Best review I’ve watched, loads of information. Thank you
I just got a pre LCiSakhir f10 m5 and it’s been great I picked it up with 17k miles and it has 28k now Former bmw tech now at Porsche and servicing the m5 can be tedious but for the most part simple it’s a great car don’t let all the idiots scare you with campfire stories. Just take care of it properly and tighten up the intervals and the S63 engine will go far.
Very helpful! Great video Mate!
great video mate, very informative.
Very informative mate thanks Is there a sweet spot for a particular year/years to purchase as I have read that 2012/13 cars have oil pump failure problems. Also what’s the cost for rod bearing repair Regards Geoff
The scary thing about mileage blockers is theyre unlikely to have been serviced inline with the genuine miles. If it's been lowered from 60k to 30k by halving each mile driven, the crooked owner isnt going to have done all those services a 60k car should have. Scares me half to death buying modern used cars. How have we reached a situation where it's genuinely easy to clock cars? It should be hard/impossible.
Question on the rod bearings, is this more prevalent on the pre-LCI than the LCI? I've read on forums that the s63tu rod bearings can go out but its far less common and get past 100k miles frequently on stock bearings.
What we're the 3 seat options? And the 3 stereo options please?
Ive seen a video where it was an R8 and the previous owner have used a tool to stop the mileage. However he found the true mileage when he looked at the transmission computer an looked up the miles and it was different. Dont know if BMW transmission keeps track of its own mileage.
Also I believe the mileage is tracked on the keys too with BMW
How much Judder would you expect in reverse to know your clutches are bad? My M6 does it slightly and gets better the faster you go when reversing. But heard from multiple people say they all get some form of a judder from the DCT trans when reversing.
Good question but a hard one to answer, if its slight i would not be concerned
It scares me about the stories about rod barraings i don't know how can you trust the owner? some say its due to wear some say its people trashing it from cold.
Unless you have very deep pockets, don't, just don't.
Are the valve stem and rod bearing issues carried to f90 variant ??
Rod bearings yes. Valve stem seals was not something we see on f10 until few years ago so maybe too early to answer that for f90
@@velocitytuningltdlegend thanks. Another deadly video.
@@velocitytuningltdat what millage is new rod bearing needed?
@@anyimmichaelikI would say 50k, 60k max
