Also take into consideration how the president was against joining the Russians to fight the Rising sun, and how he tried to cause world chaos to avoid it. It would make sense for the Empire to have him do that so that they'd be able to take over the world after the chaos.

Kinda liked the 2 differing strategies the Emperor and Tatsu has. Tatsu's main strategy is just straight up crushing the opponent on the field. The Emperor instead prefer to demoralize the opponent so that after the war's done, they won't be opposing him. Basically, the Emperor goes for the long game, Tatsu's the shorter game.
@SMAXZO4 жыл бұрын
On the other hand, focusing on purely moral objectives means the enemy's war machine and infrastructure is left standing, free to pump out all the resources needed to crush you. Not to mention diverting resources for the defense of what's essentially a vanity project (destroying Lenin's statue and replacing it your own, all the while people bleed and machines break for it. How foolish). And if you ask me, an army with dwindling food, supplies and weapons gets demoralized faster
@floricel_112 Жыл бұрын
More "society is made of human" vs "society is made of stuff" If a society is made of human, the best strat is to have them to stop fighting. If society is made of stuf, the best strat is to destroy ennemy stuff. Tatsu only consider stuff because he studied robotic, where stuff can replace human.

@undernerd58243 жыл бұрын
@@undernerd5824 No. The invasion of Manchuria was a factor. Prior to either of those events Japan already had elements of the Government that were seeking to surrender, and they went to the Soviets for help in establishing communications. Unfortunately the Soviets took advantage of this, and went to the Americans with a promise they could make the Japanese surrender. The US was already thinking of the future and the Cold War was about to begin: allowing the Soviets to create the peace would've elevated them on the global stage. So, the US opted to use nuclear weapons. Japan never got the surrender solution elements of it's government were seeking through the Soviets, who were exploiting their information to strengthen their position in the post war. The United States strengthened their post war position and essentially immediately convinced the majority of the Japanese Government to immediately surrender when they destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The fact Japan was already losing - and lost Manchuria - had convinced SOME members of the government to surrender but the debate completely ended with those bombs. Japan had no response and the options on the table were clear: complete annhilation or surrender.

christian apolloni The GLA would be annihilated by NOD, you can't even compare the two factions. Nod has terrorist and suicide bombers themselves. By all definitions, they would be considered terrorists, if they weren't a global superpower. They have something the GLA doesn't have though. Technology. Laser technology, cloaking technology and the most important part, cyborg drones controlled by an AI, Legion. You're looking at a terrorist army that puts ISIS and Al-Queda to shame, and could rival our real US military. The GLA wouldn't even stand a chance, especially after they realized their biological and chemical weapons have no effect on cybernetic drones. Lets not forget the fact that the Brotherhood of Nod is armed with nuclear weapons. How good exactly is Jarmen against a bullet proof cyborg commando with laser rifles, flamethrowers and plasma guns? How exactly would you defend against a Nod commander like myself who would have stealth tanks, cyborg armies and commandos appear out of nowhere and destroy your base before you even knew what happened? Believe me I use that strategy all the time with Nod. You wouldn't even be able to find my base let alone attack it. Stealth is their best asset. Hell if I got really bored, I'd just nuke your base and wait for everyone else to die of radiation poisoning. (Not exactly a stealthy approach, but really cool none the less) Nod would Obliterate the GLA, and has never played by the rules of other countries like China, Russia, and the US. Terrorism itself is one of their specialties. NOD will use every strategy that gives them the upper hand, including burning your entire villages to ash with flame tanks/infantry, while poisoning civilians with Tiberium chemical weapons. The GLA isn't even in the same league as the Brotherhood. Nod wouldn't pick you off one by one, they'd exterminate you and your people in a genocidal campaign of ruthless combat. Sorry, but war is more than just about an ideal. It's psychological, and you're up against an opponent who has superior technology, tactics, creativity, and unethical means. They're the most finely tuned and well balanced faction in the C&C universe. Both in story and gameplay. The Soviets, GDI, US, and China are all overpowered. Yuri is completely overpowered with being able to just mind control everybody and clone as many soldiers as he wants, and the Empire of the Rising Sun is almost unplayable. Oh did I mention that China can launch as many nukes as it wants? Seriously I've built 40 nuclear silos before playing as them. That's enough nuclear power to wipe out 10 bases. Al-Qu...I mean the GLA shouldn't even be brought into any discussion about C&C. They're the weakest faction in the Continuum.

