and get trump a following. It took them a few years after trump decided to run, because he'd barely voted before announcing his desire to run. In my opinion, he saw a way to make money off of the presidency, and he needed it after the real estate market tanked, and his massive casino losses. Then, when he amassed a following, it went straight to his head. He loved it. I have no doubt whatsoever that if he were to be elected in spite of his crimes, he wouldn't leave office, and we'd no longer have a democracy. Russia would trample Ukraine and keep going through Europe.

That's a fair question, but if he makes it to win the 2024 election , it will only be because he wasn't found guilty of insurrection yet. The other question is , trump will free them all probably the first week. If he is found guilty, the second week, they will arrest him right there. But the rioters would likely end up in a higher court , because he was sitting POTUS at the time.

There is a great book by Jonathon Metzl called “Dying of Whiteness” that explains some of it at voter level…people voting against their own interest is basically a fear/bigotry based attitude. In combination with brain structure (there is an increasing amount of research that confirms the influence of the size of the amygdala/anterior cingulate gyrus that oredicts to a fairly accurate degree if someone will vote conservative or progressive. It’s fascinating, though nature vs nurture cause of respective brain structure needs to be factored into the results.

There's too little one on one,personal communication and the care and concern for our fellow humans has suffered greatly because of it. The important thing to remember is this: when a single part of our society is singled out for discrimination and mistreatment, it's done by someone who will treat everyone in that manner- sooner or later. If someone will lie,steal, or mistreat one person,they will do the same to any and every person in due time. Domestic policies can always be modified if there's discussion and compromise. The question that is not often being asked of Trump’s voters is whether they’d still vote for Trump because they don’t believe the charges or because they don’t care if the charges were true (ie that he had engaged in an insurrection, or any other of the charges). The answer to this question is telling of the level of Dunning Kruger as opposed to cognitive dissonance (and bigotry) that exists in that populous.

As a democracy governed nation of people we have enjoyed the freedom to voice our opinion about the news & politics of the day with out conseqence for decades. We should be grateful that the environment of the nations past has mostly courteous & respectful. When people lived farther apart in the rural areas, we depended on our neighbors to assist us in reciprocal relationships. Today, if there is disagreement, it frequently turns to bullying & even physical retribution. There is suspicion now instead of friendship. This change didn't happen over night. The verocity & fact checking once a common decency WENT descending into the Murkiness, ALONG with that escalator going down, down, down in 2015. As a nation we still CAN choose the path back to civility, despite the bullies & snake oil peddlers. When we Stand by & let the bullies run the show we become THE BULLIED by juxtaposition! Good people we CAN, stand up for what is right! SAY NO, say "leave them alone" to the ones who would do anyone especially our officials harm for maintaining our rules & laws. The more they understand we want & will stand for our freedoms AND civil good behavior, the more likely the bullies will go after something easier to obtain. By their nature bullies are cowards only picking easy targets. If we stand up for each other perhaps we'll get back to a more CIVIL society. Maybe we'll even get back to understanding why this nation worked so well while we were working for goals important to us all not just THE few.

I agree, but having lived in both rural and urban areas, I'm not sure if I get one little part of what you meant - but just to be clear, most people in little towns are absolutely not less likely to bully and attack, they are more likely to do so and it does not feel safe to let it be known that I do not approve of their Dictator loving ways. They are very intolerant of people unlike them, they like it that way. They are often horrible neighbors because they have never grown up and learned how to live and let live, to be tolerant of different religions, races, and lifestyles. I cannot wait to go back to the city bc they know how to just not give a crap what others do as long as it doesn't ACTUALLY affect them. And unlike the small town people, they understand that someone else's existence near them does not affect them. It's the small town mindset that others having the same rights but making different choices somehow violates the townies' lives. It doesn't.

Roger Stone was integral to getting trump on the ballot the first time. And Steve Bannon used his platform to stir the pot of hate and get trump a following. It took them a few years after trump decided to run, because he'd barely voted before announcing his desire to run. In my opinion, he saw a way to make money off of the presidency, and he needed it after the real estate market tanked, and his massive casino losses. Then, when he amassed a following, it went straight to his head. He loved it. That's a fair question, but if he makes it to win the 2024 election , it will only be because he wasn't found guilty of insurrection yet. The other question is , trump will free them all probably the first week. If he is found guilty, the second week, they will arrest him right there. But the rioters would likely end up in a higher court , because he was sitting POTUS at the time.

In combination with brain structure (there is an increasing amount of research that confirms the influence of the size of the amygdala/anterior cingulate gyrus that oredicts to a fairly accurate degree if someone will vote conservative or progressive. It’s fascinating, though nature vs nurture cause of respective brain structure needs to be factored into the results.

The question that is not often being asked of Trump’s voters is whether they’d still vote for Trump because they don’t believe the charges or because they don’t care if the charges were true (ie that he had engaged in an insurrection, or any other of the charges). The answer to this question is telling of the level of Dunning Kruger as opposed to cognitive dissonance (and bigotry) that exists in that populous.

As a democracy governed nation of people we have enjoyed the freedom to voice our opinion about the news & politics of the day with out conseqence for decades. We should be grateful that the environment of the nations past has mostly courteous & respectful. When people lived farther apart in the rural areas, we depended on our neighbors to assist us in reciprocal relationships. Today, if there is disagreement, it frequently turns to bullying & even physical retribution. There is suspicion now instead of friendship. This change didn't happen over night. The verocity & fact checking once a common decency WENT descending into the Murkiness, ALONG with that escalator going down, down, down in 2015. As a nation we still CAN choose the path back to civility, despite the bullies & snake oil peddlers. When we Stand by & let the bullies run the show we become THE BULLIED by juxtaposition! Good people we CAN, stand up for what is right! SAY NO, say "leave them alone" to the ones who would do anyone especially our officials harm for maintaining our rules & laws. I agree, but having lived in both rural and urban areas, I'm not sure if I get one little part of what you meant - but just to be clear, most people in little towns are absolutely not less likely to bully and attack, they are more likely to do so and it does not feel safe to let it be known that I do not approve of their Dictator loving ways. They are very intolerant of people unlike them, they like it that way. They are often horrible neighbors because they have never grown up and learned how to live and let live, to be tolerant of different religions, races, and lifestyles. And unlike the small town people, they understand that someone else's existence near them does not affect them.
