No Rest for The Wicked Early Access Review - The Final Verdict
Moon Studios' No Rest for the Wicked is a Souls-like, survival-lite, town-building, platforming, action RPG with a heavy narrative focus. You may think it just needs farming and co-op to complete the ensemble of genres. Don't worry - those are on the way in subsequent updates.
Available for PC via Steam Early Access, it's a stunning title with a grim medieval fantasy aesthetic and unique premise, not to mention strong characterization and voice acting. The combat response is also something to behold, with a solid weight and heft. It would seem to have all the ingredients for success. And it's getting there. Slowly.
What's here may be worth checking out, but No Rest for the Wicked still needs more work with its enemy balancing, scaling, movement, inventory management and performance before it can achieve greatness.
“The final verdict” for an early access game? Lol
yes! for people who want to play it now? i mean whats wrong with that
@@zbi2zbu762 just a silly goofy little statement
@@zbi2zbu762 Because it won't be the final verdict for a still in development game.... Not rocket science buddy.
@@sammyflinders it is when a game won't be finished. so could be, friend
Can you read? Its the final verdict for the early access version, meaning they wont review any of the patches but they will probably review 1.0.
BG3 was criticized for bugs and game mechanics too 🤷 I’m waiting until it’s not in early access to judge it.
This is a phenomenal game. It’s a joy to play. The early access issues are minor.
I haven’t played the game but have been watching a lot of videos on it, keeping up on the hot fixes. That being said, this review seems really off. I just purchased today and will finally be jumping into this. I think the game looks great with so much more to come.
I dont agree with a lot of points on this video. Game is great, not fully polished but still very good, just takes more skill than the casual games out there.
This game is amazing and you complained about a lot of things that they are going to fix.. and saying "final verdict" in the title is not only ridiculous but not fair to moon studios where the game is in early access and only a 1/3 of the game has been released
parry (with weapons) has been changed in recent hotfix, now it requires stamina.
Terrible review. Never messed with Stat points before? Yea you need more carry weight fir a claymore, but if you go light weapons and armor then you don't. Wtf is this review? It's early access people. Kinks will be ironed out. The game is great, just buy it and play. And final verdict on an Early Access game? You tripping man.
It's odd to see the final verdict on an early access game. I have to agree with others here. I've put in 40+ hours now and the game is constantly getting bug fixes and adjustments, as you would expect from an early access game and I have to be honest here...the game is phenomenal even with the bits we do get to play now. Extremely excited to play the full release.
I like look of it , you know what you getting. Simple
Blocking with low poise is pointless for sure. But if you stack poise then you can stagger most enemies when you block their attack. Blocking is definitely not pointless depending on your build. Just fyi!
You have every right to your opinion, and don't change it, but you should also have said you were expecting a fully finished more difficult version of diablo rather than what it is. The majority of your criticism was only that because you chose to view it like that, after listening to the detail which you well provided the same negatives sounded like features.
I Hope the world of the full game will be massive !🙏
Moon studios made the Ori series. You know they will make this game great eventually when they iron out the bugs. And the have the decency to put the early access tag next to the game, unlike most triple A studios that dont but their games are still far away from being complete. So dont judge them too hard, just give them time.
What I want to know is,are they human? They're bodies are weirdly shaped especially our character.lol the arms are long and legs are not ,maybe that's just the devs character design.
I like it. Lanky fellas
@@shatteredsentient5321I like the game it's fun and engaging, but I do wonder
This game is fantastic.
The 1st FINAL VERDICT
This game looks incredible
6/10? Dang, someone's out of his mind. The only real downside right now is the amount of content for the asking price, otherwise, sure there's some tweaking to do, but this is at the lowest, a 7. For souls like fan, this is easily an 8-9, and by the time it hits full release, a full 10 score might not be that crazy to consider. Right now, after 50hours, I'm sitting on a solid 8/10. Cheaters have already dug out an extra 150 weapons from the game as well as plenty of unique armour sets, makes you wonder how close we may be to the next content drop, hopefully we get some news concerning this in a relatively near future.
Its a clear skill issue
I dont care about your score, im an old school gamer that thinks a lot of new games are missing the magic. Since buying I have put over 25 hours in and I also work full time or it would be a lot more. Rarely games grab my attention as much as this. Suffice it to say the magic is here!
Is rly rly promising game.
the game is early access, how can you give it a "Final Verdict" review if is not the final product ? I think this should be a "First Impressions" or something like that
Devs are rolling out fixes like crazy fast. Just for that effort I give them 10/10. Game has its bugs and issues, but nothing that cannot be fixed in a couple of patches down the road.
the comments show that people actually enjoy it despite it being an early access. if you wanna play this game do not let the reviews hold you back. listen to the actual feedback from casual players.
