Holy cow that first clip in the snow with the elk was absolutely insane
The way your marksman effortlessly takes down targets is truly impressive, they make it look easy!
elk are magnificent creatures omfg
Agreed but also won't be saying that as they charge you the first was was preparing to they gracefull from afar hahahs found that out the hard way never been more thankful for river rapids in my whole life if I didn't jump in that river I would most likely not be here today or with life long injurys

I loved the guy trying to stop the bull with cat sounds 😂

Cat sounds? Stay in the city urbanite.
trying to make a deer sound but unfortunately failing :)
Its the same idiot.
Beautiful creatures and even more beautiful shots best we have in Australia is Samba but going on a elk hunt in peak rut is on bucket list
Find this so relaxing to watch before going to sleep 😍
Enjoy!
I freaking love the sound of the arrow impacting the hyde of the animal. Sorta like asmr
Crazy footage!
That bull @8:12 is what everyone is expecting during the rut! Prime specimen!
A little to far forward facing for myself but he did put it where it needed to be in the vitals at that angle. So props

Every experienced bowhunter has had rough shots, not all make so many really questionable shots for mainstream TV.
I’m never shooting another front facing or quartered deer again bro I lost two doe doing that shit makes a mf sad

Fromt facing shots are decent shots . Issue is having enough power for pass threw . I've shot many deer hogs etc in chest never had Issue of finding them
Some incredible footage! Thanks so much for sharing it!
Glad you enjoyed this! There are some beautiful bulls in this footage. Did you bow hunt this fall?
@@EastmansHuntingJournals Unfortunately, no. I've developed some serious back issues which limits my ability to do much these days. But my eyes work FINE so I get to enjoy video's like yours! Thanks for asking.

Beautiful ... splendid animals. A LOT of meat and pack out work.Interesting the calling after the shot to keep the animal confused and close I guess?
You think they take the meat?
@@jamiecook8239 Good hunters waste nothing. Some hunts don't have provision for using the meat like a Kodiak Bear hunt. In that case they leave the meat for the natural predators [likely other bears], but are required to take the hide and proof of sex. I understand they can't keep the bear claws either ... its a DNR thing to prevent it turning into a trophy abuse thing. The taxidermist uses pre-formed plastic claws to get the natural look.
i envy you!! im from switzerland and we can only dream of hunts like that. i cant imagine how it feels if a bull bugles that close. i guess you can literally feel it?

I know you couldnt hear me but I was yelling at you to take that frontal shot before that elk turned a ran off. Too late. Great video.
Nice!
Thanks for watching - have you been in the elk woods this fall?
@@EastmansHuntingJournals Yes, but its been my 1st time back in 17 years. 5 days in the woods with my 4 older kids. Spooked 3 cows, drew down on a black tail(doe, twice) but couldn't get a clean shot, got a grunt from a 3 point and my kids got to see a bull rake a pour little apple tree then bolted after the wind changed😅😅. Didn't tag anything but had lots of fun with my kids. Lots have changed here since the early 2000s.
BEAUTIFUL BULLS

@@EastmansHuntingJournals what if those defenseless animals will do the same thing to your family, how would you feel?!!
People hating on the frontal shots are clowns lol. It’s an extremely effective shot.
A lot of room for error I believe is why people dislike it so much but if landed in the right spot definitely is deadly as hell
Great video! Is it safe to camp directly around these guys?
Rhino horns, elephant tusk, elk antlers
The bull at 2:37, massive thirds. Like you would expect those to be the royals but na man. Nice bull with good mass
hello sir What region is this wonderful nature in?
I started shooting archery when I was 8 and I'm now 63. It's been shown that when an archery compentency test is given before a hunter is granted a permit/license, less than 25% can perform and pass under pressure. And these are not difficult shooting tests either. The problem is the pressure and the adrenalin, and it causes even good "backyard" archers to fly shots everywhere. For the archers who are interviewed after hunts, the compilation of responses shows that 10 arrows fly for two hits, (lots of liars in the other 8 shot deniers), and one retrieved animal. Seriously, test youself. Arrange to have 5 of your buddies come over for one purpose, and one purpose only: To watch you shoot 5 arrows at 25 yards into a 9" pie plate. Make a solemn agrement with them that if you miss any arrow outside of the pie plate you will not bow hunt that season. No mulligans. No do-overs. No "oh buts". See how you do. If you pass the "pressure test" then go hunt, still holding to ethical distances and shot angles of course. If you don't pass the test, then have respect for these magnificient creatures and creations of God and stay on the practice range until the year comes when you can pass the test above. Because there so few places that require an archery compentency test to hunt, what we largely have now is a reckless bloodsport.
Well said. I will be using your competency test this year. Thanks
I could never shoot these creatures unless I was confident I could put it down. I am getting into bow hunting but I got a crossbow just to make sure I put them down. Hope to work my way up to compound bow.
@@andrewgoldin6905 Lots of practice. Crossbow really isn't different than a compound. Judging yardage is the key. Take a range finder out hiking. Find a tree or a stump and ask yourself how far? Range it. How close (yardage) is your judgement according to the target distance?
ok. your statement is nuts, unless I am hanging with an elite crowd , unknowingly. If I can't put 5 arrows TOUCHING ECH other, in the 10 ring, at 25 yards, then I am hanging my head in complete failure . Baseball size groups at 65 yards and minute of pie plate at 130. That's normal out west
@@bigjeep3539 where you live at? I’ll make you a bet you can’t hit a pie plate 5 times in 5 shots at 130 yards. I’m in Denver.
The bull at 9:40 was kind of cool. He didn't drop until all the females had jump the fence. Make sure everybody was safe before he fell.
Not the man doubting the woman lol
4:09 did he say hear poked him?😂 hit him directly in the shoulder blade
17:05 dude was ballsy to make that shot! A pass through would have put down 2😂😂

