We all know the actual rarest thing in Minecraft is playing a server for more than 2 weeks
Lol
Someone played hardcore for 5 years and lost it🙁
@@starmall0292 a server with multiple people and not just a single player world
Someone has played the same one for 3 years lol
I play in my friends server a lot, sometimes I don’t play for a bit but I go into phases where I play for a month or two and then slow down and just play occasionally
The turtle dropping bowl has a reason. In the Middle Ages, their shells were used as bowls, but they first had to be heated sharply so that they would hold better and not crumble. Thats why🤷
that's actually a really cool detail added by mojang !
But its Wood so it a bit weird that turtle's shells are wood
That's smart👍
Oh that's actually very interesting. Thx for sharing
🤡
Massive respect to this guy for taking the time to reroll seeds until he got 2 in a row, thats some real dedication right there
only took me 17 quintillion resets, guess i'm lucky
@@notPenney bruh a googolplex will take me that long
And a googolplex is…. MORE THAN GOGOL! So if you put two universes than it will maybe fit

The odds of randomly generating the same seed twice isn't actually as unlikely as specified. The random number generator that Minecraft uses to randomly generate seeds doesn't have access to the entire seed space.
In a row
What about pseudorandomness of the generator? If a number doesn't repeat for a long time, then the situation shown in the video will never happen. But I would have to know how Java generates this randomness. I doubt they would care about repeating numbers more than preserving uniform distribution.
Facts.
It’s also less because he took the probability to pick a certain seed and generate it twice in a row, rather than generating a non-specific seed twice in a row
isnt it -9.223 quintillion to 9.223 quintillion for the possible seed?
I'm gonna go out on a ledge and say the bowl number is very far off. I Don't think lightning can strike outside of what you have rendered, therefore the chances of getting the bowl is much more likely.
Then it would be dependent on chunk simulation making it vary
Well the distance of chunk simulation
Yeah some of the assumptions seem questionable here
Especially considering compounding the beach and likelihood of block strike probabilities makes no sense - they're independent anyway
Also, the lightning doesn't have to strike the exact block a mob is on. It just needs to be within range.
Turtle/tortoise shells are traditionally used as a natural bowl btw :) it's not as weird as it seems lol.
But why only after dying to a lighting strike? Thats the weird part
Everything in this video is still more likely than one of Dream's speedruns.
found a vein of 16 diamonds earlier today in my world in over 10 years of playing this game I was honestly awe struck got a screenshot of cords and the world seed
What seed is it?
I found this twice now.. oh and they were both all deepslate.. oh yeah and I found 2 pink sheep this week… yeah idk feeling kinda lucky ngl
@@pstm53now make a jungle slave.
@@pstm53 yeah and I found a netherite castle full of baby zombie villager jockeys and pink sheep in vanilla minecraft and then went to the nether and got 30 wither skulls in a row and suddenly a stack of nether stars dropped from the sky in front of me and then i threw an egg and out of it came 400 baby chickens! yeah idk feeling kinda lucky ngl
@@pstm53 I think stone diamonds are more rare than deepslate ones now
Thank you for the mention of my video in the description. I hope more people learn of the crazy hidden things in the game.
Yeah, of course! Thank you for making great content. This video wouldn't have been possible without you.
@@notPenney bro are u alive ?? btw why u are not uploading
Even rarer chicken concept: Fill the entire overworld, nether, and end with chests, each filled with shulker boxes each shulker box is filled with eggs. Open up every single shulker box across the 3 dimensions, and throw the eggs. Every single egg your throw spawns 4 chickens. Probability is 1 in *10^(3.4093 x 10^18)* Take a moment to try and understand how large that number actually is.
Bro you should read my comment 😂
How many 0’s is that?

Duh, you’re pushing it now. Those odds are like saying i’ll sleep with Beyoncé. Clearly impossible, those odds were so ridiculously ridiculous, they should have never even been mouthed into existence
no fill every dimension with chests and then fill those with shulker boxes full of eggs

The turtle dropping a bowl is genius because the bowl represents the fried turtle shell
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 🤯
OHHHHH WAIT SHOOT YOUR RIGHT
The diamond one is mistaken. Chunks cover all the distance from the bottom of the world to the top, so it’s not the corner of 8 chunks, but rather, only 4.
you exposed him for faking the 64 diamond chunk
I think he might have been talking about subchunks? I believe that’s the name, if I recall correctly it’s a 16x16x16 cube.
