I'm almost ashamed at how obsessed I am with this film. I have spent hours studying every aspect, the score, cinematography, cast interviews, bts - It continues to stun me. I rarely walk away from something that can leave such an impression on me, but when I do, I'm all in.
i feel the exact same way! i can’t get enough of it - i want to know and learn more of it. Every aspect is intriguing and i need to know it all
I feel you brother
Took the words out of my mouth. I 100% agree
My current situation to a T.
I've never cared about a movie so much. It's shocked me
Denis Villeneuve is the Lisan al Gaib and he has brought us to paradise.
Preach!
ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ Lisan al Gaib ! ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ
as written
Can we agree that it's a privelege for us that Denis Villeneuve got to make the 'Dune' movies
100%. Absolutely killed it, I can't imagine if some uncreative "suit" creatures got their greedy hands on it first in this decade. I'd have never gotten interested enough to buy the books.
Yep! Aand linking up with Hans :) That combo is lethal!
I’m not a film buff or anything but I wish I could write a letter to the director thanking him for making this. They really don’t make movies like Dune anymore. Such an amazing experience.
Yes! Such a privilege that this film and this filmmaker.
I’m not religious but THANK GOD this beautiful and talented man got to Direct these movies. Hard work is hard but he don’t mind putting in the extra mile and I respect him and his cast and crew so much for it.
Best Picture of 2024
This movie will sweep the 2024 Oscars for sure!!!
@@viviancandelario4766 The Oscars 2024 was like two weeks ago, man.
@@patrickw8574 you know what he means
Must be great to be clairvoyant!
maybe too early, but dune 1 +2 could easily be the best films of the 2020s. especially if there is a eventual third movie
“He made it into a film rather than a talking book” 💯💯💯💯💯
Just finished my 3rd viewing in IMAX, it's spectacular. Every actor and actress absolutely killed it, and the cinematography and score compliment the film so perfectly. Denis made something truly special here.
I saw it 3 times as well.... I was on the edge of my seat each time and I kept finding that my favorite part was the Feyd-Ratha gladiator scene
Went for 2nd time today should have bought my tickets earlier had to sit in front row again was shocked didn't expect all the good seats to be gone with ghostbuster opening this weekend. This is movie the year for sure the IMAX experience is off the chain! This is a real movie experience!
I wish my city had an IMAX and by my next paycheck the film will be gone from my local cinema 😢
I watched it once in IMAX and yesterday in 4DX, IMAX was the best. The sound and image quality is grand. I haven't had this feeling about a movie since LotR. Not a coincedence I think a world from the father of fantasy and now Dune from the father of science-fiction.
I saw it for the third time yesterday, but i went with my friends and it was their first time watching and they loved it. That movie is amazing. That speech Paul gave was so good, even the fight at the end had me at the edge of my seat honestly even after watching it so many times. Denis did a great job, especially since some book to movie adaptions don't go that well.
I've seen it 3 times in IMAX. Dune is our Star Wars, that's all that needs to be said.
dune puts star wars to shame imo, this is how you make a sci fi film in a non corny way
@@devinthomas5593 that is so true - I've felt this way about a film after ages!
@@devinthomas5593 Completely agree. Star Wars is completely eclipsed by by DVs Dune. There is no comparison.
Dune is what the Sequel Star Wars should have been
George Lucas read dune and Steals from it , like from 10 other Films and books he knew.
imagine being a director who is bringing to life a work that you loved as a child and seeing the entire cast that you see as the characters in the book praising you and telling you how incredible you are must be a wonderful feeling
❤
Denni deserves his directing oscar for this movie. And dune 2 is a masterpiece in every direction, if this doesn't win next oscar for best movie i would be shocked.
Best movie Best director -DV Best Actor- TC Best Actresses-RF or Supporting Best Supporting Actor So many should be nominated Javier Bardem Austin Butler Either r good Probably JB
I think my obsession with Dune 2 is because it truly is a visual film. The dialogue although strong, is kept to a minimum. That’s why so many images stayed with me, because it truly is a Visual Joy and Masterpiece. Can’t wait to watch it over and over again
Ooook listening to Javier explain feeling happy and protected at work is LITERALLY the most important thing for anyone ever, big money or not as big money workers. 🙌 that Dennis V can make his team feel that way. Not everyone can do those things.