Funny how in the red alert 3 universe it is America who attacked Pearl Harbour.
alternate history my friend... every possibilities are possible in it
In the real WW2, the imperialist from Japan attacked it. "You cannot invade the mainland America. There will be gunblades from all over the grass."- Admiral Yamamoto
Nani? How is that even possible? PH belonged to America rightm
Soviets changed the future by killing Einstein. USA never nuked Japan, so they were not forced to surrender. Japan took Pearl Harbour and created great technology (because they were not as ravaged by ww2). Behind the back of the allies and soviets who were busy fighting each other, Empire of the Rising Sun was created.
Yeah and in reality no one attacked Pearl Harbour.
Wait, so the president of the USA in this game was a robotic spy the entire time?
That... Actually makes WAY too much sense.
LEGOMANIAC419 I know right?
***** Luminarty
***** hahaha you good
+TheNerd Yeah basically. The President's character was too much of a strawman/sterotype to be real. So it makes sense that the president was a spy for the Empire.
More "society is made of human" vs "society is made of stuff" If a society is made of human, the best strat is to have them to stop fighting. If society is made of stuf, the best strat is to destroy ennemy stuff. Tatsu only consider stuff because he studied robotic, where stuff can replace human.
Both are needed you domlosh those who don't follow you put into place who do. And if anyone who backstabs you wipe them from history.
That Shogun executioner looks extremely impractical.
marinus18 looks useful if it's actually Japanese nano sword tech. though mini ray from freeze helis on them...

I do like the conflict between generations, the modern general saying they should attack the enemy’s industrial capability and the classic emperor saying breaking the enemy will and morale is the way to victory.
And the classic accepting that his way is wrong instead of just trying to keep sticking to his way even when it’s wrong
"Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in between"@@jojogacha974
I like how with using so little as only actors the game developers managed to tell a cohesive story of a rise-development-victory of a new Japanese empire within 15 mins. Bow to the actors - their skill made it so much more interesting to follow. I wish more modern games would use real actors/video instead solely computer graphics.
Ironic, seeing as all the past attempts at this (Night Trap, Sewer Sharks, Mad Dog McCree, etc) failed spectacularly!
@@dragonmaster613 yea mad dog mcree’s bottle scene was basically that game’s version of Tim curry going to space
Say what you will about C&C's gameplay, or that this stuff is cheesy, but effective writing, directing and acting with good sets and costumes help to build the worlds well, whether it's the Tiberium or Red Alert timelines.
Supreme shogun? That means I have entire control of the Japanese military, so basically the emporer promoted me to dictator
Yes, the player is basically can throw away the emperor. BUT... The player has high loyalty to the royal family.
For a big chunk of Japan history the Emperors were kinda figureheads/pope figures in one. Shoguns might have ruled on their own, but technically they answered to the Emperor and it granted them legitimacy. When Tokugawas couldn't get rid of foreigners in the middle of XIX century due to inferior technology, their ability to remain in power and do their job was questioned, their long enemies jumped on the opportunity and bakufu was done (it's more complicated than that, it's just a short version).
@@DBT1007 also because theres honestly no real reason to get rid of the royal family. All the commander is doing is just stir up unnecessary trouble and increase his opposition due to the emperor being the spiritual figure of japan, in exchange for what? The royal family already gave you all the influence and power you need
The emperor should have just the full power over all Dunno why shoguns do
Soviet campaign - basically tutorial. Allies campaign - best gameplay. Empire campaign - best story.
Most based so far - father-son conflict goes along with tradition-progress one. Both go overcoming critical challenges together and, eventually, come to understand and respect each other. Methinks this is the very rare yet important narrative for modern world. ૮(˶╥︿╥)ა

The Empire of Japan in red alert 3 was the version where Japan never had the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
That was in all Red alert games acutually. WW2 never happened in the original way and in the first game the Soviets were the ones who had nukes first...but they wanted to blow up the western powers instead.... In RA2 Japan wasn't in the spotlight either for nukes. And now there are no nukes at all. ^^
"Build a Time MACHHIIINNNEEEE" said the Soviets.
Even though it was the soviets invading Manchuria that prompted the Japanese surrender, but yay anime mechs I guess

Also this giant three-bodied robot with katanas? It's just fake-ass CG, doesn't exist And I'm pretty sure George Takei is not the Emperor of Japan. I might be wrong tho
@@deptusmechanikus7362 You never know tho.
Oh wow a cut scene with a non stationary camera… I don’t even remember if I played this or not, but Red Alert Cutscenes are a lost Art
Live action cutscenes in any games, really. They just don't make 'em like they did in the 90's, or in this case, the 2000's.
10:33 Rich Sanchez's realization about the multiverse, in a nutshell: if there is a multiverse or multiple timelines, then there is no such thing as God, purpose, or destiny. And he's just a man in funny clothes.
Counterpoint: Maybe there is a god, or gods, but they just prefer being subtle?
14:30 - best reward for a job well done
I like how in this campaign. Loyalty is really showcased and the understanding between father and son is displayed. The father willing to listen to his son to do what must be done is pretty inspiring.
Captain Kirk: Captain’s Log... Note to self... frequent time traveling shenanigans made Sulu Emperor of Humanity 🧐🧐... Should’ve listened to Spock
5:55 OOOH MAI
Murica
Guess their relationship was the inevitable.