It’s 8 per chunk (from the wiki) - so he did fake it, which makes the rest…
diamonds can spawn in 16x16x16 cubes, ive had multiple veins in the same 16x16 chunk when mining out a whole chunk in the past
Yeah seriously. I was like: WTF is he talking about? A chunk goes from bedrock to the top of the world. But if the ores can spawn in SUBCHUNKS, than it is a completly different story.
but if you count in the fact that all of these occurrences can be stacked upon each other you can have infinitely rare things like, generating a seed, finding the zombie riding a chicken, throw an egg and have it spawn 4 chickens, and then loading the new seed and it be the exact same and doing the same things infinitely. Or even having spawn the zombie riding a chicken twice
The probability of that is infinite
Also, the seed one can’t happen because Minecraft bases the seed off your computer time value, so it’s not just infinitely rare, it’s impossible by its very nature.
minecraft uses computers time value (as well as other dynamic values) as part of the equation determining the final seed, there can be different times generating the same seed :)
@@sbuuby how?
@@FewVidsJustComments almost every programming language uses the local clock for random numbers, that doesn't mean there can't be the same number twice, those two facts have nothing to do with each other
Let's assume this is true. Because there are only a finite number of seeds, it means that there exist two points in time that necessarily map to the exact same seed given the same values for the rest of the RNG. We stipulate that our two worlds have to be done at these two times and we're good 😊
I'm no sure where you get 1/80m for lightening striking a given block. The max rendered chunks is 96, so that's a surface area of just 24,576 blocks lightening can strike
3:29 the 1/80m factor here is inaccurate. this assumes there is only one block in a given world with a turtle on it. it should be adjusted to x/80m where x is the number of blocks with tuetle hitboxes above them. moreover, it appears that bowls do not always drop this way as seen in your initial demonstration suggesting you are missing a factor. same seed twice is also impossible (in anything but the most tightly controlled circumstances) because the generation for a random seed is based on your computer's clock and is based on an injective function.
the 80m is even more off considering that lightning will only strike within your render/simulation distance
@@aterryea that’s what I was thinking
If someone just told me all those things i'd answer "ahh ok, and?" But when you are talking about it it sounds so interesting. Great job!
for the diamond one, 8 chunks don’t form a corner in minecraft. chunks extend infinitely vertically so only 4 chunks can make a corner
Bro that was one of the best videos I’ve watched in a while love the content
ur gonna blow up on yt so quick with content like this
2:53 the reason it's a bowl is because it's supposed to be a fried turtle shell.
The fact that the rarest thing in Minecraft is a Baby Zombie Villager riding a Chicken (Chicken Jockey) who was the jungle variant and was the Armorer job, who had all trades unlocked with VERY SPECIFIC armor, enchantments, and cost, and when it turns back into a zombie it can have powers stronger than Notch himself, also with its OWN armor it used to trade, WITH a Jack-O-Lantern head from the Halloween event, while also holding a sword of types, is just crazy, insane, UHFATHOMABLE
Wow! Incredibly interesting video! Thanks for making this! One of the reasons I continue to love Minecraft. Stuff like this is just so cool!
I'm impressed you were lucky enough to have one spawn in so you could show it to us.
You're very underrated bro. Hope this blows up!
Underrated creator. Great video man
There is a 1 in 256 chance that an egg spawns 4 baby chickens. Imagine the eggs one with this probability.
I love this video lol, it actually kept me hooked till the mom joke 😂
Nice vid you deserve way more subs
This deserves more views
I have found pink sheep, a 12 diamond vein, bowls, a baby zombie villager with diamond armor (riding a chicken, baby, no enchantments, weapons, pumpkins.), jungle edge biomes, and some other fairly rare things like 3 emeralds. I didn't realize they were all rare. I feel so disappointed now.
B ROO ur lying
The odds of spawning in a world 3 TIMES is just too much
And the worst thing is that if it happened to you, you would either: 1) Not realize it. 2) Not care, because you wanted a different map. 3) Just be frustrated and think, it would be some kind of glitch, where after you would restart the game.
I randomly spawned in two sparse jungles in a row in two seperate worlds, both having jungle temples next to them.
nothing too rare, except if literally everything is the same (same seed), which is just so rare, its essentially impossible for anyone to get
3:15 bro got his math degree from a mcdonald's parking lot 💀
Yooo i had a completed end portal on my Xbox 360 in 2013-2014, i was so confused but i was young and didn’t consider the fact how rare that was at that time. That’s a wild probabilities..
massive props to this dude for rerolling seeds one googol times until he got the rarest thing in minecraft +1 sub
Eggs irl actually have a rare chance of having more than one yolk, and can hatch more than one chicken. Its rare to have 2 yolks and even rarer to have 3 or 4 but it is possible
I found an egg like that once in a carton. Used those 2 yolks to make a red velvet cake.