The way it should be ❤
By far the best film I’ve seen in years. Arguably my favourite cinema experience ever. Never seen a film 3 times in the cinema before. It’s spellbinding
same! i am going to see it for the third time on Sunday and i have never even been to watch the same film twice at the cinema letalone three times! it is good to see these comments of other people needing to go multiple times also :)
I've been a filmmaker since I was 13 years old, and nothing... i repeat NOTHING i've seen in that time has compared to these two movies together. Denis is one of the best filmmakers of our time.
the way this cast talks about each other and Denis is so sweet. you can tell they have so much respect for each other and genuinely had fun making these movies
I saw it 4 times already. Super movie
Going for my 5th in a few days
@@DarkoFitCoach I think I'll be joining you
That’s mad
I am going to see it a second time. Probably not the biggest 1.43 IMAX screen this time.
5th times already
After my 5th viewing and 3rd time in imax, I have to say it is one of the best films ever created. Absolute masterpiece.
Man, Josh Brolin is SO articulate and poetic. Looking forward to my 6th viewing in Imax this week!
Giedi Prime sequence was amazing
9:25 this shot of Chalamet running on the dune is so amazing, you could make a whole movie out of this scene alone (ok, almost)
There is a video of a deep analysis of that scene from Denis (if you mean the time he’s running on the dune to get on the sandworm). He says it was the most important scene of the movie.
@@unemilifleur I think, I've seen that. Very insightful!
I hope he releases extended editions on this one. Surely he has to see the importance of it given how huge this film was. They should run it on TV as a series with all of the deleted scenes added back in to make up 12 episodes.
Never gonna happen. Dennis said what is cut will never see daylight
denis' deleted scenes become lost media when the movie hits the threatre
as a french-Canadian (québécois), its such an amazing experience to see someone from my home having such talent and bringing such greatness to the world. humbling in the best of ways.
@@user-lu9bg4ll6v I don't know if you're joking but he was talking about Denis Villeneuve Plus Timothée Chalamet is French American so it applies
@@user-lu9bg4ll6v Québécois are called French Canadian. His name says it all
Hans Zimmer is spot on. Dune is extremely heavy on internal monologues and Denis is a visual storyteller. That clash made magic.
Watched Dune 2 twice in theater because I wanted to share the experience with someone. Thought it'd be slightly redundant to watch again since I just saw it few weeks ago.....nope! I was still blown away. I finished it and thought...damn, this is a really good movie, the kind where every scene is just spectacular. Truly great cinema at its best. Bravo on everyone that worked on this movie. Hats off to you!!
I am a Cineast for over twenty years... But Dune is a absolute stunning MASTERPIECE!!!! A perfect Composition, everything is absolute perfection! From story, epic epic pictures, stunning music that fits so beautiful, Actors are perfect... Really impressive!!! Can't wait for part three!!!!!
Stilgar is absolutely the best hype man and possibly my favorite character in the movie. Both in terms of great character to love but also a great character you can feel a certain connection within his characters philosophy and what he represents. The movie is 10/10
Watched it twice in IMAX and once standard. I've seen this movie more times than most blockbusters that have been out for ages. First time even watching a movie for the third time in theaters.
How interesting it was to see when the movie ended in the theater people were sitting there still, for a long time even after the credits finished, talking to each other about the movie and how it made us all feel. I went to see it yesterday 19/4 after the movie being in the theaters for about a month and 3 weeks now and the room was still almost full! Truly a masterpiece!
What a privilege to be able to watch the Dune movies, Denis’ work is nothing but pure art that allows me to escape into one of the most immersive cinema experiences
Some how you can always tell when the show runners are in love with the source material.
The LOTR of sci-fi. The similarities are striking. Mainly, in how you feel the passion of everything, music, costume, set design, sound design, acting. The vision of the film was already complete, all Villeneuve did was discovering it. They ought to do appendecies for these films too.
This! I’m a huge fan of the lotr trilogy (movies!) and my family’s knows this very well and they were shocked when I said I think this is the first time ive had this kind of experience watching a movie since lord of the rings! This movie is just done so well!
I'm calling it right now. Denis with Javier and Josh, will be the next big Director/actor bromance. I've been on an interview binge and the amount of compliments and respect Denis has given to Javier and Josh is awesome. He's said that Javier shares a relatable creative understanding of the character that no other actor has shown him before, and Timothee says that Brolin and Denis are "all over each other, literally" lol
7:06 love the way zendaya says it basically "F the prophecy"
Denis can seem to truly humble any actor.
