  • Dua recognized what so many of us have known for a long time - Tom is a stellar interviewer especially with musicians. What I personally did not know what how lovely Dua Lipa seems to be. I enjoyed this interview very much.

    • Yes, isn't she! It's what I love most about her. So personable and real. Especially when she's in 'difficult' situations. So together and cool. I'm annoyed with myself that I only discovered Dua late last year (Nov. '23) when she released 'Dance the Night' for the Barbie movie. I've been smitten ever since. Fwiw, i'm 76 and on my 3rd coupling, 20 years in, so I know a bit about relationships... and how to survive them.

  • I'm so glad that people are really appreciating Tom's gift for interviewing. I've been listening to him from when he first started on Q and from the first moment, I was awed by his ability. He is so compassionate and empathetic and meets people where they are at and he's genuine. He just treats everyone as regular human beings because they are. We are all human and all want to connect and share. 😊

  • I wrote Dua off a little based on the other interviews of hers that I’d watched. But I’ve come around a bit based on this interview. I couldn’t sit through the Zane Lowe interview, because Dua was giving NOTHING. Dua seems very shy and super guarded in interviews, which can make long-form interviews an absolute slog to watch if the interviewer doesn’t know how to navigate this-which Zane did not. It felt like he gave up trying to get anything out of Dua, therefore every answer from her felt like a non answer or a tangent, and Zane didn’t even bother trying to steer things or converse with her. Dua seems like the type of person who needs direct questions and likes things to be conversational, and Tom got that very quickly-which Dua picked up on and responded to. But then again, it’s his approach with every interview, which is largely why his interviews are always great.

  • I am not a Dua Lipa fan ( I frequently trash her music on social media), but this woman might be the most genuinely eloquent pop artist I've ever come across. How I would describe her would be "the zeitgeist of sagacity" in the realm of modern pop culture. And big props to Tom Power (assuming that's his name) for making this feel like such a diplomatic interview, I am tired of the others who make things all about pop culture, trying to be hip and cool and using colloquium that's way too much of a cliche. That Apple guy (can't remember his name) is a prime example of this platitude. On the contrary, someone could have told me that the History channel did a Dua Lipa interview and sent me this video and I'd fully believe it. Props to both of them. Very much enjoyed this.

So Taylor musically, lyrically, artistically is MILES above Dua. Dua is another pop produced sex symbol by the record labels to generate mass appeal and make money.