Final Verdict for Early Access, yes you are really …
why the hell these reviwers keep hating on new ideas?
Early Access review final verdict.. What does that even mean?
gaming bolt LOL, pulled an ign on this one...the games at least an 8 even in EA
Whoop whoop.
Weapon durability loss does not lessen effectiveness and cursed weapons have higher buffs with only one debuff. Fkkn reviewers these days. Get your facts straight.
Title name is a bit long
Why are we reviewing and scoring a game in early access... wait til it has everything and it's fully released.
Game is awesome.
The Durability complaint has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Its not like its BOTW or TOTK. I have 30 hours in this game and haven't broken I single item. They legit have Items in game that repair all equipped items durability. And on top of the enchant issue they literally said choices matter in the game they want what you do to status and items to have IMPACT. Def tone review kinda. Also this is a similar route BG3 took. This game is already better then most Triple A games that have come out in the past 3 years.
If the camera view was different this game would look so much better in my opinion
Works great for what it is.
I'll never understand the hate for isometric games. Baldurs gate 3 was beautiful
@@spok22sdungeon siege still looks great to me lol
Reviewers have given up on a complete game releasing
Anyone else tired of rolls? Can we just do dashes instead? It makes more sense
Worst review I've ever read or seen. This is the 1st time I put such a negative comment even in forums. For instance, some of the instant pikes in difficulty when you come back to an old zone after beating a boss, seeing some old paths now closed, new enemies, etc. were terrifying and very hardly manageable. How f***ingly refreshing., exactly what a game saying it takes a bit of souls-like should do. It was one of the very best experiences of gamer I had in 39 years of gaming. You want it to disappear? Seriously, I don't want to be "vulgaire" but you understood the idea. Same goes with almost all the issues you pointed, issues being decided game rules with so, so many ways to workaround.. Learning game mechanics and adapt is what such video games should ask you to do (in so many ways of builds here!), the essence of a video game. It is funny as hell. After understanding the game mechanics, knowing the game patterns, understanding the limits of climbing/jumping and so much more, you rule this world but by staying alert and it's incredibly satisfying. It needs to have many things tweaked but such a negative review is a shame when we are objective.
This product seems to come from a company that did a good half-way job.. and doesn't know how to do everything else.
Reviewer complains about stamina as he rolls everywhere....
Early access is an excuse nowadays for developers to release a game unfinished and snap money.
Do we really need PS5 Pro? Last gen standard PS4 couldn't surpassed 1080p so Mid Gen was needed for 4K TV owns. Standard PS5 is fully able to hit higher resolutions 1080p. So does it matter PS5 Pro can do 4K/60 when base PS5 has modes of 4K/30 or 1080p/60
No, there is no need for a ps5 pro. Unless you own my ps5, which can’t even play the last of us part 1 remake. Such a joke.
@@iDriveAhondaCivic It runs fine on PS5
@@iDriveAhondaCivicWell, I guess everyone needs to grab one since we don’t own your ps5.
When can i play the demo on ps5😂
You give a score of 6/10, are you kidding?!! The game in current state is at least 8/10, when polished and fully released probably it will be 9/10.
Anyone else see the dead pixel in the opening video and thought their device had a dead pixel?!?! Lol. Freaked me out.
You mean the mouse arrow?
@@Neerano yes lol. On my phone it was so small it looked like a dead pixel.
I can't stand these mainstream site reviews. Why do you start telling us the story? Is there something wrong with you?
Giving this a review score in early access is stupid, its NOT FINISHED! Imagine a food critc rating a meal while it's still in the pan. Also this complaining about games that put up a challenge. It's a tough game, you need to display skill and prepare for big fights. Maybe go back to facerolling D4. Awful (pre)view.
I don't agree. Giving it a review is fine, but the title makes you think it won't get any better, but the difficulty thing is another story. I felt like what the reviewer said was accurate. The game isn't "too difficult", it's just too frustrating in the sense that too much of the game I felt like my deaths were because of some weird combat design choice or just a moment of jank or something, and not because I played bad, in comparison the souls games and other like it feel a lot more fair, even when the challenge itself is harder
I really want to like this game, it is just way too punishing.
Looks pretty framey
First here.. Yaayyyy
Why are you reviewing an early access game?
What a trash video name. Final verdict of an early access game op
Too bad it's an isometric
Really stupid review on a EA game, just upgrade your equipment & vendors, & for looting, create additional realms
Game is ass.
Too Woke 😢
