Derrick goes into flight or fight mode like this often when he knows that he does not have the stamina to continue. Cage-side Announcers are loud cheerleaders trying to lather up the crowds. So-called "fighters" rarely perform at a professional competitive level. Sad, but the female MMA combatants do a much better job of passionate competition than the males. It has become a paycheck and a big PPV payday for promoters.

  • I wish I could wrestle as good as Rosholt. High level wrestling is unbeatable unless you're also a high level wrestler. It's a real superpower for one on one fights.

    • His BJJ was really bad. Don’t know why he didn’t fully take the back or full mount.

    • @@michaeljones5622 looked to me like derrick lewis was doing a good job of keeping his knee high to block going to mount. Derrick lewish is very good at exploding/strengthing his way off the ground when his opponent tries to transition to a submission or different position. It might look like Derrick lewis was begging for a transition to S-mount and armbar or something else, but if Rosholt shifted his weight too much then Lewis would probably use that moment to muscle out of there. There's a compilation of him getting up when a bunch of different heavyweights have him on the bottom. without using a sweep or anything , just using a lot of strenght and some explosivity at the right time when the other guy is shifting his weight and trying to transition or submit. he looks like a deceptively difficult guy to keep down and get a lot of damage on.

    • @@michaeljones5622 in a real fight without referee stand-ups or round times it wouldn;t have mattered because roshold could just be heavy on top and Lewis' stamina would eventually drain first.