Timothee Chalamet & Rebecca Ferguson for me carried both movies for me their arc was amazing how the change from one movie subtlety shifted was so real just loved it
Will their be a dune part 3 movie ?
@ausafahmed4396 Yes there will. Villeneuve was always planning a trilogy and the story isn’t over yet.
Its been a privilege and honour of us audience to experience dune 2 in imax. What a mind blowing piece of cinema. It was an experience of a lifetime
*Paul moves his hands while speaking* "As written!"
Amazing actors ,amazing director, amazing story, learn Hollywood learn
I watched 12 times Dune part 1 , 2 in theater and 10 on TV. Then I watched 2 times Dune part 2 in theaters and am waiting to purchase Dune part 2 on Prime. I love Dune movies and could not wait to see Dune Part 3 ❤
Amazing film. Cast, Cinematography. Score. Perfect. Just Perfect.
sound and music on this movie are fantastic, everything is on point costume design and art are spectacular
I love Dune and will watch it as long as I breathe. I really would like more.
I was leaning forward, eyes wide open and beyond locked-in for the entire film. Absolutely incredible. I haven’t felt this way about a film since I watched Star Wars as a kid.
It's amazing that it took just the right time before this story could come alive on the big screen. It needed the genius of Villeneuve plus his having read the story as a teen (like so many of us!) and its story sticking with him from that time period onward. Those decades of the story 'cooking' inside his brain, along with the rise of the perfect set of film technologies to bring it alive; and the cast/crew's pure dedication to it have - wonderfully - created a masterpiece. It will be so forever. Bravo.
Yeah he's been wanting to make this movie since he was a kid. Amazing
This coming saturday will be my 4th viewing of this masterpiece. I just can’t enough of it. Waiting for Dune part3 with already growing impatience 😁
Saw it three times, and honestly IMAX completely hits it out of the ball park, what an experience. Goosebumps throughout, incredible acting, the soundscapes are insane, absolute masterpiece ❤
Christopher Walken: “I needed more cowbell, and Denis brought it.”
What a phenomenal, jaw dropping film. Thanks for compiling all this footage!
WOW! Dude, thanks a lot and congrats for the editing on this! Loved to see it all together ESPECIALLY with this level of editing
yes i recognise most of the clips but putting it together feels more coherent
@@siyuanng8348That's because MM is a REAL editor. Unlike so many of the wannabe channels on YT, he actually puts a lot of work into these videos.
Would be nice to hear a bit more from the VFX team. They obviusly had a huge roll in this film, and did an amazing job! Especially the way the camera moves in the shots that are 100% digital, is masterfully crafted, making them look completely convincing.
❤ Dune is a real masterpiece ❤ So proud of all the people that participated in this beautiful project 👏🏻✨ Pure talent 😌🌿
If Dune returns to IMAX then im for sure going for my fourth viewing lol. twice in imax, once in regular. regular still good but doesn't hit the same. well done to them
After watching this movie, you believe in the Lisan al Gaib too and are ready to fight for him.
“But the fucking fabrics” 😂😂😂
Paul’s character arc from Part One to Part Two is mind blowing. Chalamet is a genius.
Dune 2 in imax is religious experience
I watch this movie yesterday for the first time and OMG!! What an amazing Sci-Fi thriller. Loved it! 😍😍
this is incredible
Yup, this is this generations LOTR trilogy. There is actually an heir to the throne. Denis you have to make 2 more movies.
And another 2
Love this behind the scenes man this movie delivers! Will always be in my memories the iMax experience is amazing. Please release both part 1 and 2 in IMAX back to back viewing opportunity .
I just finished watching Dune 2. It's incredible! I'm looking forward to the final chapter 😊
11:40 this is actually my first time seeing josh brolin in interviews, love his movies but just never really watched any press interviews or anything with him and I was thinking from the beginning of this that this dude is a film nerd bruh and then he says it himself haha definitely going to look up more interviews with him!
Timothy is a fkn star of CENTURY
This is such a great movie, the last scenes really got me. Big fan of dune since the 80's.
