Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is a real-time strategy video game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts.It was released on October 28, 2008 in the United States for Microsoft Windows and October 30, 2008 in Europe. An Xbox 360 version was released on November 11.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising, a stand-alone expansion pack, was released for Microsoft Windows in March 2009. It was offered via digital distribution.
Like the previous entries in the Red Alert series, the game is set in an alternate reality from World War II, in which the Western Allies fight the Soviet Union.
In Red Alert 3 the Soviet leadership, facing defeat, goes back in time to kill Albert Einstein and prevent his assistance to the allies, paving the way for Soviet domination in the present. However, as an unintended consequence, a third world power, the Empire of the Rising Sun, is created and all three sides go to war.
The three factions are playable, with the gameplay involving constructing a base, gathering resources and training armies to defeat other players. Each faction has a fully co-operative campaign, playable with either an artificial intelligence partner or with another player online.

    • Yeah. Both Red Alert 3 and RA3 Uprising are available for download on Steam. A bit expensive but worth it. I wish EA made another Command and Conquer game.

  • 2/3 Refineries and 1 oil is pretty enough at the beginning. If other player spotted you expand your base with scouts, they will definitely go for your outpost collectors with APC, Sickle or Tengu and you will have a hard time with insufficient income and no defence units.

    • Does the AI really have to scout me before attack? if it does not scout me, will he not attack? I didn't know how this works in red alert 3.

    • @@zoom3000 That's the tactic in PVP and the original RA3, few go for the fourth outpost before entering tier 2 otherwise you are vulnerable at the beginning, especially when someone harass you or Soviet player using tower rush tactic (MCV deploy right under your nose, bulding barrack and defenses in your base). And as far as I know, one JP AI in original RA3 (Shinzo or Kenji) love to harass your harvester with Tengu at very beginning. BTW, although the DLC has more units, they are not so that balanced and many maps are modified which is not suitable for tournament, thus that's why there's no multiplayer in Uprising. You may try the original one with CNC Online, which is more popular compared with the DLC.

    • @@zoom3000 They do both. They send in the scout and then retreat to regroup before attacking that position properly. Depending on how your base is build, sometime you can see an infantry just move into the middle of your base. Standing there and do nothing until either you kill him or his reinforcement arrives. Their AI is weird as fuck.

    • @@zoom3000 no man AI in C&C has access to all information about what you’re doing. That’s how it gauges difficulty. Essentially, it puts you in situations that A) punish you for bad or negligent playing B) puts you in positions that you can win but seem unwindable, demanding you to react as quickly as possible and simultaneously figure out what their tactic is to counter it C) rewards you with winnable scenarios (that you must seize) if you’ve endured enough of their attacks D) punishes you if you continuously miss those winnable opportunities it makes for you Essentially, the computer is striving to demand of you to act as quickly and decisively as possible while punishing you for each mistake you make. So you are in a naturally unfair situation. If you are a noob, the Medium computer will NOT let you win until you learn your basic lessons about the game (aggressive, unit composition, management of multiple bases and control points, air land and sea presence, quick recognition and knowledge of capabilities of enemy units, etc.) Once you overcome medium, all the computer is doing is increasing the speed and consistency at which it engages in these various tactics. So if you get this down to a science you can never lose to a computer. The only situations in which someone loses to a computer (if they are skilled enough to beat brutal), is if they are thinking too slowly. That’s it. There are no psychological elements to playing against a computer insofar as deception or learning about the unique way that your opposing commander’s mind is working/the tactics they are striving for. When playing against a human, both you and them can only have your attention on one thing at once, meaning that such tactics as diversions, bluffs, micromanagement superiority, as well as aspects of warfare which pertain to humans such as morale, mental fatigue, mistakes based on miscalculated conclusions regarding the information they have on the enemy, the exploitation of strengths and weaknesses as one comes to understand the opponent’s experience and temperament (arrogance, underestimation, laziness, hyper aggression, complacency, poor ability to manage large groups, etc) DO NOT APPLY to AI. All that applies is the speed at which your cognition is operating and your rote knowledge of the units, maps, and gameplay/economy mechanics. This is why I hate playing AI because I’m much more interested in the nuances of psychological competition. Becoming competent against AI, as displayed in this gameplay, requires a mind that can operate on a cognitive aptitude more near to that of a computer. The details I’ve described here are WHY RTS AI is not an intelligent system. There is no deep learning or Neuro linguistic program systems at play, I.e. the computer is not gathering information in real time then making calculated decisions based on the info. It is simply plugging numbers into preset formulae and churning out a result. This type of system can be easily engineered to NEVER lose against a human without ever having played against a human being once. Take for instance Alpha Go, the artificial intelligence that has learned how to never lose a match of go against a human being. Alpha Go HAD to play against human beings in order to _learn how_ to beat them.

  • This is was good, but why you dont use a Giga Fortress? They're too imbal? And try to use additional unit abilities in battle. If not in a tense, full-scale battle, then you can do this in a small battle between a pair of units, as here 19:05.

    • Yea, since Generals they improved a lot the AI, and its so hard to fight 7 vs 1. In Red alert 3 its impossible, unless you play some bunker map with a lot of money.
