  • Amazingly beautiful, the relationship between the father and son is a stressful one. The father is most likely trying to live vicariously through his son, forcing him to try for a professional spot when all the son wants to do is enjoy the ride. The anxiety is real, even I felt it in that moment before he ran away. And I like the ending, where the son breaks free and zooms off with the wind in his hair. The father needs to realize he cannot make his son do what he doesn’t want to.

  • Who else thinks the helmet is a symbol for his father having control over him? He has it on almost all the time, except at the end when he's on his own, and he broke free from his job. Even at 1:52, he sees his friend riding freely, who is without a helmet, and envies him. Those are my thoughts

    • I noticed that too, and it's my one gripe with this video. The helmet is what's keeping you somewhat safe while on the road, that friend of his isn't doing a particularly smart 'free' thing there.

  • I read an article on, "Narcissistic Parenting." Essentially living your own aspirations and dreams through the life of your children. Making them succeed where you failed. Obviously doesn't create the best relationship. This film really exemplified the effect it can have on a kid.

  • So much TENSION, between the character, so many different EMOTION, and BEAUTIFUL designs... One of my favourite short from the 2018 promo. I love the ending, the vibes, 💥Booooom Gobelins, you made it again. This one should not be missed 🏍

Bref, visuellement excellent.

  • Yes! So relatable! Sometimes you just wanna do something you’re good at because you like it but when your parent control it and shape it the way they want, it’s becomes pressure-filled and no longer yours. Even if it’s scary to defy your parents, it’s what’s best for your you.

;) Bravo.

  • The son is gay but the father didn't know that, or at least tried to ignore or not to believe in that. He was always showing and "training" the son to be like him, straight. The son kept hiding the truth from his father telling him he was "going out" with his friend. But at the end the son revealed that he wasn't like his father. Then the father realised that it was true and he couldn't change that in his son.