The day of their destiny has arrived.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
all the lead actors in this are incredible!
I love how in this alternate world of C&C Red Alert 3, Pearl Harbor was attacked by the USA against Japan.
I feel as if this should be the canon ending mostly because of the Time machine tom foolery it feels like just the right consequence for breaking this law of nature
so do I hang out with two dudes and trim bonsai trees, or spend some quality time with a hot chick on a Hawaiian Beach? decisions, decisions...
The Emperor ofcourse
Playing With the computer Comm Screen?
Well Takei is gay and historically some Samurai Daimyo were into boys. So the choice actually depends on your sexual preference. 😁
Bros before Shoujos
Crush the allies!!
@ 1:02 Hot damn I love how Red Alert knows who its target audience is and aint afraid to prove it! (I'm talking about Star Trek fans).
Impossibru!
The Japanese cutscenes are the best in the game.
"....bend to our will!" Oh my.
2:23 Miss Suki Toriyama RIP Akira Toriyama 😭🫡
RIP 😢😢
It even ends on a beach episode
5:53 here, this is what you're looking for
I like how nostalgic that is
I like how the ending is a play on RA2, where both women were offering to be with you on vacation or night on the town.
I never thought that Ron Yuan (Prince Tatsu) would voice Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 11.
He also voices Saejima on Yakuza: Like a Dragon
@@bimapradiga9724 and he also portrayed in Disney Mulan 2020
@@Koganai96 Very Indeed
7:54 - When everyone else goes Wololo, Mr Takei go Hololulu!
5:55 That bit is perfect. :D
Got to love the Japanese cutscenes
Aaaa, this takes me back. Although I do remember a SHAMEFUR DISPRAY or two, this will still remain one of my fondest video game memories.
I said it before and I'll say it again. Who else but the Japanese would have giant robots as artillery vehicles?
well not exactly artillery, but i get what you mean XD
They are masters of Anime so Gumdam!
Also they stole the Megazord Idea.
GDI?
When Sakura Empire also has proper ground forces...
Azure Lane?
Commanda!!
Watching these cutscenes make nostalgic
good thing the emperor doesnt really see you, its hard to stay focused on some of the breifings
I can imagine this going through the Imperial commander's head as the Emperor speaks: "A shogunate? Do you really want to bring that back, your majesty? Last time the shoguns had a lot of power, they cucked the monarchy and made it their puppet. Oh, well, if I get to be the shogun, I won't turn down the chance to become your puppetmaster."
The emperor’s son is also the voice of scorpion in mk 11
Amazing! Best faction in the series. Thumbs up if you guys admire the Empire of the Rising Sun as anime fans.
Harli Baron High School DxD? Wow.
Nine_Tails137 ***** Zakir Stocks Estefania SuazoC Sanchez X3 ***** :)
As an anime hater, It is my favorite faction, becuse mangas were banned in Imperial Japan lol.
5:54 if it was C&C, Kane would be like: hey. hey! HEY! STOP IT! YOU WILL SHUT IT AND LISTEN TO ME, OR THE BLACK HAND WILL HOME RUN BOTH OF YOU!
Damm suki toyama is hot af Edit: HOLY CRAP THAT ENDING OF SUKI INVITING THE PLAYER TO THE BEACH YES GIVE ME GIVE ME
I love the reverse-Pearl Harbor
5:25 - 5:36 who knew that controlling that thing would be so much fun :D
14:30 best part
"We're taking you with us!" "Tora! Tora! Tora!"
Kinda funny they made the "commander" supreme shogun which is actually a public office that used to be more influential than the emperor...
9:06 I did not know he said Los Angeles until I actually played the mission.
Im still Waiting for that German (Nazi or Prussian) Faction.. They'd be wearing steampunk themed uniforms but would be advanced asf.. Dominating using highly armored units
*Knights of the Holy Spear intensifies*
Its just red Alert: Wolfenstein
Col. Stroheim approves!
Died of laughter when they were talking about Pearl Harbor.
I srill love how these guys have future tech and are shown to be advanced and advancing, yet 80% of thier missions are defend missions
SULU, WHY?!!!!!
For Great Emperor and Rising Empire! Tenno Heiku Banzai!
TENŌHEIKA BANZAI!!!!!!!!!!
Kirk: "Suluuuuuuuuu!"
5:53 Do not struggle She felt that
The most awesome representation of Japan