Great thanks for all this big dream team. Will waiting third part❤
This movie is absolute Perfection. From Music, Dialogue, to set and special effects. Its a movie you can Watch multiple times. The First One was a bit slow. However watching both movies back to back. You understand the Build up and makes the Final soo much more
Masterpiece
Rebecca’s diatribe about the fabric fetish is everything. 😂
Ive watched it 8 times already it was the best IMAX experience I've ever had it was truly an amazing experience! I wish i was able to see part 1 in IMAX instead of watching it on HBO max during the simultaneous relesse i just didn't know how amazing it was going to be since i knew nothing about dune! I just started the book and im about 80 pages in and its so cool to see how much they got right in the movie only 80 oages in. I went to see Dune knowing nothing really about it just watched it cause im a lover of sci-fi, beautiful Cinematography, great storys, great cast, lover of books/comics brought to life and all of Denis Villanueves work I've seen I loved so i knew it was going to be good just never knew how much I'd love it and now I'm obsessed!
i just watched it.. it was an amazing movie. love it. gonna be my yearly movie.
Absolute classic
Greate to see it on premiere ❤
Finally got to see it in 70mm! Drove 3 hours to Indianapolis. Fucking amazing. Can't wait for the Blu-ray so I can watch them back to back !
Please I need a part 3, am on my kneels 😢😢
We all just need to thank Denni for this if you haven't already please thank Denni.
You can thank Denni, I’m sure he’d like that. But the director’s name is Denis.
Seen it four times in imax just to support even tho I’ve already found it online
where?
Impressive director
Obsessed with this movie I’ve watched it 5 times in imax. Probably overkill but it’s that good and must be seen in theaters. Even bought the books so I’m going to go read that as well. To think that I found my first impression of dune was boring af from my living room, if it wasn’t for that rerelease in imax of dune. They got me😂
When you know and experience what it is to be working with a great master. What else can you ask for!
I have never seen a better movie than dune.
I don't care what nobody says, it'd be criminal to leave us without a third one.
Zendaya and Rebecca slayed dune 2🤩
My name is Denis, so i think I could be critical, but this movie is splendid
Hans Zimmer created one of the best score on this film. It really matches the end scene, point of no return
Your time watching this movie is like water in Arrakis: not a drop will be wasted.
8:15 After seeing this scene I cannot unsee an image of lady Jessica in my mind during part two that goes like: "Damn I look fabouls with all that fabric but fuck its so heavy"
"Villeneuve shows the way"
Rebecca Ferguson and her wanting to be seen should take notes from Edward Norton in Kingdom of Heaven
I think 3 watches of the first film is optimal for understanding. The second one is waaay easier to follow yet I wanna watch it about 400 times
I can’t wait to see lady Jessica ❤
She slays ❤
Never in my life I thought that I would hear Dune, Pirates of the Caribbean and Avengers mentioned in the same sentence...
They made working hooks?? Like, everything about this film is so awesome, why does this stick out to me 😂
Never seen a movie that has reminded me SO much of 'Life of Brian' xD Paul is not the Messiah he's a very naughty boy!
Agreed, especially the "only the messiah would say he's not the messiah!!" Was so funny in such a serious film😂
Not to mention the ministry of silly walks. In the end I was disappointed that in 8000 years most people still believe the dumb things they are told. Seemed a bit dated. The religious pageantry just got boring.
@ReluctantAardvark that's kinda the whole point of the story my dude, the second book is literally called Dune Messiah 😂
I must say Javier Bardem carried this movie. His character felt very real and comical at the same time, very entertaining.
I say that because the movie is very dark and Javier brings the charisma thats so much needed to make the movie feel real.
He is the one pointing the way
Real Cinema
If Timothee is not not the sexiest man of the year of 2024, I will unsubscribe my People magazine. He has more than deserved it!!! ❤❤
Where comes the music from 00:00 to 3:30?
This movie is actually crazy, its doing the same thing with its second movie that Avatar did with its first
Avatar??? Are you really comparing the story of Dune, which was written in 1965, to a movie from 2009? Tell me you're not serious.
@@AJ-zz7hu I'm comparing two well acted well directed movies that both are/were blockbusters. what do the years have to do with anything btw?
@@Error23801 You made it sound like the story of Avatar is super original. It's not. It's basically 'Pocahontas' or 'Fern Gully'. Sure it's visually stunning, but it doesn't have an original story. the story of DUNE has been around since 1965. So if anything, Avatar is copying stuff from Dune, NOT the other way around like you made it sound.
@@AJ-zz7hu Ah, yes I know that Avatar isn't an original story, and I didn't mean to make it sound like Dune is a copy, simply meant to say that it's causing the same hype and making people watch it again and again. Not to mention the visuals which are simple yet the way they add to the story is marvelous. And Avatar did the same with its visuals. I'm not saying one is better than the other.
