Key word is crush. That all happened super fast after a major breakup. New relationship hormones and chemicals are powerful and euphoric but they don't last forever. Love is the hard work that two people decide to commit to after that newlywed phase fades out.

Death is a part of life, but if you're not being fully honest with yourself about your feelings, it can be a huge wake up call. I feel for her. I'm not judging. Hopefully there is a lot of healing happening for her now and moving forward.

I think it was just hard for fans to deal with the whirlwind nature of their relationship and he's a comedian, which people aren't used to their faves dating (and comics are known to push the envelope). But of course, their relationship was so rushed I was not at all surprised it didn't survive Mac's death (and for Ariana, I'm sure that was doubly hard as she was unfairly blamed for it).

He was a dick (sorta) but they really rushed it
thank god they aren’t together anymore, she’s in a happy & fulfilling relationship now.
She was worse to him she said their entire relationship was a distraction and meant nothing and you can see from how happy and confident she is here that that just isn’t true.
@@gracekim1878 her saying that the relationship was a distraction does not mean she wasn’t truly happy with pete. she did love him, but she made a lot of decisions trying to cover up her pain. she clearly wasn’t over mac and impulsively made decisions, like jumping right into to an engagement with pete, thinking that would help her move on. she pretended she was happier than she actually was and that’s what she meant by the relationship being a distraction because she did not truly move on from someone who she had such a close bond with, i.e mac miller.
Ariana taking about therapy and her "out of body experienced" (disassociating) in a casual and positive way is SO powerful and beautiful.
Emily Bushman I struggle so much with dissociation and derealisation/personalisation it’s not fun :( and I love that you spoke about anxiety and mental health
I do too, and that's why I personally appreciate seeing someone with influence talk about it. It's scary, but we shouldn't treat it like a super rare, mysterious, spooky thing (which seems to be a tendency). I feel like this whole album radiates the joy that can come from finding your place and recovering after so much pain.

her talking about sweetener is everything, it’s my favorite album out of all her discography because it was so very much different from all her other previous projects, she was so ahead of her time with that album yet nobody was ready for that conversation

i think she’s happy now she’s just not online/ posting everything because she wants to keep her peace. it’s heartbreaking to see what she’s been through. we can only assume keeping her life private is what keeps her happy and away from social pressures.
