For the Swiss, this was the crescendo, defining moment of the campaign to date. After the razzmatazz of the reveal, the coming-together at the boat launch on Tuesday and the first tow testing and sail fitting on Wednesday, Friday 19th was the designated day to go flying - and what a moment. Arnaud Psarofaghis described it beautifully saying: “We had a few system checks before we actually could do the proper sailing for the first time we say ‘Okay let's try and see if we can build speed’ - it came actually pretty quick, and we just saw the boat speed coming up and we say with Bryan (Mettraux) just give it a go and sheet on and the boat came out, so it was really impressive and I think we can learn even more to make it happen earlier, but today was a fantastic day... the first feeling was above expectation to be honest and we're looking forward to the next sailing days.”

Really interesting look/design. Some dialing required. Looking forward to seeing her when everything has settled.
Exciting times for all the teams :)
5:37 amazing
Game on!!!! 🎉
Really?
Early days yet, but you if watch this 1st sailing vs the Kiwis side by side. The Kiwis are well ahead, both had similar wind.
As a Swiss it's hard for me to write: I must agree 🥲
its a nice boat👌
Weird that's the case when you write the rules for control systems
@@nicomusiani2091 Yes. all teams that win the americas cup get to choose what type of event will take place. just like they took it off Team USA. weird Nz gave them a boat to start with tho😍. all the best to all teams🫡
@nicomusiani2091 Everyone has the same rules.
Bring it on.
Looks very unstable and also quite slow. But, early days of course and plenty of development time ahead.
Looking good for a first sail, I have to say though that the kiwis are looking like the are a long way ahead of the challengers at this early stage. I thought the Italian boat was not too impressive during their first sail. Still it's early days but it is so interesting with all these new boat being launched right now. I can't wait to see the next three challengers in the water.
I dont know why the challengers bother...nice backhanded compliment though...
you're lying to yourself if you think you can tell how the teams are doing right now. basically no one has their race foils which is the single most impactful design factor. also currently the kiwis have been sailing in flat water with good wind, the polar opposite of what we can see in this clip with light wind and a swell. of course they are going to look better.
@@rydenkaye9735 No please dont question him. He knows everything about the designs etc...
@@rydenkaye9735light winds yesterday and she flew.
@@rydenkaye9735I agree completely team New Zealand have the advantage of being the holders of the cup. And that's probably the only advantage they have and they will be taking every challenge seriously no one has the upper hand yet
Looks like a beast to me. Double headed dragon. Hope it’s not too fast
Yuh got a lot to go before race time guys
Looking good Alinghi....Well done!
I hope that was sarcasm 😅 Their boat was never traveling well. At one point, I thought it was going to take off. Early days for sure, but didn't look good.
Boat looks like it was designed by Batman. I hope it lives up to the hype!
Lol
Black beast
That looks awefully unstable
Go kiwis you got this
Lots of bad comments on this boat, shame none of them actually know what they are talking about. Boat looks great
Seems sluggish but early days
kiwi's are the team to beat. again. ;-)
Not exactly a beauty but that's a radical looking hull.
Looks very unstable. Compared to Taihoro it's all over the place.
…not as agile and smooth as the kiwis…
sta barca si piega troppo, rischia la scuffiata ed è sbilanciata in volo
Anche l'equipaggio poi ha molto lavoro da fare, non navigano bene come han già mostrato i kiwis e Luna rossa
These guys never really looked comfortable in the boat they bought off ETNZ. And they don’t look comfortable now.
But we will look great holding the cup😊
@@theryschir5558won’t even get to the finals.

Not so good...
Ooooh all the smack talk from those experts. On the shore. At home. At their desk. On their pc... The best mates are on the shore and peer through their fists; they still know, they already knew! They’re silly in their wisdom, but stir no fin nor fist
Major design fault, you're way behind boys
What is the design fault.
you're so smart you keep it all to yourself
As a kiwi I have no love for Alinghi, but I’m not seeing any design fault. I’d love to, but it seems a reasonable design.
I don’t think it’s a design fault as such, just the path they’ve chosen is the wrong one. Much like the British last time around.
All these people saying design faults with out pointing them out, like are any of you boat builders? Chill its just day 1 SMH 🤣🤦🏾♂
It looks like they have copied the Kiwis Te Rehutai in some parts, too bad The Kiwis will roll them again.!!!
