I’m pretty sure that The Rock didnt even have to act for this role. The Director just told him which buildings to jump out of and what helicopters to hold at bay and he just went along with it

This is why I respect Bautista much more than the Rock. They started out from the same place, famed wrestlers turned actors. While the Rock plays the same exact role over and over, aka big tough guy with a heart of gold, exclusively in the action/comedy realm, Bautista actually tries to do more than taking the easy route like the Rock. He puts himself in movies like Blade Runner where he doesn't rely on his physique to be the big tough guy. He actually acts. Excited to see how he does in Dune 2020.

The final sequence in Samoa is so ridiculous I laughed multiple times. in 30 minutes they go from middle of the night to dawn-morning- full daylight and rain storm, cuz you gotta have the final boss fight in a rain storm. Either that timer on her back is bugged or Samoa is on a different planet.
It's closer to the Equator than most of us. That doesn't make time pass differently there, but people don't know that.
That bugs you but the fact that a bunch of Samoan civilians doing Haka in front of a group of international terrorists lead by a "black Superman" doesn't sound ridiculous enough?

Honestly had a lot of fun with this movie. It was the last movie my dad wanted to see in theaters before he died. He loved the rock, so he really enjoyed it and it reminded me of all the great times we had watching the old classics like the Indiana Jones movies. This movie definitely wasn’t the best thing ever, but it kept his mind off of his body slowly shutting down for 2 and a half hours, so I owe this movie a lot

I was actually impressed that the movie treated Hattie Shaw as an independent human with her own free will who can make her own choices about who she's with. In another movie, Hobbs and Shaw would have fought over whether she was allowed to date Hobbs without considering Hattie's wishes. And it would have been played for laughs. Hobbs' and Hattie's interaction was really refreshing and quite surprising.