Omg my boyfriend and I had SIX eggs from a dozen of eggs be double yolked. I had never seen one before but then I was eating them every day for a week 😂
Nice Video, I definitely learned some new facts today about probability chances.
Congratulations u get a digri
So glad i found this channel.
The bowl that turtles drop when they get hit by lightning... bet it's supposed to be their shell.
Han Solo be like “Never tell me the odds”
Possibly the best ending to a video I’ve ever seen in my life
4:55 The math here is actually incorrect. The chance of getting a chicken from all 16 eggs in one go is (1/8)^16 which is 3,5527 * 10^(-15). This is in fact 3,5527 to the power of minus one quadrillion, but that does not mean the chance is 1 in 3,5527 * 10^(-15). The chance is 1 / (3,5527 * 10^(-15)) = 2,81 * 10^(14) So the chance is around 1 : 2,81 * 10^(14) or 1 in 281.000.000.000.000 or 1 in 281 trillion
I loved it so much, my brain broke
bro casually came back after 10 months and acts like normal 💀💀
no way it's been 10 months... *checks* damn... it's been 10 months
Actually the rarest thing depends on how much eggs you threw, because it's like threwing 1,000,000 Eggs and gettin in all 1,000,000 Eggs( every egg 4 Chickens) 4,000,000 Chickens in a row which the probability is Soooo much more than a googol. So there's actually no highest probability.(It's the exact same with the World switch and Wither skeleton head usw.
0:50 holy shit I got shivers from this because it actually had happened to me a few weeks ago and I thought there's no way... but it was a single player so nobody could change rates or anything
Bro, Turtle lightning stuff is miscalculated. A lightning randomly struck on a block is a not 1 in 80 million chance. It depends on your render distance. Suppose your render distance is set to 8 which means 2048 surface Blocks rendered in your Minecraft world if I'm not wrong. Then a random lightning struck in a random block is 1/2048. That makes the rarity of a Turtle hit by a lightning, 2%× 1.4% × 1in2048 = 1.3671875e-7 which far less rarer than what you said. BTW Excellent video! I love these rarity calculations. So satisfying. Keep up!❤️🔥
the calculation is based on 16 render distance, even with that said, it would still be wrong to say the chance is "1 in 16x16 = 65,536 blocks" because lightning isn't constantly striking all the time. we also aren't looking for the lightning to strike any block within render distance, specifically a block with a turtle standing on it. the chance 1 in 80 million also wasn't calculated by me because theres a lot of factors that go into it and i'm not that smart lol. i also failed to mention in the video that it's technically 1 in 80 million *per second*
@@notPenney I Don't think this is the true calculation. Suppose you're in a exact 2048 blocks biome. You're only rendering that 2048 Blocks. (Ofcourse all these are surface area). There's a single Turtle in that biome. A Turtle really moves slow. Suppose it's not moving at all. Now if suddenly the weather changes. And there's atleast one thunder to happen during this bad weather then the chances of that Turtle getting struck by that lightning is actually 1 in 2048. But Now if you consider that there's a beach biome to render randomly, some Turtle to spawn randomly, then the weather needs to change by randomness then the lightning needs to hit exactly the Turtle randomly. Now that would be impossibly rare. It's like the moment your new world loads and this happens. That's rare. But it's not the case I guess.
u guys spend at least 5 min on this thing and I have no idea what you guys are talking about
@@Sneaky_Duck Try to understand🤓
@@notPenneygiven that it's 1 in 80 million per second, you should really add that up over the course of the length of a thunderstorm (1 - 1/80mil)^(seconds in a thunderstorm), which would give you your chances of one specific turtle being struck per thunderstorm. I think it also doesn't really make sense to multiply by the percent of the time that the game is having a thunderstorm, because... what exactly does that mean for this calculation? Percent chance of a thunderstorm happening? Per... second? Chance of a specific turtle being struck by lightning in a storm that happens to spawn in the next second? There's weirdness with the interoperability.
If the modified jungle edge is so rare, why do i keep spawning in/ near them? It's been at least 3 or 4 of the last dozen worlds I've created
the double seed part has happened to me once before
2:28 is the rarer than all COMBINED by a margin.