I’ve always been told not to take a quartering towards shot ….. am I missing something how does he get so much pen ? Great video tho love it !!!
4:00… absolute perfect shot
Beautiful Elk, did not like the frontal the shots, like to now if they were all recovered.
All of the bulls harvested in this video were recovered and enjoyed on family dining tables 👍
Frontal shots are actually extremely effective if you’ve put in the work with your bow setup and know where to aim
@@1bowmaniam dude what are you talking about. A frontal shot (if hit) is arguably the most deadly shot you can take. Ask Corey Jacobsen about it.
@@1bowmaniam there is room for error actually. Not as much as a broadside shot obviously but there is room. If you’re shooting from 30 or less there isn’t really a problem with a frontal. BRO dropped a video not too long ago where a frontal shot is used on a bull that is actually quartered, and it was a clean kill. All of the vitals are accessible from the front. I agree that it’s stupid to take a frontal from farther than 30 or so, but inside that isn’t unethical.
What a send at 2:20 !! looks like 100 Yards 😬
Nice
I really like the way the natural sounds were the only audio. Those who think they can improve on it with background music deceive themselves. It's as if you're right there with them.
That intro clip was probably the most intense one I’ve seen on youtube! Just a question, would a headshot have been ideal in that situation? Or is their brain located in a small section of the skull & thus harder to hit.
Even with my 8+ years of experience I would have just held it and waited but in a different circumstance I would have took the shot
Yes
Headshots are never a good idea, especially with a bow
For the shot at 7:20 what is the yardage on that shot?
That was bad ass, fellas!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Sike
😅2:09, what a beautiful shot mam.
Mantap2 bosku
Everyone has their comfort zone for shots. It's obvious he is confident at long range but at the same time passed on a chip shot frontal. Go with what you personally are comfortable with and you know will make a quick kill. I would never take an 80 yd shot because my bow isn't quiet enough but I would have dropped that bull frontal at 15 all day long.
Beautiful Hermosa 👌👌👌👌👌
Podrías decirme en tu opinión, cuál es el mejor arco
The best bow is the one your most comfortable with, doesn't matter the price cheap or expensive as long as your comfortable with it your good to go.
I love the idea of hunting and the purpose of hunting. hope these bulls got the respect that these beast deserve. I also hope that these bulls fed many bellies. without meat we die. so please people respect God's creation with dignity and respect. good shooting and hunting skills for sure. God bless
So now we need a video about all your recipes for all these fine pieces of meat you brought home. I hope you have a big fridge 😜

I could smell the bull through the screen @3:00
hunting is fun and all but the incidence was when a elk got real close and he looked me in the eye and i just thought like i will be the last thing he remembers before he dies, thats the only hard part, looking them in the eyes

@@capostrength3908 It was a heart shot. How is that unethical?
@@b.c.gamingss bro it was like 3 miles away.
@@capostrength3908 That is not three miles.
@@b.c.gamingss dude it was an exaggeration. Obviously you’re too slow to catch on so I have to be technical. 20-25 yards is a clean and ethical shot. This was way over that. They teach you that in the hunting course.

You should have crouched for 2x sneak damaGE... USE THE ANTLERS FOR DAMAGE STAMINA REGEN POTION...
Wao gut
Why do they fall so quickly after being shot? Aren't they designed to withstand a horn fight ?
Yeah but when you have a nice sharp broadhead hitting the heart and lungs they go down quick halftime the their horns won’t hit there and they are extremely tough it’s just that these guys are hitting the elk where it hurts with a good shot
it is legal to hunt down this beautiful animals?
How come they didn’t shoot the bull from the first shot ?
Anyone else heard bout KZhead’s new policy about hunting it’s stupid and lots of channels are gonna lose money..
Nooo poor little hunters ;( :(
Reminds me of the time I was walking in the woods and bumped into a 12 pointer just staring right at me with a bunch of though I’m so lucky he wasn’t in route seriously he could’ve killed me in a heartbeat I have nothing on me but a stick
Some how, it's quite sad though.
Dipping poison in the arrow or is the arrow enough to kill?
Arrow is enough to kill efficiently. -Dan
Many of these hunters need to start using ethical arrow weights and broadheads…poor penetration, but got lucky on these ones..
All in Montana?
Not all Montana, all western states.
All those people that are crying about bad shots shut up you obviously haven’t got up before daybreak walked for a couple hours straight up a mountain finally called a bull into range after two weeks of hunting then try to execute a perfect shot on a animal this is real world I’m sure they wanted better on a few of them but that’s hunting and a frontal shot you watch to much tv sink them in there boys then go recover your elk coming from someone that’s has been there and done that if you haven’t don’t worry your turns coming especially now you have talked crap
These are great but 11 ads in a 20 minute video? Painful
Dang! That is a lot of ads. Sadly we don't have control over how many ads KZhead shoves into video. Thanks for your comment.
2yrs later, 0 ads on the video
This is why I will ALWAYS prefer rifle hunting. Even if it ain't quick, it's MUCH more ethical than what this guy was pissin around with. Jeez.

No other hunting personality holds a candle next to Dan Pickar for questionable, unethical shots ...
Lots of bad lessons here for guys that are not capable of these questionable shots.
I couldn't agree more. Quartering to shots and long range moving shots? Over and over. Really surprised the heck out of me. He must be god tier tracking at this point. Or doesn't recover half the animals he sinks an arrow into
Yeah a quarrying shot with a good broadhead and arrow is one thing but moving shots at that range is another