oh, so you want the rarest thing to occur in minecraft? sure, what about all stronghold in the worlds having active portals? it's already like 1 in 10^1500 or something :idk:

I remember a few years back I played Minecraft on the Ps4 version and generated 2 worlds with the same seed back to back…little did I know that it was THAT rare for that to happen
it was probs only 1 in 4 billion actually because of how seeds in non-java versions are. you get 4 billion instead of 18 quintillion possiblrme because it uses and integer instead of a long value

The turtle bowl is probably meant to be a stand in for a shell Only once I saw 3 Skelton horse riders attacking Me, it was so scary
I just found a diamond vein of 16 diamonds in minecraft vanilla
Penney: every world is entirely different Sister seeds:
I remember a speedrunner talking about how they were doing a speedrun and got an end portal with all eyes filled, and it prevented them from entering the end because you need to place an eye in to trigger it, super lucky and unlucky at the same time
In set seed speedruns, the only 12 eye filled portal seed ever discovered was used to break records by cutting out the nether entirely. In other words, people could go through it, so idk what that guy was talking about 🤷♂️
@Zeelda1564 most likely was an older version before that interaction worked correctly
@@supitaly never happened. The closest to this was found by tarokitchen (an 8 eye), which is an insane 1 in 100 million. But yeah speedrunners have found 12 eye seeds, but not by loading worlds randomly, but seedfinding using programs
@Speed Birb so I found the vid, its a sgdq run in 2019, and they said " any number of eyes can be filled, up to 12 which will actually softlock him" so my mistake was assuming that by saying that they had seen that happen before, but yeah prob was just a found seed, but does mean on older versions it was a softlock, and they eventually fixed it kzhead.info/sun/eZ2CoqlpZHhjhoU/bejne.html 28:00
Having 12 eyes filled in is around 1 in trillion I have heard, so no one will ever find it unfortunately.
2:14 excuse me, but maybe you meant in the corner of 4 chunks? So it would be 32 instead of 64. However, according to the wiki diamond ore generates in 3 batches: 7 veins of 1-4 ores per chunk, 1 vein of 1-12 ores per 1/9 chunks, 4 veins of 1-8 ores per chunk. So technically if all 12 veins spawn next to each other in the corner of 4 chunks and all of them has a maximum amount of diamond ores and the same happens in the 3 adjacent to this corner chunks and these structures of veins are connected to each other then we get 4 * (7 * 4 + 12 + 4 * 8) = 288 ores in total. This would give 288 * 2.2 = 633.6 diamonds or almost 10 stacks on average with Fortune 3 pickaxe.
And what is the probability of this happening?
I just dont understand your comment. What do you mean with batches? Your whole comment is confusing as hell.
Something more rare: a world with all of the end portals are filled there are 128 end portals and the chance of this happening is 10¹⁵³⁶ this number means: 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
3:20 very huge selection bias, there isn't one specific turtle as well
A turtle dropping a bowl is actually very realistic The bowl is the turtle's shell, which you break when normally kill it, but when a lightning strucks the turtle, the shell is remaining solid leaving us a bowl
Not realism just pure specific chances in minecraft
I actually got the end portal filled up by itself couple of years ago!
I've come across a modified jungle edge biome every time in the last three of my worlds, relatively close to spawn too
Had us in the first 9 minutes and 18 seconds ngl
corrections: 1. the chance of getting a baby chicken out of all 16 eggs is 1 in 281 trillion 1/8^16 (still absurd) 2. the chance of getting the same seed twice isn't that low because not all seeds can be generated randomly
8:30 Dream: ok my turn now to do this in survival hardcore
Now, with the rare occurrences in the video talked about. What if you MULTIPLY them to appear all at once? Like 10 baby pink sheep? Or 4 turtles struck by lighting at once? Or stumbling upon the 64 diamond ore vein 3 times in a row? Now that's not so rare compared to getting the rarest thing in minecraft 5 times! Holy I wish I could know what the chances are.
idk man the odds of every end portal in a world having 12 eyes sound pretty insanely high to me
i thought the naturally spawned baby pink sheep i saw in 2016 was really rare, after watching this video i realized that wasn't the case
it was rare! dont let these ungodly numbers fool you :)
another rare thing is that you can find 2 portals next to each other
Who else thinks this sounds like a documentary, and should be a documentary?
Fun Fact, I actually have a few pink sheep in my server and also, we have hatched 4 baby chick's 2 or more times. We have not have a jungle edge biome yet.
I loaded up the same world twice in bedrock on two different phones and I was so confused
I think the math on the turtle dropping a bowl is severely off because the lightning can kill a turtle even if it doesn't strike the same block it just has to hit near it
This video started as a fun fact probability Minecraft video, and somehow, we ended talking about Number Complexity, Universe Theory and Moms. Wow.

Wait a minute… So I randomly bumbled into the rarest biome in the game?
I had a moment where I killed two wither skeletons with a sweeping edge looting sword and they both dropped their skulls. It's a 0.3% chance of happening, so not unheard of, but was still really cool for me
Had the same thing but I killed them in a row. The third skull took me another 25 wither skeletons though
There are things so rare in Minecraft that we haven’t even experienced them yet
I got back to back mending books from fishing on my xbox. I clipped it. I think that's pretty dang rare.
